The uncovering of talents such as Morgan Blanc is a good way to gauge a label’s vitality. The 28-year-old DJ and producer has been honing his craft since 2015 behind the decks of some of the best clubs in Europe: Badaboum, Petit Bain and Katerblau. As a natural scion of the Parisian scene that was born at the turn of the 2000s, his productions are now landing rather logically on Lumière Noire.
Let Morgan Blanc seduce you with this first batch of productions, from their midtempo onsets through their slow builds, a modus operandi that might remind you of a certain Chloé’s early output. His delicately melodious compositions allow the producer to fully express his musicality, making it hard to choose a favourite between deep opener Always with its interplay of light and dark, Keep Moving with its relentless rolling beats that keeps you on the edge of your seat, the sublimely slow and graceful Pressure with its progressive crest and its final luminous chords, or Whisper Me A Secret with its bouncing bass.
Each track on Confidences delivers a strong identity, a variation on a dark and sensual mood leading to jubilation. The four-track EP already displays a wild maturity that leaves a lasting impression and keeps you asking for more.

John Talabot and Axel Boman teamed up in 2017 for their R&S debut ’The Night Land’ where they got to flex their creative muscles over eight tracks of rich synth jams.  

The two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, but as Pitchfork expressed in their glowing review “Their collective output doesn’t sound much like either’s work; it doesn’t even necessarily reflect the thin, convex sliver where their interests overlap. Instead, they’ve hit upon something new.”

This new sound also proved to be a hit with the likes of Mojo, Phonica, XLR8R, Self Titled and DJ Mag all including it their annual best of lists.

The artists have now handpicked four artists to create their own vision of the Talaboman sound.  
Superpitcher, Samo DJ, Luke Slater under his L.B. Dub Corp alias and Powder have all seriously delivered the goods.

The rippling water was deep and dreamy as he watched from atop the cliff in the heat of the afternoon. Him and his fellow divers had gathered to watch the waves from up above before jumping into the depths of the murky blue unknown later that evening. The tide was too fierce at present and the roaring ocean crashed against the rocky abstract - soon it would be quiet and still. The heat was baking out upon the peak and in the distance they watched the ships come and go. 

Echovolot Records are not one to be placed in brackets - each release is as different and magical as ever but this latest EP from Priori has found a warm place in our hearts.

The next release on @infinite-machine comes courtesy of Australian producer @galtier, who last appeared on the label back in 2016 with the 'Myth Codes' EP. His deep love of bass brought him to Bristol, where he now makes stark, dystopian club music and runs the Nostro Hood System imprint.

The concept for Galtier's new EP 'Terran' is centered around a lone human drifting through space, which parallels the unknown future of life and the endless possibilities that perpetually arise throughout it. The EP is presented as a sense of hope - encouragement to all that even though they often drift through their spiritual life alone, they are not alone on this journey.

Hello and welcome to another edition of the Hot Air podcast for the Ransom Note. This time around we bring you a conversation with a DJ who definitely likes to write her own rulebook. Elena Colombi came to the UK from Italy back in 2007 and quickly immersed herself in the capital’s nightlife. Before long she was promoting regular parties and eventually ended up with a residency on NTS which is where you can hear her every month, keeping Monday’s weird. Her eclectic DJ style perfectly reflects her personality, staunchly independent and always seeking out new experiences.
 
Ahead of her upcoming appearance at Field Maneuvers, I caught up with Elena on a hot June evening at her apartment in North London. Now, I’ve met a lot of people over the years in this business for interviews and I have to say that at times it can be a little bit awkward. But as soon as I walked through Elena’s front door she was just the most relaxed and welcoming person to talk to, and the conversation flowed right from the start. We covered quite a bit of territory, we traced her musical journey from her early days throwing parties in Milan, and also it was great to get her insights into the scene we have here from someone with a slightly different perspective. She was in the middle of packing up her flat to move out of London, and I started off by asking why was now was the time for her to be looking for new horizons.

Keep moving they said as the pace of the queue began to increase with an abrupt whirlwind of activity.

In the moonlight there was little to hold onto but one another beneath the glow of the faint white light up high above in the darkened sky. Close to me I watched the people come and go from the empty bar, they would walk through the illuminated door before observing the bleak and lonely scene with a sense of melancholy and sadness. The night outside was cold and harsh yet in here it was warm and welcoming. If only the rest of the world was simply able to see...

This one is beautiful. No Really. Guaranteed summer bliss reminiscent of the Italian dream house era for the present. The guys from Craigie Knowes found Paolo on Youtube jamming out on some rare hardware and this is his first release. Wow.

The jungle was crawling with strange and wonderful creatures, each was an entity of the present and existed within an ecosystem which would lead to the birth of new life. There was however, but one creature whom played no such part in the development of the environment - he cared little for the growth of others and his selfish attitude was all that stopped the wonderous green bush from living in delicate, perfect harmony. He was the Kropssprog and he had the power to entice and ensare all wild beasts with a devilish, hungry motion.

Sonny is set to release a new four track EP titled "Plastic Worlds" on Koldt Bord. The release orientates around sun kissed house and integrates elements of balearic bewilderment.

Following his recent remix of Nox Vahn’s iconic track ‘Brainwasher’, which gained support from Super Flu, Nora En Pure and Luttrell, Washington D.C.-based DJ and producer Enamour now delivers his three-track ‘Say Hello EP’. 

Opening the EP is title track ‘Say Hello’, first heard on Anjunadeep 12, which features vocals from Malaysian singer-songwriter Meliha. ‘Inquiz’ is filled with intertwining synths whilst ‘Hands That Feed’ features an evolving lead. Enamour’s technical productions have seen him release on labels including Future Classic, Lane 8’s This Never Happened and mau5trap.
