Jonnie SDA was a rogue, a vagabond, a troublemaker. He carried those letters with him as a reminder of his military past and with time they had become his calling card. His appearance was scruffy, his face askew, eyes wild, blazing with the malice of a battlefield left behind. He had always wanted to rebel, now would begin his reign of chaos. Jonnie SDA was in town, and he was sure as hell, here to stay.

And the loop goes on and on and on. Four times, until the end. The wheel would continue to spin, the planet would continue to turn and the sun would set upon this day once more. This relaxation would never be found once more, they were lost, deep within the comfort zone. 

Second Hand Fun is a new label which appear to have hit the ground running. Split between Montreal and Berlin their first release comes from Comfort Zone with an EP named 'The Function'.

I was looking for a place to dance in the dark. A smoke filled room with a rumbling system and an ambience of excess. I asked them to bring me down to the spot, but it was not what I had expected at all. The red walls lined the room with a deathly glow, the black mist prevented my sight, I was disorientated and lost. This was not my idea of fun and I wished I had not asked them to bring me down. 

Tuff City Kids are on triumphant form as they remix M Wylde on Cultures Of Soul. When this one landed in our inbox we knew we were on a to a winner straight from the off: a winning combination. They edit the track into a high energy melodic dancefloor escapade.

The caves of Botuto loomed ominously above the sea, their black, murky depths swallowed up the water and sight was lost amidst the darkness. The waves roared coarsely in his ears as they clattered against the rugged cliff face, this was unchartered territory, no human had ever entered the Botuto. They would soon find out how deep the rabbit hole beneath the water would go. 

'Schaum' is the latest release to emerge from the Faitiche records camp. It sees masayoshi Fujita and Jan Jelinke get weird and wonderful across a sprawling assortment of music which comes in at just under an hour.

The impressive Dofamine returns to Bonzai Progressive with another serving of top notch progressive beats. For My Love is topped off with three stand out remixes from Blufeld, Audio Noir and Jakhira and is a definite must have track for your progressive house arsenal.

Swirling pads and subtle percussions provide the intro on the Original Mix creating a rich atmospheric vibe. Chunky kick drums come through and take over delivering a nice solid warm punch. You feel yourself drawn to the groove as those pads get stuck in your head while a superb deep bassline bubbles up from the depths. A calming melody descends on the sound as that probing bass cuts through the mids and high frequencies. A track with many sides, this one breeds intensity and serenity all in one epic take, brilliant stuff.

Blufeld turns up for remix duty with his Intoxicating Remix, and once again we are blown away with his sound. Blufeld's craftsmanship in making music is second to none, he calls on years of experience in electronic music and is able to turn his hand to many styles. Always a pleasure to have his work drop into the office. The remix opens with a pulsing percussion and sublime pad before a monster kick drum crashes in to dominate and drive the track on its progressive course. As the pads create beautiful melodies a fantastic energy driven bassline weaves its way through the sound creating a wonderfully contrasted sound with hints of trance. The break throws up a stunning breaks sequence against a wall of perfectly tweaked sounds before we're slammed right back into full on mode for the duration. Top notch stuff that is not to be missed.

Audio Noir returns on remix duties with Another Audio Noir Trip. One of the hardest working artists around, this guy puts his heart and soul into all he produces. Over the last number of years he has become synonymous with mashing many genres and styles of music into well polished progressive constructions. On top of this he delves into breaks and wonderful atmospheric sounds. Great to have him on board as always. This Trip begins with a punchy kick drum and a nice reverbed snare while cool percussions start to form up into a steady rhythmic flow. Dark synth chords come into play and set the mood alongside surreal pads. The chords and pads generate a brilliant intense atmosphere charged with expertly crafted melodies as a deep probing bass hypnotizes throughout sitting perfectly within the groove. Mesmeric vocals ring out and add a beautiful colourful texture to the sound. Yet again we're treated to some simply awesome sounds from Audio Noir, enjoy this trip.

Jakhira is a popular name around the scene and this is down to the pure quality of his productions and the fact that he's a nice guy also, but mainly for his outstanding contribution to progressive in general. His productions regularly feature in many sets and have been peaking on charts at top download portals all over the net. Here he delivers his Unconditional Mix and proves once more just what a top notch artist he is. The remix intros with a nice chunky kick and crispy hi hat combo before being joined by some very cool percussions and a warming pad that creates a deep and smooth groove. A meandering bassline enters the arrangement and gives off a wonderfully smooth vibe that takes us deeper into the groove. Darker progressive house elements come through that grab a hold of your imagination, on the break you find yourself totally hooked on the melodies and allow yourself to be lost in the sound. A beautifully serene and captivating slice, perfect for late night and early morning beach parties.

"Toe Sucker", the acoustic evidence that a lot of chefs can cook up something extra tasty indeed, even if the ingredients come from three different continents, as TUNNEL SIGNS, DAVID MARSTON and MAX SCHMITT bring them along from their hometurfs in Australia, America and Europe, with a little extra flavouring provided by Johannes Klingebiel. The product is a spicy slow burner, with a healthy portion of acid added to the mix.

Ing - The first release for General Purpose (GP), a record label created by Len Leise and longtime DJ partner and collaborator Salvador. Leise and Salvador neither plan to release exclusively on GP, nor promise regular releases. It’s a label for when they can find the time, energy, money and, most important, the sound they believe in.
Ing is about embracing change, experimentation and progression. Terrified to follow a format, Leise looked to other genres for inspiration. He turned to his love for dub, afro, post punk and experimental music to find guidance. Artists like Scientist, Jah Shaka, Savant, Adrian Sherwood and Andromeda all in their own way influence Ing.

Four. It's a powerful little number. Four chambers of the heart, four horsemen of the Apocalypse, four points of the compass, four kickdrums to the bar. And now the number of instalments in Permanent Vacation's compilation series, the latest of which features exclusive tracks from the likes of Young Marco, Man Power and Benedikt Frey.

Permanent Vacation 4 is "dedicated to the more beachy side of the dance floor", and we're premiering Alex Burkat's 'Brooklyn Bridge', one of the standout tracks. The New York-via-Philly producer - who's released on imprints such as Mister Saturday Night and 100% Silk - certainly feels right at home here with this dreamy house offering.

The curtain is drawn back to the sound of gentle harps, before the track kicks off properly with punchy drums and an effortlessly bouncy bassline. But the star is Burkat's incredible melodic touch, with a whole series of juicy synth lines competing for your attention.

His 'Elixir' track here gets the six-string makeover from Mr. Tici Taci, Duncan Gray. It oozes hot summers and long drives with the windows down, or waking up on a festival site after having the best night of your life with your greatest and dearest friends AND THE SUN IS SHINING, and you still have some refreshments. Epic and majestic, but never pompous, it's really quite a joyous thing.
