There were strange markings, sketches and drawings etched into the old brickwork. The scribbles told the story behind the people who had lived here long ago, before the rest of civilisation found out. This was once a great palace, a mysterious temple in which bliss could be found in strange spells, potions, poisons and delights. Now it was simply another place to visit with a callous gaze. What had once been a utopian vision of life, now reduced to a mere tourist hotspot and an empty faceless visitation hall. 

Terror Peaks is set to release a new EP on MOTR, a sub imprint of Slow Dance, a record label from London with which we follow with close attention. The imprint itself sits somewhere between the post punk and experimental fringes of music culture but occasionally dabbles in electronic escapades. This new EP from Terror Peaks is one such outing and sets a marker for things to come.

The weather had been temperamental all week. He'd concluded that it correlated with his mood; blue skies brought productive days and adrenaline in abundance, grey days and downpours invited the demons in. This newfound awareness helped him to control it in part, but if things didn't improve enough he'd decided to depart for warmer climes.

Colombian label NEA$ came into the world last October with a joint release from Medellín-based producer Astronomical Telegram, under his The Baker alias, and fellow producer DJ Pai. Now the label are following it up with instalment number two, with The Baker enlisting the skills of Bogotá's Video Club affiliate Leeon AKA ELO for another joint EP. Made up of four tracks—two from The Baker and two from ELO—'Tierra Santa' pulls from electro, jungle, IDM, acid and breaks influences, culminating in a package of dynamic and hypnotic electronics.

London-based sound mangler & audio-artist extraordinaire Rico Casazza drops his first EP for Insult To Injury, the Ransom Note Records sub-label run by Timothy Clerkin.

And here we have the title track for you to chew over, before the remainder of the release drops here, later in the month; and via 'Catharsis' we're treated to a slow, atmospheric and glitchy IDM cut that sounds like it was recorded in a run-down warehouse somewhere in an industrial wasteland, circa 1992.

The city had started to close in on her; the towering buildings seemed to engulf her very being, threatening to take her breath away and smother her. The irony of living in a place where instant gratification was everywhere, yet the need to escape it for places quiet and serene rung loudly inside her head more often than not. But as soon as she left she knew it wouldn't be too long before she'd yearn for the city again...

As a follow up to the release of last year's EP, 'We Can Never Not Be All Of Us', Bristol-based trio Poisonous Birds have invited peers and friends to reimagine the originals. The six original tracks, which draw influence from art-rock, shoegaze and techno, have been reworked by contemporaries including Loraine James, Exit Lights, ASTRYD and more, continuing what Poisonous Birds' singer and producer Tom Ridley describes as "a conversation" with the peers who inspired the original record.

Jumping across the electronic spectrum, from EBM to trance and jungle to electro, the 15 track-release features original music from Oksa, The Aux, Marino and The Blank Panther.

All sales revenue will directly go to the Support Civil Disobedience Movement Strike Fund in Myanmar.
