New addition to the podcast series  from Lithuanian duo 12 INČŲ PO ŽEME.

For those that don't know, 12 INČŲ PO ŽEME (aka Simas and Marijus) are residents at Opium Club in Vilnius where they run the world-famous Smala parties along side their partner-in-crime (and previous NOTJ guest) Manfredas, bringing the likes of Vladimir Ivkovic, It's a Fine Line, Hugo Capablanca, Khidja, Red Axes, Autarkic, Moscoman ++++ to the city every month.

They've prepared us an amazing hour-long mix of wonky, dark and psychedelic chugging stuff, the kind you can imagine gets played at Smala as things start to heat up. So sit back and relax or get up and dance to the sound of 12 INČŲ PO ŽEME.

The elegance with which the sun rose was breathtaking. Some velvet morning it would turn out to be but little did they know of that as they watched the sky. Soon it would be time to leave the city and travel outwards into the great beyond, to a place in which the long grasses and the wild rivers ran between the country hills. The train would take several hours, huffing and puffing it would pass between the city walls leaving a trail of fog and dust in its midst...

Sonny is set to release a new four track EP on Koldt Bord, a new Copenhagen based record label with a forward thinking trajectory. Their first EP comes from a new Danish talent and caught our ears straight from the off.

For a long time he had battled against his inner demons, debating with himself as to the validity of his work and the potential of perfection. Now, in his older years he had decided to let things go a little, keep things simple if you will. It was only by such behaviour that one might be able to attain a sense of peace within what they do, he had learnt this the hard way. Many years had been spent under toil and strain, his rallying thoughts repeating their disloyal noise amidst his ears. 

Dj Psychiatre is the next in a line of musicians to release on GASP Records, an imprint based out of Poland. The label has become to one to watch, bringing life to the local scene and allowing new artists a platform to express themselves.

The room buzzed with activity and life, the roar of machines and the shouting of voices back and forth was enough to give anyone a headache. Each phone seemed to ring louder than the last as the calls came pouring in to the station one by one. Each operator was put in a perilous position, it was only the sound of their voice which might lead to a resolution to whatever tragedy had struck on the other end of the line. She observed the scene from the corner of the room with a nervous smile. 

Afriqua is set to release an EP on the much loved R&S Records this month. "Aleph" will be available from the 8th of December and features an enchanting assortment of percussion, melodic soundscapes and dreamy haze.

This was a glorious occasion, an aquatic voyage into the unknown which would take their breath away. Neptune Records is set to release a new EP on the 8th of December. A melodic, enchanting trip through the aquatics guided by Algorythm. This one is a tip.

The house in the woods had always been surrounded by mysterious tales of wizardry and magic, the locals didn't dare venture into the trees. Billie was the only one to have ever seen the old man who lived inside the cabin, a dark and misty figure which some claimed was up to no good. He was the only one who knew the truth about his somewhat strange behaviour, for he was special. As night fell he would wander onced again into the forest to meet his friend, together they would sit aside the fire and dream of the great beyond. 

Jonattan Levingstone is set to release a new EP on the Canadian based record label Parages. He delivers a soulful, well balanced EP which comprises of delicate melodies and intricate percussion. House music at its best.

The noise in the industrial estate echoed loudly in the morning, the grey sky which hung above the compound was eerie and cast a menacing tone upon the day. The Aras factory had long since closed its doors but that didn't stop the building from rattling and creaking beneath the strain of the wind like before. Walking through the concrete sprawl he wondered if there might ever be new life in this place or whether it was doomed to the tragic end as a ghost town. 

Piska Power is the musical alias of Stefan Junge, a German producer operating out of Berlin under the cover of darkness. By day a medical student, at night a musical mogul. He delivers the fifth release on the Power Station label run by Kris Baha.

Serial Error - Drum Abuse (Andith Cole Remix)

@Cosmic-Pint-Glass started in a cellor of a Norwich pub called the Bicycle Shop as an excuse to go down the pub and spin some records. We used to have live electronic acts set up on the pub tables and play records in the cupboard under the stairs.

To date most of the releases have been pub jams, however CPG010 moves into techno territory in style with 2 of artists we’re big fans of…. Frak and @JackPattern. The latter known for the @lustpoderosa label and their dj sets taking revellers on dark trippy journeys through time and space. A fusion of disco, acid, industrial, techno - meltdown.

Kernkraft translates as Nuclear Power and from the outset reverberating sequences visualise a bleak working environment. Mechanical sequences rotate. Clouds of sparking particles swirl overhead menacingly. A kick drum stumbles into actions, the machine has powered up. Cold hi-hats shimmer, and hollow synths give the feel of some sort of labouring workforce.
 
Pressed to black 10" vinyl to 300 copies with hand finished painted sleeves.

Franz Scala was last spotted on Boredllo A Parigi back in 2016 - he makes the move to Bahnsteig 23 for this bold record of synth pop, early electro and much more besides. "Anacondas" has a cheery tone, all sunny synth lines and a laid back boogie rhythm section, while "Thai City" is more like a scratchy beat track for DJs to get clever with. "Shadow Dancer" is one of the record's stand out moments - a muscular pop burner for all 80s romancers to get emotional and funky to. "Rascals" finishes the EP off with some seriously tough drums and some body-popping electro styles that should go down a storm on the floor.

The river was the only route out of the city. It stretched for miles and miles, ebbing and flowing with the breeze that carried it along. Dark green leaves and sprawling branches formed a canopy over the water, protecting this natural place from prying eyes. It felt peaceful, a place for escaping the stresses of city life. In fact, this river held many secrets, stories that would make your hair stand on end. Its beauty was simply a facade...

Next up on XXX, the Dutch label run by DJ and producr SHMLSS, is good friend and Bordello A Parigi alumni Stijn Sadée. After two contributions to earlier releases for the label, he's now set to release his first original EP on the label, which features a remix from Smala boss Manfredas that they locked in after the Lithuanian producer saw Stijn play live last year. The aesthetics of the label are down to Stijn's brother Thomas who worked closely with him to create something that fitted with the music and his influences.
