In the vibrant summer of 1984, the sun beat down on the picturesque streets of Bologna, Italy. It was a day like any other, except that the world of music was about to witness a serendipitous encounter that would change the course of Italo dance history.

Claudio Cecchetto, a renowned Italo dance producer and DJ legend, was on his way to Rome for a crucial meeting with a record label executive. As he drove through the charming streets of Bologna, the city's energy seemed to beckon him, urging him to pause for just a moment.

He decided to stop by a local café, drawn by the aroma of freshly brewed espresso and the sound of Italian chatter. As he sipped his coffee, a man with a vibrant aura caught his attention. This man was Oderso Rubino, a well-known figure in the Italian music scene and the founder of Italian Records.

Claudio couldn't help but introduce himself to Oderso, who, in turn, recognized the famous DJ instantly. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, fueled by their shared passion for music. Oderso mentioned that he was on his way to a club where a talented band called Gaz Nevada was performing that night.

Excitement filled Claudio's veins as he realized the potential of this opportunity. He shared his vision for a new Italo dance track he had been working on called 'People From Ibiza' something fresh and exciting that could light up the dance floors. Oderso's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, and he asked Claudio if he had a demo of the song.

Claudio nodded and reached into his bag to retrieve a cassette tape. This was the original demo, a treasure he had been carrying with him, unsure of where destiny would lead him. With a smile, he handed it to Oderso.

The two music enthusiasts made their way to the club where Gaz Nevada was performing live. The atmosphere was electric, and the dance floor pulsed with energy. Gaz Nevada took the stage, and as the crowd swayed to their rhythm, Oderso approached the band with Claudio's demo.

Gaz Nevada agreed to give it a listen during their break. As the demo played, the pulsating beats and infectious melodies filled the room. It was as if Claudio's music had captured the very essence of that moment, blending seamlessly with the euphoria of the crowd.

As the sun began to rise over Bologna, the city still reverberated with the echoes of the electrifying performance of Claudio Cecchetto's demo by Gaz Nevada the previous night. The morning after this historic encounter promised even more excitement and inspiration.

Claudio Cecchetto had spent the night supervising the recording of the demo, alongside the talented vocalist Sandy Marton. The chemistry between the two artists was undeniable, and their shared passion for music fueled their creative energies.

In the studio, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Claudio, Sandy, and the members of Gaz Nevada were ready to breathe life into the masterpiece they had discovered. The song was born right there, in the heart of Italy, a tribute to the vibrant spirit of the island of Ibiza.

As the recording session progressed, the song "People From Ibiza" began to take shape. Claudio's deft production skills brought out the best in Sandy's powerful vocals, while Gaz Nevada added their signature touch with electrifying instrumentals.

This is the original tape of the forgotten initial version, recovered and restored by Italo Disco's collector and aficionado  Craxi Disco.

Sandy Marton - People From Ibiza (Craxi Disco Breaks Extended Edit)

The Paper Family has members worldwide, including Mexico City, so we thought we'd ask them to collaborate. They said yes, so the chaps have remixed each other's tracks and the results are as good as you would expect from two veterans of the scene.

First up, La Guardia De La Luz puts his foot four to the floor for a throbbing, trance take on nu-disco, complete with rave chords for the modern age on the amazingly titled 'I First Learned about Shelley's through a Magazine'.

Picotropico's 'Stoke On-Trent is not in Mexico City Remix' doubles down on the best title of the year, stripping the groove back as far as it will go. It slowly builds to a bubbling acid arp and those hands-in-the-air chords. Shelly's comes to Mexico!

Pico's original, Strangers, drops the BPMS for an acid-driven chugger. Hypnotic and deep, it's a wonky slice of psychedelic house that doesn't fit into any category but simultaneously fits into them all.  

The remix tag team continues as La Guardia De la Luz gives things more of a disco swing but keeps it low and slow, funky and freaky.

In this offering by the Berlin-based and made in the Middle East label Disco Halal, we bring you something fresh from Tel Aviv. Following Naduve‘s releases on Rothmans and Cocktail d'Amore, it’s time for him to come back home. This release comes tastefully spread with Saturn Memories (Marius of Coma) special Tahini remix.
We shook hands with one of them. The handshake is thought by some to have originated as a gesture of peace by demonstrating that the hand holds no weapon. This ancient, short ritual took place several times, here, with some limited success. Does this ritual hold any meaning anymore? The race is long, far from being close to it’s end. It’s a race for a handshake.
This record is one of many efforts to make this race be heard. It may sound naive now, or even pathetic, but what are we to do? When cousins meet at family dinners they might fight each other for the chance to raise the cup “The Father’s name”. This battle is soaked with the music of their family, they know each other by its fabric. We wish to take them to the dance floor and play them music to shake hands to.

The beach was a beautiful place of peace and paradise. In the sky above the birds cruised casually on the breeze. They looked down upon those who baked in the light of the sun below. The golden sand flickered in the glow of the warm afternoon and the gentle ripple of water was the only sound to be heard. The island was a paradse, a spectacular place of beauty and mystique. It would become their sanctuary and soon life would begin. 

Our friends at Les Yeux Orange have recently started their own label. Following the success of their first release which came from WAV Fuzz they have now announced a new EP from n.stal.

Since our first incredible adventure in khazar khaganate, we were hooked and we wanted more, send us music, that was the only message we sent them and they responded gracefully, after working back and forward together, listening to music and planning the future, the time has come, here is Simple Symmetry's first release for Disco Halal in 2017, and to top it all an amazing remix 12” is coming up just a couple of weeks after the release that but more on that soon!

Mexican duo Veltran & Piertt deliver here a dark fulled EP with solid synths and rough beat. Haunting ghosts from dark cites that never sleeps. Remixes provided by Thomass Jackson and James Hadfield to complete the dark experience of that EP. 
Thomass Jackson is argentinian born dj & producer. During his teens he experiments with different musical styles, but always in bands led by traditional instruments. 
Since 1998, he starts a close relationship with electronic music thanks to massive raves being held in Buenos Aires. He hangs out with friends who own recording studios and from these sessions came two projects that were edited by Sonic 360 (UK). By this time he begins to play bass for dance act Capri (Gigolo Records) that leads him to world touring and other high end musical ventures. 
Finally in the late 2000´s he starts releasing his brilliant music through renowned labels like Gomma Records, Correspondant, Electrique Music and La Dame Noir just to name a few. He has remixed artist like Astro, Luke Temple, Ilya Santana and Iñigo Vontier & Dan Solo. 
Spain, Mexico, Germany, Bolivia and USA are some of the countrys where he has played and has shared booths with: Poolside, Tiger and Woods, InFlagranti,Naomi Ruiz, Blond:ish, Thomas Von Party, Horse Meat Disco and Mike Simonetti just to name a few.
He now lives in Mexico City where he's a resident at some of the best clubs like M.N.Roy and Mono.
