Lifted from his latest “Dreamweaving” EP (https://ffm.to/endm0003), Elninodiablo’s oneiric journey of a tune “Dorothea’s Rainbow” returns in the form of a four-track remix package featuring the likes of Norwegian cosmic disco maestro Prins Thomas, fabled UK vibist Ray Mang and Berlin born and raised talent Perel, in addition to Elninodiablo himself.

Channeling telluric energies and dubby, kosmische-laced electronics through a multi-faceted ride that keeps on shifting angles and tempi, Full Pupp head honcho Prins Thomas kicks it off on the smoothest note possible. Built as a full-fledged 12-minute long mini-odyssey, the track winds out a luscious mix of Afro-funk indebted drums, acid-dyed bass and further cross-pollinated cosmic disco dynamics. Most of the drum and bass parts were played live.

An absolute master groove-musher, British legend Ray Mang (Mangled, DFA, R&S, Toy Tonics, Eskimo… etc.) harnesses the power of the Italo-disco gods to weave a romantically jacking revamp; bridging the gap betwixt straight up electro heat and brass-laden funk from outer-space. Intrinsically tailored for the dancers’ pleasure, this one’s bound to bring crowds to a steady simmer, just as is true with every Mang-led piece of work.

Third in line is Berlin’s own Perel (DFA, Dischi Autunno, Uncanny Valley) muscling in with a hi-velocity revamp, clearly tuned to make heavy damage on the dancefloor. Taking the original in a whole new, 100% club-oriented direction as well, Perel’s version fast-forwards us in an endless corridor of arpeggiated frenzy and lusciously synth-splattered firepower. Bespoke, pumped-up weaponry fully geared for peak-time action.

Final remix comes from Elninodiablo himself, who gives way to the fevered appeal of jungle drums, Venusian disco and powerhouse bass from hell. The result is a no-nonsense DJ asset, boiling up to a hectic momentum of restless robotic flute lines and filtered keyboard volutes painting the background all kinds of vivid summery colours. One to get the tiles of the roof flying off sharp and clean.

Axel Boman - Don’t Breathe Yet

There were all sorts of shapes which he felt might define his sense of self, none of them were simple. It had taken him a long, long time to ascertain whereabouts he might sit within the landscape of this world but after a lot of thought it seemed as though it had been obvious all along.

He had a pentagon flow – a complex shape, with sharp abstract connections and precise angles. This was what represented him best as he danced and weaved his way between the carefully placed ornaments in the gallery. To some it might seem unusual that the pentagon was with what he was best aligned. However, what the hell did they know about fluidity. They could stick to their right angles and their boxes.
 
Mille & Hirsch feature on the upcoming edition of the series from Compost Records. They’ve contributed to what will be the fifteenth edition of the ‘Future Sounds of Jazz’ compilations. This track is brand new and perhaps encapsulates what is the very essence of the concept best. An electronic meets jazz meets house fusion which is as listenable as it is dancefloor ready.

Nomada Records has shown several times that they have a good sense for fresh talents. This time the label spotted the sample-based producer Martin Georgi (quietelegance, OYE Black, Seismographic Records).

He has already popped up in the deep house scene a few years ago, as Delfonic kissed the artist from his slumber by releasing tracks of him which originally were produced on vinyl back in 2008. So, no wonder that on the flipside of the new release, a contribution by Delfonic can be found. It is a live session, originally penned by Georgi and pursuing the idea of bizarre mash-up. In addition, on the B-side you will find another interesting name which can be interpreted as an “alias” of Martin Georgi himself. The A-side acts as an EP called “Motor City Damage Ep”. Here, Georgi was inspired by the rising civic movement from Detroit. While the car industry had abandoned D-Town, they left behind not only a high unemployment rate, but also unused industrial wasteland. Some of those very large areas are used now by a citizens’ initiative for vegetable gardens, bringing in a benefit for the citizens involved. Georgi was so fascinated by this initiative that he sampled and connected interview excerpts from the project, in strong contrast to interview snippets from different documentaries, which focuse on Detroit's suffering from poverty and unemployment. This is how the track “Green Motor Damage” was created. As a musical reinforcement keyboardist and synth lover George John (Kommerz, Gettogether, BlaqNumbers) got to the keys, giving the track a soulful funky touch. Another track on the EP’s A-Side is called “Summer Kisses”, which “romanticizes” the dystopian aura of the city Detroit with idiosyncratic monotony. Here Georgi adapted the idea of film director Jim Jarmusch who pursued a similar project in his film “Only Lovers Left Alive”.The third track is called “Waiting for a call” with a slight wink for the dance floor, but also an ironic statement on the exploitation of employees by outsourcing jobs to call center companies.
