We're delighted to feature his latest track as a free download... what started off as an edit of Pulo NDJ's 'Dabadji Am Alcorama' soon took on a life of its own and we're sure you'll agree is a beautiful work... dark & deep but with a delicious African groove and vocals that we for one can't wait to hear on the dance-floor.

Hailing from Vilnius, Lithuania; Shkema works tirelessly to replicate what he hears in the work of others, but I always ending up with contrasting music solutions.  Initially thinking this was the wrong route to travel, he started focusing on the timbre which lead him to break through. 

Shkema burns the midnight oil, armed with analog synthesisers.  He searches for inviting colour tones and little by little the music structure comes to life - Layering upon a synthesiser foundation with guitar, percussion and anomalous vocals Shkema is a maker of weird music for weird people.

The darkness was ominous and thick, there was little to be seen but for the faint flickering glow of torches as the procession made its way slowly through the forest and into the fields beyond. Watching on from above, it were as if the gatherers were a glowing procession of tiny ants, illuminated orange and gold as they walked away from the foothills.

They would not be back. No, by the time the war was over they would be long gone. He on the other hand would be safe, locked here in his prism of power, away from the skirmishes and scraps, safe from the worrisome world of battle and strife.

He took a firm draw on his pipe and lit the fire. He would never be defeated.
 
Chilean producer Miraclis is set to release a new album on Secret Teachings. This next single acts as a further introduction to a promising musician and the label has done well to bring on board the prowess of Ivan Smagghe and Rupert Cross to remix proceedings.

Together they have collaborated to create mutant versions of a track called ‘Scienter’ – each version as weird, wonderful and haunting as the last.

Some artists try to sound like others, and some artists have others sound like them. The duo, Of Norway, falls in the latter camp - over a decade of forward-thinking creations that are uniquely their own. We're honored to have them back on Do Not Sit with their three track 'Sunflower' EP.

The title track's heavy bass is the balance to the playful horn, while the intro breakbeats clear the path for the straightforward beat midway through the song. Lovely.

Following comes 'Scheffeli', a deep and moody groover that goes and goes.

Rounding it out is 'Burnt Sienna', which takes it even deeper. Lush and opulent pieces of sound interact with the steady, bubbly bass and drums.

These gents know how to create timeless pieces of music.

Cosmic Sumo is a Cosmic Disco and Nu Funk label based in the picturesque Florence, a city in Central Italy and the capital of the Tuscany region. Considered by many academics to have been the birthplace of the Renaissance period, it became a major artistic, cultural, commercial, political, economic, and financial centre in Europe. It is also the home of one of the truly Italian masters of the Dark Synth scene: Tulioxi (SXDNS049), the curator of the imprint, by the way.

After a quality above quantity first semester, delivering some AAA+ works on Latido, Mélopée, and Bandcamp, he is now back on Cosmic Sumo with two enorme & sofisticata tracks, ingeniously constructed and heavily influenced by New Wave and Post-Punk plus Sci-Fi cinema. Distorted guitar riffs and modular synthesisers set the mood of the solid “The Elevator” EP.

Premiered here, “Saturn Copies” brings the aforementioned influences and elements and combine them with a menacing and twisted vocal hook, that’s when you notice how creative and insightful he is by observing that every single aspect of the song is tied to the composition, nothing is too little or too much. Yes, with Tulioxi everything is how & where it must be!

A key fixture in the record bags of DJs throughout the past few decades, best known for their unforgettably odd house anthem ‘He Not In’, it’s been some years since Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith last collaborated as Chicken Lips. As such, it’s with no little delight that Phantasy welcomes them back into the fold with one of their most mind-bending tracks yet, accompanied by a remix from a fellow stalwart of the underground, DJ Sotofett.

Instant and assured, ‘Goldenlips’ unrolls like licorice over ten blissful minutes, mining an undercurrent of post-acid house euphoria into a dreamy analogue jam-turned-trip, a soft and rhythmic vision of dancefloor euphoria that demonstrates a mastermind session of tension and release from two individuals with decades of experience in tipping dancefloors upside-down.

On the flip, DJ Sotofett continues to deliver the unexpected with a more truncated but no less compelling ‘Golden Funk’ mix. Suddenly rolling back the musical clock to the sun-drenched West Coast of the mid-nineties, the result is an oozing, bottom-heavy rework so delicious, it might even have united Puffy and Snoop.

His new album brings a nice decent blends between genres playing out various emotions and unique sounds. Cosmic synthesizers and retrofuturistic  patterns  create a vibe of positivity and call for dancefloor attraction.
