Pressure Dome welcome in the new year with their second vinyl direct from the test-bed, a split EP showcasing two rhythmically focused beat-architects; Joe Craven and Human Resources.

Following a head-turning debut release on Scuffed Recordings, Joe Craven delivers two more imaginatively designed polyrhythmic workouts. Airy, distant pads and delicate percussion roll over driving kicks, giving ‘Hurt Potential’ its detailed futuristic landscape while ‘Dyeus’, with its high tempo distorted breaks, chopped vocals and distant piano riffs takes us to an altogether more abstract space.

On the flip, Human Resources takes us forward in his own singular style with the thunderous ‘Shaq Stem Edit’, combining cymbal heavy breaks, huge subs and prodigy like bass leads that mutate with club-shattering velocity, and on to ‘At Tanagra’, where pitching leads and sporadic, wonky mid basslines hold a tough, yet mysterious energy and drive.

Both enter the Dome with their individual technical form, the perfect additions to our collective of phonic explorers.

Dear Earthlings, 

We gather that dark times lay ahead of us, the unpredictable trajectory of this outbreak is out of our hands as we enter a period of real uncertainty. For our music industry we hold so dear, our musicians, clubs and festivals, the agents, promoters and dancers, and all others involved in making our industry what it is today, this has far-reaching implications for all of us. 

Viral Syndicate is a digital compilation series formed by ourselves to help support artists financially during the Coronavirus outbreak. All proceeds will directly fund artists involved with the release, or towards a charity of their choice if the artist prefers. We hope to deliver these compilations on a regular basis to help fund artists as much as possible. This is our way of helping our scene stay afloat during this difficult time. 

We hope our project and the music we’ll be sharing through this series will shed some light over this darkness.

The wet mud and grit felt cold against his cheek. He tried to focus on this sensation, rather than the muffled shouts and jeers from behind him. Slowly and carefully, he heaved himself off the ground limb by limb, panting heavily as he swayed onto his feet. Straightening up, he looked them square in the eye. Disbelief and fear spread across the faces of these perpetrators. They didn't think they'd have this much of a fight on their hands. It didn't matter how hard their punches or how vicious their insults; nothing would keep him down...

After contributions to Volume 2 and 3 of their Of Paradise compilation series, the label of the same name have invited Nuremberg-based producer Lazarus back for his first full solo outing on the imprint. Downwards is a ride through futuristic techno and breakbeat; maneouvering from deep rhythms and stabs of percussion to bright melodies and ferocious drum patterns, with each track showcasing Lazurus' knack for texture, expanse and emotion.

With ‘3 YEARS OF E-MISSIONS’, the New York based label embarks on its largest project to date. Taking in thirteen tracks, the compilation brings together some of the label’s core artists such as Tred, Rush Plus, and CYD along with extended friends and family like White Materials boss Young Male and Enemy Records’ Dustin Zahn.

Sonically, the compilation perfectly exemplifies the E-MISSIONS ethos. Drifting from grinding, rave speckled techno through to wistful electro, all tracks are firmly rooted in the club yet never afraid of veering slightly off-piste. The resulting collection is an impressive curation of the label’s signature sound to date, as well as a glimpse into the exciting future of E-MISSIONS.

Helmed by P.leone and Caiazzo since its inception in 2017, E-MISSIONS has cultivated widespread respect for releasing cutting edge, off-kilter techno from a tight-knit group of artists approaching club music from unconventional angles. ‘3 YEARS OF E-MISSIONS’ is a roaring yet neat summation of a fresh label in it’s prime.

UK producer BufoBufo (Ritual Poison / Batrachian Records) brings his amphibious sound to the growing Scottish Highland based label. The ‘Potholing’ EP takes its name from the definition of ‘underground cave exploration’, with three original tracks that pull you further into the deep, dark sounds of underground rave.

‘Cave Network’ sets the tone for the EP, immersed in acid-like textures, deep sweeping pads and interchanging breaks rhythms. Second in is ’Giant Antlion’ with cosmic style analog arp’s that lift towards a hefty breaks / bass combo, then ‘Blue Demoiselle’ takes you back to the surface with a rolling breaks number smothered in dreamlike pads and uplifting melodics. London based producer - and Ritual Poison co-runner - Corporeal Face ties the EP up with a phenomenal twist on ‘Cave Network’.
