The square was vast and wide, only a handful of people were strolling around in the cold, harsh morning air. The myriad of shops bordering the cobbles were beginning to open; awnings out and signs propped front, right and centre, advertising all manner of trinkets, treasures and memorabilia. Soon the place would be brimming with visitors from near and far, all looking for something unique to bring back home with them - for a piece of this place, a memory of a time well spent. 

After their first split-format EP with Anatolian Weapons and LINJA back in 2021, Russian imprint Serenades are returning for another, and this time its Dolphins and Odopt sharing the wax. Continuing the series' mission to connect artists from different places around the world, the release features two tracks from the project of Benedikt Frey, Markus Woernle & Nadia D'Alò as Dolphins and Grigory Nelyubin & Ivan Maslov as Odopt. Strains of downtempo, leftfield and psychedelia all interweave: there's music for losing yourself and forgetting your worries on the dance floor, and there's also sounds for introspection and deep listening.

Cititrax is proud to present a 4 song EP by Broken English Club. After the strong reception of the Violence & Divinity split with Silent Servant as well as his solo EP for Jealous God, here Oliver Ho (also known for his Raudive alias) continues in a similar vein, delivering sparse vocals and shards of live instrumentation over heavy, stuttering beats and bleak synths. The tracks on this EP are rich and darkly atmospheric, pulsating loudly through a smog filled dance floor. A subversive spin on dance music, the blank-stared, pin-point-focused electronics and layers of noise betray no/wave and post punk influences, dragging together industrial experimentation and pitch-black techno. Artwork designed by Veronica Vasicka and sourced from the archives of Silent Servant, the Broken English Scars EP features a one of a kind vinyl pressing of white inside clear – limited to 999 copies and housed in a matte printed sleeve. Ricardo Tobar returns to MUSAR with 'Knitting' - a four-track EP blending dancefloor intimacy with raw, analog spirit. A two original cuts from the Chilean producer are joined by standout remixes from synth sorcerer Pye Corner Audio and cosmic rave queen Nightwave.

The EP opens with 'Los Siblings', a distilled snapshot of Tobar’s current sound: intricate arrangements, ethereal melodies, heavyweight bass-line and a vintage edge shaped for the club. “I’m embracing the dancefloor,” he says. “This is me doing tunes I would like to dance to.”

On the flip, 'Knitting' unravels from a simple arpeggio into lysergic ‘’Stereolab’' - techno chaos-alive, imperfect, and deeply personal. “It sounds like it wants to eat itself,” Tobar reflects. Layers on layers of psychedelia and cosmic melody turn this into a trippy journey track like no one else does.

Architect of foggy club rituals, Pye Corner Audio transforms 'Knitting' into an eerie, trance-tinged club weapon, while Nightwave turns 'Knitting' into a high-gloss, dreamy club stormer.

Here’s „FASRATⓍ Sampler”, an 8-track mini-album preceding „FASRATⓍ”, a compilation rounding up 10 years of Father And Son Record And Tapes, Polish label led by Maciek Sienkiewicz. Note: all tracks are exclusive for this sampler, and will not appear on the main compilation (but all the artists will).
Verlake, with releases for Laral Tapes, Diffuse Reality and K-Hole Trax (and on FASRAT in 2020) starts the record with a pulse-driven deep house cut, complete with dreamy voice sample. This is followed by spiritual meditation in the form of „Wdowczyk”, by BreakJanek 60 and Bebun, known for their work with both electronic (666VOLVO) and hip-hop (OSIR) projects (and two EPs on FASRAT). Trippy broken beats, catchy bass and loads of fine-tuned details are delivered by none other than Richu M, last heard under this name about 5 years ago – but super active under his Solo Gemini alias (5 albums to date, including 3 on FASRAT, with another coming late this year). Then, a newcomer on the label, renowned and positively super-hyped Gary Gwadera, forward-thinking jazz and folk drummer, praised for his combination of footwork and Polish folk rhythms appears with a bass-heavy tune, followed by Teielte – true legend of Polish beat-making, with several albums in the past 15 years, mostly on super-prolific and top quality U Know Me label (although Teielte’s release on FASRAT in 2017 at one point topped the Juno bass music chart). „Breaking Stars” packs an EP worth of ideas in under 3 minutes-long whirlwind of beats, bass, strings and kaleidoscopic synth melodies. „Pieczara” is a dramatic techno-electro hybrid by Universo, also known under his Kixnare alias, with staccato metallic beats, vintage Electro strings and menacing atmosphere, perfect for late night dancefloors. Also club-ready is a new tune by Das Komplex, top Polish disco/house/Balearic producer with releases on Internasjonal, Is It Balearic?, Step, Love On The Rocks and many more, his tunes championed by, among others, DJ Harvey. Multi-layered, open wide arrangement invites with uplifting pianos, acid bass lines, hard-working hi-hats and moderate in tempo, but quite heavy broken beat. Rounding off this release is producer and engineer @ys, known for his work with African musicians and singers, including production on the latest album by Ugandan maverick mwami. His tune is a short, dreamy, crystalline glimpse into some other world in gold and blue – a teaser for @ys first proper album, due on FASRAT in October.

After many releases on Malka Tuti, our spiritual birth place, we decided to try releasing ourselves for a little while to create a fluid movement from our minds to your speakers. 

This track, alongside another original and remixes from Manfredas and Gum (Jay Watson) & Ginoli mark a new chapter for us. We're happy to have you along for the journey.
