Turbo Recordings is proud to present a 12”-inch vinyl release of Tiga’s trance pilgrimage to the centre of your personal space, “There Is No Distance Between Us.” Co-produced by Tiga and on-again/off-again musical life partner Jesper Dahlback, the track was originally released digitally as a b-side to the Tiga mega-hit “Easy” earlier this year, and is now available in its glorious physical manifestation with an insane after-hours techno remix from Paris producer u.r. trax, perhaps the first Turbo artist with a Master’s Degree in something other than Comparative Tiga Studies. 

“Yeah, I’m back up in your area,” says Tiga from atop the rock-climbing wall inside his virtual panic room. “Something just didn’t sit right with me about this track not existing on the material plane. Here I am singing about human connection and not giving you something you can hold in your filthy hands? Anyone who knows me knows I hate hypocrisy, so I had to make things right, vinyl-style. If I could make the world’s problems go away by pressing records, I would. And I can, so I will. This is only the beginning."

The maze represents a beautiful metaphor for the many twists and turns of our lives, and is a symbol of hope and opportunity. Unlike the labyrinth, which has only one entry and exit point, a maze has multiple potential starting paths and endpoints.

At certain times in our lives it may seem as if there is only one unattainable way out, or worse yet, no way out of a seemingly insurmountable situation. In these moments we may feel trapped, cornered, hopeless, immobilized, or driven to desperate behavior by feelings such as fear, despair, regret, shame, or dread. These hurdles may lead us to respond with extreme emotions which can lead to hopelessness in any chance for change, the urge to give up on life or whatever we are engaged in, and feeling completely alone in the world. Severe depression and anxiety are some of the treatable conditions which can cause such symptoms.

The maze shows us that there are multiple choices in the paths of our life’s journey, and many chances to improve our situations through conscious change. There is always more than one way to solve any of our problems or to accomplish any of our goals. There is always another way out, a potential for change, and always hope, even if we cannot see these in our darkest moments.

All of us, even the most self-sufficient, need help and guidance at some point and for many different reasons. We cannot always plan or predict what the future holds or where our life’s journey will lead us. More often than not, things do not unfold exactly as we had imagined, for better or worse.

Unexpected circumstances may lead to challenges. These tests, however painful or impossible looking, represent multifaceted potentials for change and growth. It may take time and patience to work through these challenges and understand how to change course or persevere on our current paths.

There was a long process by which the machinery must be registered and set in place, the factory was cold and dark in preparation of the work to follow. Several men stood around watching as the lights and sounds began to modulate in this large open space - it was chilling to think of the raw power which existed, echoed and reverberated between these old walls. Once this had been a place of industry, a symbol of economic strength and power - now it would be used to undo the work of a generation and blow it all to pieces. 

Lydia Eisenblätter is set to release a new EP on OAM - the second outing on the label who have described the context behind the music and imagery as follows:

"The Shrine of Oinari- san is used here as a metaphor. It is a well  known passage in Japan that leads to the sacred ground on the mountain of Inari. Lydia uses the production and titles of tracks such as "Walk" and "Modulate" to describe her personal way of life on her own Inari."
