Jimmy Asquith follows up his massive dancefloor-crushing solo debut 'The Conditioning Track' with a four track techno-house-bass EP that shimmers with London-via-West Yorkshire influences. 

Treading further down the path of UK bass, garage and house - whilst incorporating a heaving mid-Germany techno edge and the skippy NY-Jersey sound - this EP sees a breakout in four directions and a smatter of extra colour in the producers pallet. 

Hard Skippin' (Cream Dub) is the huge garage-house A-side. Taking UK house back to it's 90's roots whilst giving a nod to both North & South England garage styles. Title track Never Alone is a techno bomb straight outta Berlin. Channeling a bit of Wax and EQ'd, this is high-tempo, synth stab-heavy stuff with choppy French house undertones. 

On the flip we have Hot Hot, a reimagining of UK funky through a techno club lens. A no frills drum, bass and vocal track that oozes rhythm and lands heavy with each drop. Lastly we have NRG Mix, a stepped rhythmic filtered slab of dub techno that washes and waves from break to break, steeped in rumbling subs.

Marco Bläsi and Luigi Urban first appeared on Matt Edwards’ label two years ago with an unforgettable remix of Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’. Since then the pair have continued to helm their From Another Mind imprint, as well as returning to Rekids for their ‘Himmel Und Erde’ release, not to mention remix the seminal ‘Grindhouse’ alongside Slam. Joining the label again, the duo present three cavernous cuts highlighting why they’re considered such a key driving force behind Southern Germany’s techno scene. 

Featuring their signature echoing kicks, ‘Der Strum’ includes syncopated snares, scintillating pads and piercing stabs to forge a peaktime cut. ‘Zeit Des Erwachens’ is more of a roller with its undulating percussion and quivering bassline, leading into the effervescent ‘Tränen Der Sonne’ with its twisted arpeggios and rattling hats.

Jamming things up once more, we‘re pairing Chambray with long-time Figure-affiliate Truncate for a pair of exciting floor-killers, then go out with some fresh take on techno by Biri.

No Stress is exactly the reminder needed when letting things flying in all directions with this unpredictable, spiraling power work-out. Trax 4 The Club pays homage to the its heritage but shoots way beyond the treaden template. Tongue-in-cheek and swinging widely, this one hits far more carefully than expected, yet all the more satisfying when it does!

On the flip it‘s Biri deploying his rigid style of layering sounds which he makes seem fluid and lively, never changing things up too soon or too late. By such his drive along the meticulously shaped arps on Snox101 stays a constant thriller, while Through The Fields becomes an ambient-leaning excursion through time and space, opening up the body and mind.

Ceili curates another head-rush compilation of squirming, writhing, fizzling techno on 'Speed Bumps', the second VA on his self-titled imprint. This second edition takes a more alternative perspective on todays highly scattered electronic scene, dragging in smaller talents alongside more prominent names laying their hand to less-ordinary and a more scrunched sound palette. The 16 track compilation comes wound to a limited VA cassette across 90 minutes of unpopular techno-trash essentials from the seething opening A, to brain-dancing crunch, to the earthward closing B.

This time tripling in mass, the release pulls together a neat little gang of electronic cable-fiddlers. Speed Bumps contains a wide array of audio beat-science thanks to the 18 contributing artists pushing 2020’s headway techno. Bouncing between techno, IDM, industrial, breakbeat, hardcore and wavy noise. The compilation includes noted contributions from DJ KETAFLUSH, Tom Hang, Oneyra, DJ Whipr Snipr and Oleka, alongside a host of new talent plus collective head Ceili.

He walked the city streets alone, isolated with little else but for his own emotions and thoughts. His feelings were wild and reckless, at least that was what he'd been told many times across what had been a lengthy career. Now he was beginning to doubt himself, was it time to give it all up and move on? Could it be time for something else? Did he have anything left to give? The sidewalk was a lonely placed for the common man, if you counted the faces of the people on the street you too would find a weight of sadness beneath each upturned smile. They all had feelings too. 

Of Paradise are set to release a new EP from Oall Hates, an aptly funny anagram for well, you know who. The "Tranceporter" EP is rowdy and energetic, we think you'll enjoy it. We do.
