NEWMEN from Frankfurt are back, and have teamed up with no one other than Wolfgang Flür, who is best known for being the drummer of perhaps the most influential band in electronic music, Kraftwerk, from 1973 to 1986. While the original version of 'Futur I' is a perfect reminescence of how pop music could sound, Fabrizio Mammarella brings in the rimini endorphines, everyone is craving for. Time for dusting the lasers!

We are proud to present the fifth instalment of the Pal’s compilation, with talent from across the globe, coming together to create a collection to soundtrack these strange days.

First up, Aural Trace sets the scene with the slow burning celestial soundscapes of ‘Melange’, where choral overtones curl up snuggly along the drum machine, fusing organic and mechanics.

The influence of the Cologne School seeps through every pour of M Love’s ‘Oboda’ with warm analogue melodies oozing throughout. 
Churning distorted guitars twist between the throbbing tribal drums of Mufti’s 'Fascinatio'.

Marzian’s 'Conversaciones Delirantes' pulls us through a psychedelic shapeshifting bass heavy prism of sound. Sharp stabs cut through the bass on Flvn’s ‘Yule’, no mistake, this could soundtrack a slasher movie in-spite of its festive title.

Leo af Ekenstam’s ‘Stress’ carries a tense, yet driving groove punctuated by nervous guitars and shady atmospherics. 

A bubbling bit-crushed low end permeates Montessori’s 'Speed Dating’s dark EBM tinged muscular workout.

Stockholm Syndrome teams up with Lusca to craft a pumping retro synth infused stomper which twists and jitters from the opening bars to the last refrain.

Cabizbajo and Colossio also combine their production talent to create the cavernous feedback driven echofest of ‘Ley’ with twisted arpeggios and animal like sounds dancing in and around the drums.

Manner of Speaking play out with ‘the Unknown’, a brooding instrumental downtempo track which strikes a literal and figurative chord with the collective consciousness this past year.

Monoblok’s orignal is a catchy electro track with hints of synthwave, and there’s a freshness to it that makes it perfect to hit the dancefloors this summer.
K-Effect and Parissior’s remix takes the indie dance vibe of the original a little further with a powerful synthwave-meets-electro interpretation driven by a strong rhythm section and carefully crafted synth lines, while Laptop Kid ventures frantically into breakbeat territory, distorting the original bassline in the meantime to most dramatic effect.
Ctrl+Stop closes the deal with a no holds barred rework revolving around robotic vocals, dirty textures and uncompromising electro beats. This one is definitely tailored for the dancefloor.

Tronik Youth - Let's Go (Fringe Society Remix)

Rodion and Fabrizio Mammarella are back with another precious collaboration EP since “Appennini” released in 2012 but never forgotten in the fame.
They have been like brothers for many years, and after many
collaborations, these two producers are well attuned to each other in their musical soul. Rodion and Fabrizio are both very sophisticated producers and known for their dramatic melodies, mixed with synthesized funk and disco, which turns it into emotional freaky electronic music.
All tracks are recorded in Mexico City, bringing in Mexican artist Mijo as a featuring on the track ‘’Cerro Gordo’’. Moreover, italo-belgian duo Front De Cadeaux join with a remix that grabs elements from both the original tracks, reworked in one timeless piece of music.

In sheer rapture, Riotvan hereby announces... Curses, the most classy and charming prince of darkness that contemporary dance music has to offer, is debuting on the label with a new release. 

We’ve seen him on remix duties for New Hook recently. Still, here we find him submitting two originals, crafted with his regular companion, Dame Bonnet, on the bass and showcasing a rather tender sentiment within the signore’s emotional spectrum. 'Premonitions' aligns bass-driven Postpunk-verve with blissful synths and an overall romantic tuning that Human League or Tears For Fears would’ve sold some close relatives to achieve. 

'Salvation', on the other hand, builds a somewhat meditative, almost IDM-like grounding, on top of which Curses practices a head-spinning Talkbox-exorcism.

Exclusive remix of Los Angeles and Bologna based Nuovo Testamento's Heartbeat by Curses himself! Taken from the band's 2023 album Love Lines, Heartbeat - in its original form a shimmering italo synth pop number, part Danceteria-era Madonna, part Yazoo - has been ruthlessly retooled here by Curses for strobe lit sweatboxes. Shifting the emphasis from its sparkling synths and pop melody towards the rhythm section, the track's synth bass now dominates the track just as its martial kick drums and gated snares push us deeper into EBM territory.

Taking us on a sleazy, strobe lit tour of the darker corners of clubland Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX is the second compilation curated for Eskimo Recordings by Luca Venezia, aka Curses. Threading the needle between early industrial, EBM, post-punk experiments and some of the most exciting music being made today, the 49 track compilation also features some of Luca's own exclusive remixes such as his 'Revamp' of New Beat classic J.W.B. Hits The Beat's 'Body On Body'.

Originally released back in 1987, Curses' remix brings the track right up date, pushing the tempo and toughening up the drums whilst stripping it back down to focus on the portentous choral synth pads and teasing us with its ecstatic vocal samples before the effervescent Italo melody brings it all together. A perfect synthesis of past and present, much like the compilation it's taken from.

