it's a treat to see Flight back on the productions, this time alongside Battery. Rooted in dub, Overture rolls away with raw drums, a pumping sub and mystical atmospherics before the winding bassline creeps in. The second drop progresses into the darkness as things really get out of hand with that bassline. 

Yet another class release on Jubei's Carbon towards the end of an incredibly strong debut year.

Fixate, a core artist of Exit Records, is proud to present Conundrum, a dynamic mini LP. Spanning a variety of tempos, this collection showcases Fixate’s love for house and techno, blending loop-driven beats with dancefloor energy.  In his own words, “I made these tracks to fit into my own DJ sets, bridging the gap between tempos when playing out."

In the quiet waters of a pond, tiny green spheres float each with a cluster of cells working together in perfect harmony. This is Volvox, a simple multicellular algae organism, nurturing new colonies in its heart, waiting to grow and flourish. Similarly, in the vibrant skateboarding and music scene of French-speaking Switzerland, a young producer named Dimosoundz emerged from within a tight-knit community. Like the Volvox, he absorbed the influences around him, growing his own creative voice from the heart of this dynamic environment. This premise, both visually and sonically representative, marks the release before you.

Dimosoundz is the creative force behind Dimitri Roulin, embodying his musical ethos by fusing personal influences into a rhythmic experience grounded in his passion for bass-heavy music. Although his background as a breakdancer served a subconscious basis towards his current signature style, his journey as a producer began with a unique academic project that merged skateboarding, electronic and sampled sounds. From being deeply rooted in the Romandy skate scene is where he discovered 90s jungle and related sister genres, drawing inspiration from the community’s emphasis on autonomy, support, and authenticity which cemented HTGSW. 

Much like his lifelong fascination with water and its mysterious underworld, Dimosoundz explores vast, unknown realms in his music through obscure samples and non-musical elements whilst infusing his work with a playful, exploratory spirit. For him, music, skateboarding and underwater exploration are paths of creativity and discovery—parallel journeys of digging beneath the surface to find something new. Though seemingly fresh out of the water but already making waves within the Helvetian scene, Dimosoundz brings an original perspective, blending his unique experiences into a sound distinctly his own.

Four years on from their landmark Grassroots, visionary half-time heavyweights The Untouchables return with their third album, Lost Knowledge. The duo of Kate McGill and Ajit ‘Nitrox’ Steyns have carved out a space in modern D&B all their own, building on a legacy that reaches back to the late 00s to keep pushing into unexplored terrain with an assured and deadly line in rhythmic intrigue and atmospheric immersion. 
 
Lost Knowledge launches into action instantly with the high-pressure drum science and dubby splashes of ‘Drunken Bells’, capturing the loopy techno propulsion and rolling intensity that drives so much of the output on Samurai Music. Where The Untouchables excel is in finding variety and nuance in their relatively forbidding, pared down sound.  

Nothing happens by accident or feels out of place — McGill and Steyns are in total control, and they demonstrate incredible range and inventive approaches within their focused style. The accent of the grooves shifts, and individual sounds carry all kinds of artefacts, yet everything gets folded into the exacting Untouchables sound with a liberal dubwise sensibility. Brimming with inspiration and immaculately produced, on Lost Knowledge their one-of-a-kind sound is stronger than ever.

@EtappKyle’s first full Ostgut Ton EP release sees the Ukrainian-born, Berlin-based Berghain resident emphasizing the connection between spaces, while avoiding Techno’s overt intergalactic clichés. By partially linking to his ‘Continuum EP’ (Unterton, 2016), the results are four tracks of pristine, sci-fi minimalism, propelled by Ambient synths and percussive explosions in distant skies – more utopian than dystopian.

‘Rise And Shine’, the first full Ostgut Ton solo release by Substance (aka @Peter-Kuschnereit), sees him fusing his deep, industrial aesthetic with the resonant bass-heavy leanings of his alter ego DJ Pete, as evidenced on the title track’s off-kilter metallic riddims and multiple, interlaced SH-101 and Prophet 5 melodies. From there, potential set-closer “Countdown” blasts off with relentlessly rattling, scraping breaks, hissing German vox and big chords. The compact explorations of “Bird Cave” and “Distance” offer a more atmospheric take on bass and rhythm, while EP closer “Cruising” re-explores the uncanny, Berlin deep techno cosmos Kuschnereit has helped define, this time in denser form.

DEXT Records continue their stellar run of releases with a new instalment from Pugilist, who previously contributed a track to the label's EleVAte' compilation series. Following releases for the likes of Whities, 3024 and Trule, he now returns for his first full EP on the imprint, a four-tracker titled Siphon. In signature style he flaunts his own fresh take on jungle and garage, inviting Lobster Theremin label mate Coco Bryce to put his own spin on the original adding surreal microprocessing and warping the original speech samples.
