Madrid's Rotten City Records welcomes the Greek artist Veslemes, previously released on Optimo, Macadam Mambo and Bird Out with new 3 tracks 'The Nest' EP. On remixes duties were invited Sordid Sound System, Trio Misterio and Mexican national treasure Iñigo Vontier who delievers dense thriller version of 'Neon Pilgrims Stutter In The Daylight' an excellent weapon both for the dance floor and for night race across the Chihuahua's desert on a powerful buggy decorated with neon lights.

A long walk was at the apex of most days; sometimes the route was the same, sometimes they took a punt. That was the beauty of living in the countryside, there was a never-ending supply of nature to explore. Of course, the woodland walks and far-reaching cornfields had become familiar after all these years of living here, but every now and then they'd stumble upon a hidden paradise.

Hot on the heels of Daniel Monaco & Sauvage World's EP earlier this month, San Francisco's Roam Recordings welcome Australian-born, New York-based producer Kate Stein. Marking her debut release, 'Scenic Byway' offers two original cuts that display Kate's knack for crafting hypnotic melodies and low rumbling bass lines, backed up by two remixes on the flip from Perel and Zillas On Acid.

Premiere: A-Tweed - Dendrobates Tinctorius [Playground Records]

It must be good to be the owner of a record label. Even better if this label is a respected one, like Nein. Whenever you feel bored, you just need to release some new stuff, invite a couple of friends to provide some cool remixes, send a message to a fellow dinosaur soliciting a premiere, and that’s it, you got yourself a new EP! The lack of need of sending out demos is the closest someone must get from Paradise.

Yes, we are talking about Neil Parnell aka Tronik Youth (SXDNS050): He returns with a powerful new single on his own label. “U R A Slave”, with its Sunday-Bloody-Sunday-like militaristic drum rolls pounding into the chorus, delivers a mighty heaviness – kind of aggressiveness – to the dance floor (the piece of heaven on Earth that we all have been craving to go back to). 

Black Light Smoke and Mundo D take over the remix duties, and we were requested to review the former’s contribution. The North American producer brought to the original an electro/darkwave 80s vibe, removing the soldierly attitude and bestowing a sleazier and breezier aura. The label boss must have loved it – so do we!

Exalted by hissing leads and arpeggiated basses, Ulla Records writes off walls between the 80s and modern era. The first release, “In Motion”, showcases the variety of genre that the label aims to put forward.

Youngster Austher opens up the project with a slow italo-disco cut, followed by Malouane, delivering an electro-oriental-inspired chimera, and Sporting Club with a piece of italo-body music, before Naranja and LDM wrap it up with a frantic homage to the rave and acid era.

Belgian dj & producer Mugwump is an elusive presence with a solid tastemaker reputation preceded by in-famous DJ residencies at mythic Belgian clubs and a long-standing recording relation with Cologne’s Kompakt records, ongoing DJ support from the late Andrew Weatherall as well as a large catalogue of electronic ‘disco-techno’ records, released on leading labels R&S, Gigolo, Cocoon, Endless Flight, Eskimo, Permanent Vacation or International Feel. Mugwump runs the Leftorium clubnight in Brussels and his own Subfield label with indie power-house !K7.

Following albums "Unspell" (a mixture of slo-mo disco, new-beat, psychedelic pop and balearic) and "Drape" (a postpunk turn as a live band setting), Mugwump is back with new album “Pneuma” and its first anthem « Breakout » which revives the worldwide 80’s jazz-funk-pop hit from UK band Swing Out Sister (formed by members from A Certain Ratio and Magazine).

The 16th release of Belly Dance Services marks the 4th edition of Various Worldwide, where artists from across the globe join forces for a mini album with 8 tracks.
From Italy with love for a certain musical weirdness: 'Bubble Gum'. Mesmerizing teamwork between A-Tweed and Kakofonico. After starting off steady and percussive, the beats per minute shift up with Cosman from the Lithuanian coast when he delivers his vibrant version of 'Space Disco'. The third track 'No Man Around' is a magnetizing joint venture between AckerMan from Israel and Funboys trio from Australia.
The ritualistic cowbell ceremony is followed by 'Blew my Mind', a cheerful downtempo anthem from Vienna-based producer Klaus Benedek. The voyage continues via Turkey and Mexico, where Fat&Bald and Ludviq celebrate their 'Age of Trippiness' with us. The 6th track is a new alliance between Belly Dance Services head Nick Hanzo and German-Greek vocalist Geraldine. Together as 'das molekuel' their emotional 'Chasing Game' will swirl up your serotonin level.
The molecules continue exploding while listening to 'Unity', a very hip collab between Lithuanian sound doctor Bojarchück and Madrid-based Chilenian wizard Persona RS. After travelling between various continents the journey finally arrives in the capital of Austria. 'Cato' by Peter Zack will complete your summer with dreamy elements and dubby vibes.

Things had changed since people had got word of the untouched beauty of this forest. Once it had been home to all manner of birds, bugs and animals, blissfully unaware that they would soon be pushed out of their home in favour of humanity. Where tree branches once sprawled and thick green ivy had laced its way into the crumbling brickwork of ancient pathways, now glass buildings towered overhead and chain coffee shops teamed with tourists getting their morning caffeine fix. Regeneration had taken over, gentrification had creeped in. The endless battle of man vs nature.

For their seventh release, Vienna-based imprint Belly Dance Services enlist the talents of Mexico's Bufi AKA Theus Mago. Titled Baile Muerto, the EP flaunts Bufi's signature take on modern dance music; at times dark and hypnotic and at others bright, percussive and tropical-tinged. Both original tracks on the release are backed up by two remixes, one from label heads Hanzo & Yaman and another by Multi Culti boss Thomas Von Party.
