Bristol based imprint FutureBoogie delivers rock solid nu-disco and house 12"s for already five years now. Their latest release to date by Lauer certainly didn't disappoint and they're now rolling into spring
with a heavyweight one from dastardly duo Ron & Neil Aka Ron Basejam and Neil Diablo, who between them bring years of musical chops and (most importantly) "the funk" to the table.
In its Original Mix, ‘Perdre Son Éclat’ is a breezy yet sturdy slice of atmospheric synth dance, resplendent with swirling riffs and stammering bass. A thunderous Roland CR-78 drum pattern keeps everything in check, and its sultry french vocals flitter between spoken word and harmonious refrains, lacing the track with a superb "new wave" feel.
Here premiered, a remix comes courtesy of Man Power, the musical enigma that traded on his anonymity for a couple of years before coming clean as the English DJ/producer Geoff Kirkwood. Having released on labels like Hivern, Throne Of Blood and Correspondant, Man Power takes "Perdre Son Éclat" into even deeper territories, crafting a moody and spacious version that respectfully stays close to the original mix. After a splendid, sought after 12” on Pyramids Of Mars, an already expensive edits split Ep with Red Axes on Edit Service and his highly original and acclaimed self released debut album “Don’t touch my sister” Rouge Mecanique delivers a stone cold classic Ep for Discos Capablanca. The psychedelic steady muscle of ‘All Will Be Changed’ aims to destroy visionary dance floors. ‘Sans Scrupules’ is the most surprising acid banger you will likely hear this year. ‘Ampedusa / Xaver’ defies description and its mutant sound could evoque ecstatic early minimal house references, kraut and concrete music. ‘Can I say’ is simply put the most elegant, languid way to say goodbye to an Ep that exudes sheer brilliance and character. A2. Rouge Mecanique - Sans Scrupules

Shiny Objects returns to Roam Recordings with the brilliant Lights of Fire EP. After a successful year running his iconic San Francisco clubs Monarch and the Great Northern Shiny Objects aka Chris Smith rejoins Roam to follow up his previous Bad Acid and Purest Sound EPs with two new originals. The title track is a low slung slice of beautiful electronics that is at the same time meditative, blissful, comforting, and unique. The other original, Dirty Darlins, ups the tempo while adding a hint of dark disco.

The EP is supported with two excellent remixes. The first is from Man Power who remains faithful to the intent of the original Lights of Fire while turning it into a dance floor burner. Also joining the EP is Spanish DJ/Producer Undo who brings a dark big system electro flavor to Dirty Darlins.

The originals and remixes that make up the Lights of Fire EP continue to bring a variety of unique sounds and moods for which Roam Recordings has become known.

Julian Bainbridge is set to release a new EP on Sounds Over Seas, this track taken from the forthcoming EP is a beautiful cosmic voyage through the unknown. Wonderful arpeggios are paired with deep, moody pads in what is a beautiful realisation.
