Rumour had it that he was invincible. At least that was what he would like people to believe as he looked out from the Ivory Tower. When he had been appointed as the new leader people had thought him to have super powers, that was how the story was told throughout the land. Little did they know that he was as washed up and tired as they come. A weakened man battered by the elements of the day and a political dart board for all around. This was no noble position, it was simply an elevated chair. The story would gone on, but whether he would remain was another question entirely. 

Melchior Sultana goes deep, like really, really, really deep. His latest EP for Three Fingerz Musique is enchanting and elegant as he guides us through melancholic pads and lush percussion.

Aus Music follow up a string of releases from Shenoda, Recloose and Marquis Hawkes with a Disco-tinged 12” courtesy of a fresh signee and Millionhands head honcho Tee Mango. Having so far almost exclusively released on Millionhands alone, Tee Mango makes a rare appearance outside of his home turf and in doing so follows on from his acclaimed ‘Imperfections Vol.1’ LP which garnered widespread following from the likes of Axel Boman, Palms Trax, Gilles Peterson and Bonobo.
 
His EP#1 for Aus carries forth the sense of raw, sample heavy soul that was the real spark of Imperfections Vol.1, while maintaining a feel for the needs of the dancefloor. Loose, natural drums, deftly chopped samples and hazy synth lines keepit moody. This collection of 4 tracks could be the perfect soundtrack for those early days of sunshine.

Meet French native but London based producer Valentin Lafont who has delivered a mood enhancing B-side flip to the latest BONN Dance Ideas EP. ‘Low Tide’ is a gentle and floaty trip to outerspace with delicate keys and calming percussion. The rolling ocean was a radiant blue, deep green and murky shade of black. The stars flickered up high above as the 100th tide crashed softly against the beachfront. Sat in a little bar he watched the world go by before his eyes as the boats bobbed and danced upon the water in the distance. Amidst the sand there were cries from late night lovers and free spirits, he cared little for their hedonism and romance. He simply sipped his drink and looked out towards the last glimmer of the dying sun. 

Rhode & Brown are set to release a new EP on Slam City Jams, a sun kissed affair which exists as a beautiful, nostalgic reminder of the dream house era. A near perfect release.
