Time is running and a lot of distorted frequencies have passed in our eardrums since that first self-produced release on Sony cassettes in 2016. Raw Culture turns 5 and for its fifth anniversary it is its handyman Asymmetrical to blow out the candles.

After his first EP “For Muthafucka Use Only” released in 2017, Asymmetrical returns to his little baby with an album, Blind Faith.
Inspired by Ben Elton dark, savagely comic novel where he imagine a post- apocalyptic society where religious intolerance combines with a confessional sex obsessed, self-centric culture to create a world where nakedness is modesty, ignorance is wisdom and privacy is a dangerous perversion, Blind Faith aims to be a critique of post capitalist society and to redesign the idea and the relationship in the
contemporary club.

Two densely engraved sides for a total of 8 tracks ranging from Ebm to techno, from electro to New Wave, all connected by raw rhythms, noise and distant voices.

PREMIERE : Asymmetrical - Providance

A game of cat and mouse had unfolded in the neighbourhood, the illusive character seemed to be everywhere but nowhere at all. They'd left their mark on many households, on shops and on street corners, but whether these were well-meaning or a sign of impending danger, nobody knew. Whether the mystery would reveal itself, they'd have to wait and see.

South London-based label and party PROGRAMM have been busy cooking up lots of exciting things for the year ahead, starting with a new white label series, 'Untitled Series'. Their second label outing following last year's inaugural VA - premiered here - the first 'Untitled' release comes as a VERY limited run of 10 copies on 10" lathe cut plates, with hand etched artwork on the reverse. Don't sleep, these will be gone before you know it. And, if you aren't lucky enough to nab one, keep your eyes peeled for round two...

London-based sound mangler & audio-artist extraordinaire Rico Casazza drops his first EP for Insult To Injury, the Ransom Note Records sub-label run by Timothy Clerkin.

And here we have the title track for you to chew over, before the remainder of the release drops here, later in the month; and via 'Catharsis' we're treated to a slow, atmospheric and glitchy IDM cut that sounds like it was recorded in a run-down warehouse somewhere in an industrial wasteland, circa 1992.

The city had started to close in on her; the towering buildings seemed to engulf her very being, threatening to take her breath away and smother her. The irony of living in a place where instant gratification was everywhere, yet the need to escape it for places quiet and serene rung loudly inside her head more often than not. But as soon as she left she knew it wouldn't be too long before she'd yearn for the city again...

As a follow up to the release of last year's EP, 'We Can Never Not Be All Of Us', Bristol-based trio Poisonous Birds have invited peers and friends to reimagine the originals. The six original tracks, which draw influence from art-rock, shoegaze and techno, have been reworked by contemporaries including Loraine James, Exit Lights, ASTRYD and more, continuing what Poisonous Birds' singer and producer Tom Ridley describes as "a conversation" with the peers who inspired the original record.

Each day, just before the warm hues of dusk melted across the sky, he rose from his slumber to take to the mountains. The fresh morning air opened his lungs, juddering him from the haze that controlled these waking moments. Day by day he changed his path, hoping to discover something he'd never seen before; that was what got him out of bed every morning.

Born in the medieval city of Fribourg, Switzerland, Rababoo is a new record label helmed by friends Emmanuel Küng aka OneFootStep & Nicola Marthaler aka Oase. For their first outing, they've invited former local producer Marcel de Sie—one half of new wave and chanson duo, Reymour—to take care of proceedings with 'UMA', his debut EP under this alias. Made up of three original tracks, complete with remixes from Dark Entries alumni Anatolian Weapons and Stroom affiliate Victor De Roo, the release draws from industrial, techno, minimal synth and coldwave, exploring different dance floor narratives.

Revered label On The Corner records reveal the first instalment of their newly forged ‘Double Drop’ series, pairing together two EP’s from two different members of the OTC family, delivering a cosmically twinned, action packed slab of wax.

The A-Side see’s Copenhagen based producer Uffe turn in his new ‘Not All The Stars’ EP. Having enjoyed a successful career with releases on the likes of Tartelet Records, Uffe found himself taking things back to basics whilst creating this latest EP, and putting a lifetime experience of weird and wonderful sound hunting to good use. 
He channels classic rocksteady roots samples, oscillating synths, intergalactic textures, sky-staring vocals, bedroom recorded ambiences and marching dance floor ready rhythm sections into one basement-rattling sensory experience.
On the flipside, Petwo Evans present their rugged ‘Bootstrap’ EP, a moody venture through leftfield club sounds.
Comprised of drummer / percussionist / producer Rich Thair and experimental DJ Jake Williams (Who have released on their own label Petrax, Huntleys & Palmers and Belters, and tracks for On the Corner and Touched Music and worked on numerous projects as part of Red Snapper and Toob, releasing on Warp, Process and Lo Recordings.)
Petwo Evans is the experience of listening to contemporary global club culture whilst looking out over the Welsh landscape. 
Much of their work to-date has been made during live sessions on a remote farm utilising rhythms using found objects (tumble dryer, a plastic tub, a broken piano and some pieces of metal) which are then looped, processed and mixed with electronic machines to create music that reflects the scenery: age-old continental drifts, abandoned industrial quarries, and the Blade Runner-esque thrill of driving through Port Talbot at night.
