Every sacrifice is a restoration, convicted by historical reality in that lie with which it is undertaken.
Parasols (Ali Renault) applies ABS to the bpm with the new beat friendly ‘Diaz’; a slasher disco stalker prowling the lower east side of somewhere deep in your residual nightmares. Red Corner thwacks hard and dusky like a dustbin full of grit. Now your as giddy as the time you had your first bucket. The mutated commentary that underpins this clash of pans melts woozily into ‘Sacrifice’, which comes on all Baldelli inspired like some Rimini horror fest where Benetton and Timberlands frug it out amongst shadows in the Mediterranean dusk. Bursting with energy the finalimente of this accomplished brace of toons is possibly the standout, ‘Cesana Learning’ leers and lurches with weird gut belches that are both melodic and disorienting at the same time; shifting gears midpoint into some glorious electro chimes that will strike a chord with fans of other post techno luminaries such Ed DMX. Get some of this, enjoy flagellate and try to stay conscious.

Exclusive Renato Cohen - Bismuth (Jennifer Cardini Remix) 

Brazilian artist Renato Cohen makes his PETS Recodings debut with his Lone Ranger EP, which comes with three original tracks and a rare remix of Correspondant and Dischi Autunno label-head Jennifer Cardini. The French Berliner took on remix for Bismuth and turns the track into an Indie/Disco anthem with a slightly deep touch, which takes it into an almost joyful direction – perfectly designed for a moment under the clear blue sky in summer. Cardini serves several influences with her remix approach without leaving her general disco-ish vibe, which not only characterizes her own music but also sets the tone of the music released on her two labels. However, Jennifer's remix for Bismuth sounds fresh if not to say refreshing and, aside from being a forwardly going piece of music, it contains a hopeful subconscious note, those deep chords, that offer the audience a moment of mental freedom, a moment without sorrow, a moment of beauty in a pad-landscape.

Renato Cohen's EP Lone Ranger will be released on PETS Recordings on March 27th, 2020.

Jelly Bean Farm is excited to share ‘Autonomy’ by RNBWS, Maxim Nikolaev. RNBWS is the co-founder of ‘Pkge’ a genre-bending label out of Russia. He can also be found regularly playing live techno sets at the infamous club ‘Propaganda’ in Moscow. UK bass lovers know of his previous releases on Sounds of Sumo and Circular Jaw, though this release marks a distinct stylistic divergence for RNBWS.

‘Autonomy’ delivers five hybrid club-friendly tracks that effortlessly suit a variety of moods and atmospheres. The driving and rich nature of this EP is the result of Maxim’s deepening frustration with political stagnation in Russia that consequently became the inspiration. He hyperfocused on production and reached deeper into his personal musical influences. The result is RNBWS synthesis of early rave & techno, infused with traces of electro-industrial, metal, and horror film scores. This all comes together harmoniously in the ‘Autonomy’ EP. It is
strikingly playful and vibrant, at times sensual and cool with an undercurrent of agitation.

PRÈMIÉRE: Rnbws - Stability Element [Jelly Bean Farm]

There's no story to tell here... Usually we write a poem, a piece of prose or a passage per premiere. However, in this case the story has already been told. A humble gentleman who produced music across decades and lit a spark in the underbelly of British dance and electronic music culture. This EP wasn't supposed to be so poignant. Andrew Weatherall was a friend to many and this much was clear by the widespread outpouring of love which was shown in the aftermath of his passing. 

This record was recorded in a studio down an alleyway in South London as the label describe the coming together behind the EP. 

"When I asked Andrew about these tracks, he told me 'the great thing about not being signed to a major a label is that it’s liberating. No deadlines, no restraints, no pressures. The result - the creative process is completely free. There’s a blank canvas in the studio, you can pretty much go anywhere you want.'

Andrew Weatherall is constantly creating and filing it under various categories so that he can meet the needs of the copious amounts of people he’s made rash promises to deliver music to. His Moton file has gathered some weight and from this stash we arrive at his release for Pamela Records . The tracks were written by Andrew Weatherall with studio pal Nina Walsh sharing the writing credits in part. Nina has also contributed samples from her extensive arsenal of sample weapons."

As he walked through the long grass he made sure to pay special attention to the peace and quiet which hung prominently in the air. There was not one sound to be heard in the park, all of the people had gone home for the day and now he was blessed with the opportunity to walk in solitude between the tall trees and the shadowy groves. He took in the nuances of the environment, the small things and the beauty of the individual flowers and greenery amidst what was a celebration for the senses. This was paradise. 

Invisible Inc. will be celebrating five years this May, a wonderful feat for a small label which has punched well above its weight having released some truly stunning music in recent times. The next release on the label is a celebration of the clubbier side of the imprint, this track is from Puma & the Dolphin, a slow moving textured affair for the discerning dancer.