FOOMIE(JPN) - Rilala (Original Mix) [YHV TECH RECORDS]

Javi Redondo releases a 5-track EP on Dischi Autunno featuring 3 originals, with the remaining tracks consisting of remixes of lead track ‘Rythmo’ from Pablo Bozzi (aka Lapse of Reason) and Cosmo Vitelli. The pace across the EP may be quite sedate, but the sounds within are anything but: blending analogue techno manoeuvres with a disco-inflected methodology, the producer paints a picture of prime-time energy with a heaped spoon of fun. 

‘Black 5th’ draws heavily on this energy, static, patient acid jittering forward slowly and with intent as the sci-fi-esque samples and spooked electronics flutter in and out of audibility. ‘Non Sei Qui’ takes the energy out of the stars and into an EBM horror soundtrack, shattered vocal samples and 80’s synth leads bringing the listener deeper into the intensifying groove.

‘Rythmo’ sets the bar, gritty bass sludging past a gate of motorik drums. True to its name, the rhythm develops swiftly, krautrock-edged energy gathering momentum as the percussion suite, faintly coloured with house music tropes, reaches for the stars. 

Pablo Bozzi, in the vein of Space Dimension Controller, adds a cinematic punch to ‘Rythmo’, transforming the original into an enigmatic, almost trance-like piece, while Cosmo Vitelli’s ‘K hole’ remix pulls the other way, using a stylised view of the percussion as an ephemeral layer above treacle-thick bass and whirring, panic-stricken machinery.

Canada’s ALI X (formally Azari & iii) and Mexico’s XIMENA are releasing their self-titled, debut album project. Set for release this July via their own label ‘CONTROLLA’, tracks from the album are receiving remixes from a selection of well-respected artists, as is the case here with Timothy Clerkin's remix of "No Me Gustas."

After many failed attempts at writing the press release for such an ambiguous project, it's the artists themselves that introduce the album… 

“ALI X (ex Azari & III) and XIMENA (Controlla.Mx) are a powerhouse duo whose risky Spanglish techno-rap out of Mexico City cuts raw, rugged barrio street juice with laser sharp cultural rhetoric, radiated by a dominant visual element unique to their assay. Their Spring 2020, self-titled debut album is a bricolage of radical freak poetics and hyper-focused observations, entangled in a dusky jungle of dank, chunky production and abstracted aural art pieces. With deep-referencing and inspiration from Luis Miguel to Plastikman, Jean-Paul Sartre to John Paul Jones, these two rap-junkie technoid punks poke fun at the contemporary cultural milieu with a deadpan seriousness you can never quite read for sure...

Premiere: ALI X x XIMENA "No Me Gustas" (Timothy Clerkin Remix) - Controlla

The sky has become colorless. It is as if the blue sky is a sheet of paper in the center of which a hole is burned, and behind that hole is solid black. And only stars around. Just imagine what it is like to fall UP pursuit to someone.
The Canadian born, singular underground producer and lyricist, Chloé Raunet aka C.A.R., is set to release her third album on Ransom Note Records later this month.

PREMIERE #1073 | C.A.R. - Flight And Pursuit (Richard Sen Remix) [Ransom Note] 2020

Amongst the open armed greetings, excited laughter and lively chatter, she couldn't quite find her footing. It was as if there was an invisible wall she couldn't break down. She could hear everyone else but the words to respond weren't coming to her. How could it be that even surrounded by a room full of friendly faces and old friends, she felt isolated and alone... 

After a brief release hiatus during lockdown, East London party and label Snap, Crackle & Pop get things rolling again with an EP from cult Glaswegian post punk group Junto Club. Marking their second release for SC&P following 2016's Shiviana / Ikiryo EP which helped launch the imprint, The Alameda sees the band build on their distinct sound, crafting a more dance-floor focused sound by letting the synths and drum machines do the talking. On the flip, both tracks get the rework treatment from Gabe Gurnsey and Groove Armada remixer Fall Forward and longtime SC&P collaborator, Ombra International boss Curses, who steers 'Alone' into darker realms with a punchy, driving techno take on the original.

If only there was a label curated by Niv Ast & Eliezer. Oh, wait, there is: New Day Everyday is the name of the imprint managed by the acclaimed Israeli artists. They finally kick off the year of their project delivering a bombastic compilation – the first of its kind – devoted to bringing forward the roots and the essence of their musical sphere. 

Close friends and favourite artists from all over the world were brought together and solicited to provide this "craving for the dancefloor" mood for the release: Sebastian Tex, Astroloop, Thomass Jackson, Gionist & Turgi, Zillas On Acid, Skelesys, and Niv Ast & Eliezer themselves make up the dream team.

Our hermano Skelesys, just like everybody else, is eager to “Do It Again”. His contribution to the compilation is definitely something we need to dance to on a packed dancefloor. The spirited bassline, the hazy synth pads, and the vocal hook are the most striking features of his beautiful piece of work.
