This is a casual collection of tracks created in different corners of the world, fully reflecting my taste and perspective on music. It’s filled with intricate details born from escapism - like collages torn from reality, resembling fragments of strangers’ stories accidentally overheard from passersby.

 In this compilation are tracks by artists you won’t find on official charts, but whose sound is unforgettable. Noisy loops, crispy beats, distorted vocals, and cold electronics sound as if transmitted through an encrypted channel. Each composition is like a hidden message understood only by those who know where to look.

 No rules, no censorship, no regard for algorithms - just the energy of an underground scene born from chaos and anonymity. I dedicate this collection to those who inspired me to create it - to those who once believed in me, believe now, and never stop believing.

After releasing several EP on Accents Records, ARTS, and Diffuse Reality. Pablo Diarra aka Saïph launches his own label Songe Anima records (Sonam rec) with this first release Griffe Sonam EP.

The EP's surprising influences include techno, contemporary trance and ambient, with acoustic recordings drums somewhere between, Afrobeat, jazz and Maracatu, and colder textured pads. This EP feels both grounded and ethereal.

The whole low-end spectrum stares us in a very dub-like direction, the snare, Rim, hats game is as swift as it is aerial, while the electro sound design elements take us, through experimental effect, into a vast, hushed soundscape.

The EP can't be summed up in a single musical style, and explores musical universes we've rarely heard together. The resulting unity is a mature, rhythmically complex sound, an insider's music that's easy to access because it's so danceable.

'After Trane'is an explicit tribute to John Coltrane. Here, the main lead evokes a sound somewhere between trumpet, flute and organ. Its polyrhythmic tangle with a second lead to the 5th can evoke a Balkan fanfare, a Celtic ritornello, West African chants, or even an Oriental dimension; there's something quite universal about this appearance; whose main characteristic is to produce a trance effect. The closing solo may evoke something of Joe Zawinul, and in some aspects takes the allure of a Coltranian pastiche in its articulation. You'll even recognize a brief citation of the Impressions theme, breaking through the mix and setting the track on fire at 5''33.

Melómana Records reaches its 53rd release with a launch that marks a new milestone in its journey, presenting a truly special talent within the international electronic scene. Pino, a Tbilisi-based producer and live performer, is celebrated for his unique way of moving between indie dance and house, driven by an improvisational spirit and a raw analog sound that turn each performance into an intense and immersive experience.

His new EP, Focus 10, condenses all that energy into two original tracks full of personality. The title track pulls us into a break and electro universe with a vibrant, driving bassline that never lets up, while Kage slows down the tempo into a slowmotion trip, where a hypnotic low-end and powerful impact create a dark and magnetic journey that grips from the very first beat.

France via Hong Kong artist Romain FX joins the Sound Of Vast roster this October with the ‘Musique De Maison’ EP, including a remix from Monkey Timers.

Romain has been a key innovator in the Hong Kong & Asian music scene for the past 18 years in various different facets, building bridges between cultures and erasing borders through music. He has since taken a step into the world of production and his music has been played by some of the biggest acts in the game such as DJ Harvey, The Black Madonna, Gerd Janson, Horse Meat Disco, Skatebärd, Lauer, Tornado Wallace, Lipelis, Orpheu The Wizard, Kamma & Masalo and many more. Here his musical production story continues with his latest collection of works coming via the esteemed Tokyo imprint, Sound Of Vast.

Leading the release is title-cut ‘Musique De Maison’, a five-minute excursion through organic percussion grooves, snaking elongated bass tones, intricately intertwined vintage-leaning synth melodies and an overall cosmic disco aesthetic that reflects Romain’s borderless, cross-cultural sound. ‘Tonal Spices’ follows and ups the energy levels with a sturdy rhythm section, squelchy acid licks, murky bass stabs, Indian vocals and cinematic strings ebbing and flowing throughout.

Monkey Timers take on ‘Musique De Maison’ next with their interpretation extracting the core essence of the original and reshaping it into a dynamically unfurling rework, fusing fragments of the original with expansive delays, heavy reverberations and modulating synth work. The ‘Psych-O-Delic (Live Mix)’ then concludes the release with off-kilter drums running in combination with, as the name would suggest, tripped-out melodies, processed spoken word and warbling synth licks — a nod to Romain’s playful, surrealist edge.

Jon Dixon has been a student of classical music since his teenage years, and brings a jazz sensibility to his techno. He is an Underground Resistance affiliate who has released music on cult labels like Planet E and is one of Detroit's most sought-after musicians, having performed with greats such as Amp Fiddler, Jeff Mills, Mike Banks, and Derrick May. His hi-tech sound is informed by time spent working with the late jazz icon Marcus Belgrave and comes on his own 4evr 4wrd as well as the likes of Nervous.

Sublime opener 'Layers To This' is perfectly indicative of his ageless fusion of jazz, techno, and Motor City magic. It's a mid-tempo cut with deep drums and busy synth lines that bring futuristic soul. As the drums march on, the percussion ramps up, and the drums become increasingly hypnotic, while the evolving synth work shines. 'Bridgehouse' is a brighter cut with nimble piano chord dancing over the tightly programmed but live-sounding drums. It's a life-affirming celebration with jazz energy and joyous melodies combining perfectly with the restless movement of the drums.

First remixers LA Synthesis, aka Carl Grant and Tony Gallagher, formed in South London in 1992 and became vital voices in the evolving techno sound of the time, in no small part thanks to their near-perfect debut album ‘Matrix Surfer’. They turn up the melodic brightness on 'Layers To This' with jittery broken beats and twitchy acid sounds all firing your synapses during a most interplanetary deep techno trip.

El Prevost heads up No Speakers - and the party of the same name - after more than 20 years in the underground, releasing across the house and techno spectrum and paving the way for the grime and garage crossover with his cult Linx Recordings label. Here, he transforms 'Bridgehouse' into a darker sound with tense synths twanging behind scattered chords. The push and pull between the two make for an alluring dance floor tension.

E-bony returns with his second EP on Italo Moderni, “Party Line” a raw blend of driving electro and acid grit. Known for crafting underground bangers, he pushes heavy basslines and sharp synths into hypnotic territory, keeping the floor locked from start to finish. A pure statement of his vision: timeless electro with a fierce, future-facing edge. 200% club bangers!

The sky was alive with radiant colour and delicate visions. It was as if someone had opened a trapdoor amidst the clouds and we had been invited into another world within which wild light existed and ran delicately free. It was a beautiful sight, the flickering haze was so close yet so very, very far away. The cold chill which hung prominently in the air had been forgotten the minute the dazzling radiance had begun to appear. This was the aurora borealis, it was humble and kind. 

K Dallas is a member of the up and coming Regelbau crew whom have been on a run of prominent form as of late. He appears on a new compilation from Sitdownandance which focusses on the experimental fringes of electronic music.
