In the midst of the summer of 1988, a duo of artist from Belgium and Italy got together in the surroundings of the infamous X-rated film Rocket 23 Studios Molenbeek to build a seductive sound.

Originally involved in the cinematography and art direction of adult movies, the two mavericks decided to compose the soundtrack of what was going to become a cult movie of the late 80s erotique era: "Sexo y Fantasia".

The Belgian and Italian directors discovered back then the new beat, proto house and italo sound at the underground Ghent disco club "La Pircardía” and at “Club Spaziale” in Rimini, after their wet shooting days. Inspired by this bubbling European hype, they added features and distorted vocals from the X-rated movies they were filming at that time to the melody and beat of the soundtrack. The result is a powerful, unexpected and deep collection of tunes that sound fresh and vibrant today.

These unique tracks get to see the light of the day again thanks to the finding of the filthy master tapes together with a provocative fanzine somewhere in Brussels. Its images served as raw material for the adult artwork.

"Sexo y Fantasia" gets now revisited by current producers on the leftside of the beat: t-woc uses his masterful expertise to build an atmosphere of Balearic layouts, while Alexander Arpeggio works his way around a hypnotic and punchy remix of the original theme.

The room was empty yet still the music bellowed loudly and echoed. Stood over by the front left stack he began to sway and move in time with the beat of the drum which throbbed and reverberated inside the large bass bins. Soon the room would begin to fill with people who listened and loved it all as much as he did, yet he was not here for them. The only person he came here for was himself, to feel the noise as it pulsed through the very core of what was left of him.

Some people would forget this night but not him. He remembered every single one, the empty rooms before and afterwards, the smiling faces and the songs which blared loud from the front left stack.

PBR Streetgang are remixed by Hardway Bros on a new EP for Kurtz, a groovy cosmic affair which leans heavily on the raw era of acid house which came before. This one is grounded in longstanding principles and lessons learnt on dancefloors over many years and you’d be wise to take heed and play it loud.

James Bright & Joe Morris come together once again on the Summer Child EP for a second outing on Shades Of Sound. Four tracks of modern balearic cuts infused with inflections of dub, shimmering deep house, cosmic elements and a smattering of acid.

A new figure sashays their way into Bordello. In one hand, a bouquet of carnations, in the other a 12” record. Lauer. Philipp Lauer. Known for his incredible productions on labels like Running Back and Permanent Vacation, not to mention his collaborations, the German all around good guy delivers four gems. The title piece radiates warmth, clean drum patterns giving way to beaming synth bars with vocoder lyrics bopping to the bass. Light hi-hats and a wet snare are the fertile ground from which choral key shifts break to squelching acid in this addictively diverse work. The energy levels spike, like a cork spearing its way from a champagne bottle, for the unbridled enthusiasm of “Frizzante”. Piano stabs, pulsating percussion and an infectious groove. The Summer sun may have set, but Lauer is still at the “Playa” with his playful finale. An off-kilter melody ebbs and flows on a string of rhythms, dreamy tongue-in cheek synth play sailing this 12” off to the horizon.

Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi – AKA Mother Of Mars are BACK, this time featuring the luxuriant vocal delights of Satomi Matsuzaki.

Vito and Gabe are best known as members of era-defining NY post punkers The Rapture and continue their tradition of angular yet danceable, hooky yet challenging musical output with brand new EP, Harmonium Detector.

Title track, Harmonium Detector, is based on the concept of breaking up with your cellphone - something Vito has attempted in the past, with limited success! It showcases Satomi’s lush vocals, transporting the listener to a world of rapturous electronic elation. Its intricate layers of rhythm create a unique and mesmerising listening experience that will have you bopping on the spot in no time at all.

We've enlisted the talents of two incredible remixers to put their spin on the original too. First up is Max Pask, who delivers a disco workout of a remix that adds a new dimension to the original. With his expert ear, he’s teased out parts from the MoM version to create a true disco behemoth - this mix is going to be burning up dance floors all over the world.

Next, Hologram Teen's Espresso ESP Remix takes it in a House-ier direction, with its bouncy, energetic sounds, squelchy bassline and vocodered vocals. Morgane (previously of seminal French Avant-Popsters, Stereolab) has created something truly experimental, yet thoroughly dance-able here, invoking shades of Laurie Anderson.

Finally, the Harmonium Decorum (Edit), provides an ephemeral, radio-friendly version of the original track that still retains its pulsating, fun energy

Bawrut is an old favourite in Lithuania. After many great nights behind the decks, “Good Skills” is honored to finally have him on our released artists resume. His remix for “Tarp Raudonų Šviesų” is a dub version with a twist. Sobek’s version reminds of the musical origins of Good Skills - live driven bass sound. "Rodeo King" featuring Sex Judas hit dancefloor loud - from clumsy original to smoothe bassy killer. Bristol finest Chez de Milo delivered a trippy, bass driven, soundtrack-like breakbeat version of “Walking Down The Streets” featuring Aquarius Heaven. Real urban vibe dedicated to the main room Soundsystem.
