Veltran's "Extrema y Exuberante" EP, out April 26th, 2024, via @bellydanceservices (BDS021), marks the 21st milestone for the label. Compiled by Nick Hanzo and mastered by Oltrefuturo, the EP features two originals by Mexican artist Veltrán and remixes by A-Tweed and Nick Hanzo himself. We're premiering the ace A-Tweed rework.

SomeVersion/Live120RMX” is the final single from Headman’s “DeTurning” album. Robi has reversioned “SomeVersion” with late 80s inflections whilst Sen’s reworking of “Live120” melds retro futurism. Spot the break!

not even noticed are an incredibly talented German duo who have been laser focussed on their signature sound since their foundation in 2020. Hailing from Frankfurt & Leipzig, Carsten & Lucas have amassed a gorgeous catalogue of music that incorporates the ethereality of Trance combined with the gritty, heads-down feeling of classic Acid House and Breakbeat. Their latest EP Source Transformation lands on Faux Poly this Spring.

This release showcases the artists inherent flair for treading the line between delicately uplifting melodies and rattling heavy bass. Each track conjures up a beautifully atmospheric future-acid world that is a dream to get lost in.

Words from the artist:
We started producing this EP in the late summer of 2023 in which some of our project’s biggest releases had dropped. Seeking for a way to stick to our signature sound without repeating ourselves we aimed for new grooves and patterns to combine with our sound sphere. The first three tracks of the EP were produced within one month, while Astral Surge was a few months older and happened to be rearranged to fit into the overall vibe of the EP. When Joe and Warren reached out to us to work with them on a Faux Poly project we had a feeling that these would be the tracks that could make an EP. We’re even more glad the feeling was mutual.

The Mild Pitch label head has stepped out on esteemed labels like Freerange, Compost, Ovum, Innervisions, Poker Flat, and Mule Musiq, and own releases have been treated to refixes by the likes of Pepe Bradock, Ian Pooley, Isolée, Jimpster and Steve Bug.  He has worked remixes for the likes of Jazzanova, Solomun, Dennis Ferrer, Ane Brun, Skylark, Nick Holder, Boris Dlugosch, and Roisin Murphy.  Manuel Tur’s huge production portfolio has resulted in the Ibiza native becoming an demand club DJ playing Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson, Ibiza’s Space, Berlin’s Panorama and London’s Fabric.

On ‘Intertextural’ Manuel Tur delves into more cinematic ambient and trip-hop realms, reminiscent of short interludes from 90s classic electronic albums. These twelve tracks of shifting beat structures, meandering loops, and interlocking dubs, oscillate between sample-based and digital textures to form an atmospherically dense tapestry already familiar from Tur's productions for the dance floor. Originally recorded in the midst of the pandemic, and self-released as a digital album, the much desired ‘Intertextural’ long player is now available for the first time in a physical format and cut to 180g vinyl.

He sped down the freeway, the wild west on all four sides. The heat was blazing down upon no mans land from up above as he drove ever faster into the setting sun.

In the distance he could see the horizon, the end was in sight. Was he being entirely reasonable? Were his intentions pure?

Probably not. But as the car whizzed towards the cliff edge like some sort of extra from Thelma and Lousie, he cared little but for his decisions.

Touch Sensitive are set to release a record from Autumns, who once again channels leftfield experimentation into a bass tinged new album for the label.

Pienių Matas is an alter ego for ½ of beloved brothers duo Deserted Island. Refreshing breaks and positive melancholy is what makes this EP so special to release on Skalbiankė. We’re always aiming for quality vibes and Matas manages to deliver on every occasion he gets a chance to.

Chauffeur is his fresh work. It appears as an invitation for a ride where he allows us to listen to his explorations through new sounds and rhythms. Novatory and sentimental, he clashed those two opposites and made it to one superb piece.

Berlin based cellist and composer Anne Müller, announces the release of her long awaited debut solo album 'Heliopause'. 

Heliopause follows several Erased Tapes releases featuring Anne, including her celebrated collaboration with Nils Frahm titled 7fingers, appearances on Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm’s Collaborative Works, Nils Frahm’s All Melody and his acclaimed soundtrack for the film Victoria, Lubomyr Melnyk’s Fallen Trees, as well as the two bespoke solo pieces Walzer für Robert and Bel Tono for the label’s 5th and 10th anniversary box sets. In fact, a glance at  Müller’s Discogs boasts credits on over 60 releases since she began recording in 2007.

Classically trained at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts under the renowned cellist and conductor Michael Sanderling, Anne Müller performed as a cellist in many of Berlin’s symphonies for some time before choosing a different path with her music and focussing on novel approaches to classical instrumentation. A profound believer in the power of artistic collaboration, Anne’s skilled cello playing and instinctive composition became extremely sought after.

Following her work with Nils Frahm, an enduring partnership with singer-songwriter-composer Agnes Obel ensued, touring for five years together and featuring on two albums (Philharmonics and Aventine) and most recently, working with multi-instrumentalist Markus Sieber (aka Aukai) on his 2019 album Reminiscence. In between all this, Müller also co-founded the progressive live project Solo Collective along with violinist/singer Alex Stolze and pianist/conceptual artist Sebastian Reynolds, releasing Solo Collective Part One in 2017.

A solo record in every sense of the word, Müller wrote, recorded, arranged and produced Heliopause. The album is named after the boundary where the sun’s wind ceases to have influence. It is ultimately, the border of our solar system. The name struck a chord with Müller since the two voyagers sent on an exploratory mission 42 years ago, recently crossed the Heliopause, entering into interstellar space and losing power from our own sun. Müller recognised herself in this moment, not only approaching the same age, but also breaking new ground; having relied on collaborating with so many other stars and now venturing into the unknown with her first solo statement; “Heliopause marks the end of a long journey but also the start of voyages to explore strange new worlds”

Both as the closing title track and album as a whole, Heliopause crosses these physical and invisible borders throughout, sending the cello as a typically classical instrument to exciting new and uncharted territory.

I guess the song is a little influenced by Karl Ennio Mayrricone ;)
During the process we had so much fun to bring the steam-train and horse sounds in time and fill the story piece by piece.

Liquid fell from the sky in small droplets, each raindrop was multi coloured and sweet to taste upon the tongue. Delicate and moist they were a blessing from above, fruit pastel acid which was sent from the heavens like a radiant kaleidoscope of liquid fluorescence. The night was young, his dreams were wild as he careered amidst the city streets in search of his next adventure. Who knew where he might end up come morning, perhaps by then his fears would be long gone. 

Miss Represented is set to release a new EP via Edinburgh based record label Paradise Palms. A slow moving acid tinged affair for heads down dancers.
