The fruit was luxurious and sweet. She plucked it from the trees within the grove, the tall fences which lined the beautiful green branches seemed not as fierce and frightening as they first had when she had arrived. The manor house cast a long shadow down the garden and in the distance she could smell the delicious cooking of her mother. She ran between the leaves excitedly for she had spent too long beneath the sun for now. It was time to retreat to the shade. 

Olde Gods return with a gorgeous sun kissed sound as part of their new Tapes project. Fun edits with a dance floor focussed twist for the adventurous dj.

Darkness had fallen upon the grasslands, illuminated only by the moon and a million glittering stars. This was where the inhabitants of the land could be free, away from the sun, away from daylight and all the trials and tribulations that came with it. The black canvas of the night sky had become their safety blanket, they were creatures of the night, nocturnal animals. Under the yellow gaze of the moon, they danced and frolicked abandoning the worries that daylight would bring.

Barcelona-based collective, party hosts and label Playground Records gear up to release a collaborative EP from Leonor and Nasiri, a dark hypnotic journey through chugging beats and flute-driven percussion. Several producers step up to remix the original tracks including Damon Jee and Kuunde but our favourite comes from Polish duo Mytron & Ofofo who are a perfect match for this whistful percussive cut.

Fresh off the drop of the second volume in his 'Holiday in Panikstrasse' diptych for @malka-tuti, French born Berlin-based producer @cosmo-vitelli joined us for an in-depth chat, covering topics as diverse as his relationship with Berlin and Paris, his beginnings in the so-called industry and the evolution of DJing over the last decade.

Berlin based Dame Bonnet makes music influenced by post punk and cold wave and with a primitive and reverb-drenched production he creates a tragic dream for the listener to sink in to. The music has a sentimental feel to it but the pretentions are avoided thanks to the direct sound and the unremitting drums which contributes to give the tracks a forward momentum instead of a stuck in place-feeling.

Dame Bonnet makes sad club music with traces from the early eighties In England, a society ravaged by the cold individualism as a result to neo conservative politics - a time that resembles ours, where people gets categorized out of prejudice and the social welfare systems are uninstalled bit by bit in front of a sparser crowd of woke people. In Europe, now in the 2020s, a supposed dead ultraconservative monster is coming alive again and Dame Bonnets music makes the soundtrack to that process.

This release, Dame Bonnets first on Höga Nord Rekords, captures, though the songs are all instrumental, an unpleasant atmosphere in our time. The music has its roots in 1980s England but it fits perfect also for the cold present of 2020.
