South London label PROGRAMM are starting life with a three-track V/A, which gives a taste of what you can expect from their releases to come. With a mission to deliver soundsystem frequencies that will make you dance, the label and party will also act as a platform for emerging producers and DJs pushing UK bass music. If there's one sound running riot through the underground electronic music scene right now, it's a drum break. As someone who's been slotting Amens in tracks since 2017, London producer Breaka isn't just hopping on the trend. The second release on his own label, 'Breaka002', shows off three cuts of exploratory dancefloor sounds, and we're premiering one below. "I started this self-release series to give myself a chance to release some slightly different sounding music," Breaka says. "That continues with Breaka002 - for 'Steeze Flex', I wanted to make a rolling groove out of some favourite samba and Afro-Cuban beats, and then supplemented them with some moody synths and horns." Bringing trumpet and horn textures into stuttering drums and tripped-out vocal snippets, you can listen to 'Steeze Flex' below.

Monkyman - Acid Love Story

The sound bounced and wandered drunkenly between the walls leaving intermittent dancers spellbound and swaying in the breeze. It was loud and abrasive, echoing between his ears like some sort of hypno techno blend of melody and machine. Where was he? How had he gotten to be here? Where were his friends? His mind raced as the music continued to ooze and seep into every inch of the space leaving little to no escape from the dense, magnetic sound...

Matteo Coffetti takes us on a slow moving tour through hypnotic electronic excursions on his own Pho Bho Records. It's a wonderfully weird affair made up of rolling acid arps and quickfire samples. A highly recommended release we expect this one to do very well indeed.

I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was at an exhibition in Zürich from Pipilotti Rist, but it was actually a cover version by herself. I knew, one day, I’ll also make my own version from it. And here we are now.
