For their 4th outing that should be out at the end of the month, they're lurking towards Brazil, inviting local producers "Selvagem" duo alongside "Carrot Green" for an ep melting perfectly electronic flavours and tropical grooves. What are you waiting for? Go on, jump in. The water is warm and a liquid paradise awaits. The poolside was a place of elegant sophistication, ladies watched hazily from loungers as gentlemen swam beaneath the lush blue ripples. Over by the bar the music could be heard pouring from small monitors, it echoed blissfully through the open air and travelled beyond the walls of the palace. All is well for what lies within but over the wall, a perilous plague had began to unfold. They remained happily ignorant inside the palace whilst the world fell to turmoil. 

Red Axes have developed a notoriety unlike few others. In recent years they have powered through the ranks releasing music on the likes of Permanent Vacation, Crosstown Rebels and more. They have amassed quite the reputation. Now they are joined by friends from far and wide on a remix EP for Thomas Von Party's Multi Culti label. He collaborates with them and creates an alternate version of 'Waiting For A Surprise'.

Rob Insinia (AKA Headman's) Relish has been a staple of the Indie Dance scene for the past years and a highlight of the release calander has been the Relish Compilation with its brand of EBM with a live edge. 
With Contributions from artists as far afield as Daniel Avery, Richard Fearless and Tel Aviv based artists like Red Axes.  Relish IV continues to shine a light on Israel's cultural institution by shining a light on Niv Ast with his contribution Tatiana.
Tatiana is a percussive little ditty with plenty of cowbell, an understated bassline and electronic blips which creep on to the dancefloor unannounced before forcing the hips to wiggle. Subtle eastern flavours charm the synths where vocals add that little extra menace to a track which is already understated but deadly.
Headman has always walked the line between established talent and breaking new artists bringing producers like Mondowski and Maya Danon to the fore and Niv Ast is another name to add to the staple of talent in the Relish camp.

On the heels of the success of their very sought-after Edits EP, which found support from the likes of Gerd Janson, Ame, John Talabot, Axel Boman and all our other favourite DJs, ALMA & MATER are providing their first full-on solo EP for Ancient Future Now. And they have an urgent message they like to convey: PLEASE DON’T INTEND TO LET YOUR INTELLECT DOMINATE YOU, freely adapted from a quote by the one and only Susan Sontag, as you can hear for yourself on the first track, the aptly titled SUSAN. And the music around it follows suit; no heady over-complication here, instead we get no-nonsense basslines and grooves and an almost too catchy marimba melody, that will surely dominate your feet. The second tune BLOCKCHAIN follows this path, this time the magic ingredient probably being a cowbell that swirls over the hazy synth pads and bouncy basslines. On the flipside ADA (Pampa, Areal) delivers a delightfully subtle and complex remix of „Susan“, which exposes its inner beauty even more and more after repeated listening. Framing the tune in her unique velvety melancholic world of sound elevates the track to a wholly different level. Rounding off the EP is HADE’s BELGIUM MIX of the same track, which perfectly compliments the other remix by going in the opposite direction. Instead of smoothing off the edges he exposes them even more, adding sampled old-school bass and drum sounds with a twinkle in the eyes.

Originally written and produced as the centrepiece to his 2014 FabricLive compilation, Erol Alkan’s ‘Sub Conscious' arrives on 12” vinyl and to streaming platforms for the first time, accompanied by two charismatic remixes from Manfredas.

Shimmering and undulating, the original cut of ‘Sub Conscious’ was designed with Fabric’s cavernous main room in mind, taking full advantage of any finely-tuned soundsystem with a patient, rhythmic trip. Remastered here, the track evolves out of hazy darkness towards halcyon euphoria in a uniquely Alkan style.

Resident at Opium Club in Vilnius, cult DJ and producer Manfredas provides two hugely creative and alternative takes on ‘Sub Conscious’. The first works hallucinatory magic with a supple bassline and much of Alkan’s original stretched and repurposed around vampish oscillations and a westward vocal sample.

On the contrary, the ‘Stream Of Consciousness' mix sees Manfredas pitch down and strum the bones of ‘Sub Conscious’, unexpectedly delivering a lovingly lethargic, bottom-heavy jam that’s pure dubside pleasure.

Follow-up EP for Multi Culti from this Berlin duo merging sleek Krautrock influences, decades long production experience, jazz-percussion chops and funky German vocals. 

'Kometenschweif' will sound the most familiar to fans of Sascha Funke's club-ready tracks, with percussive and vocal flourishes from Niklas Wandt.  'Kreidekreis' takes the tempo down while ramping up the trippiness, a circular journey into funk bass, synth prog, and again, a percussion masterclass. Finally 'Weg Vom Leder' sounds like a lost Falco tune, brought up to date.

On the remix side, Alexander Arpeggio somehow manages to swing 'Kreidekreis' into a digital reggae slowburner, while Whodamanny turns Kometenschweif toward indie-kraut-wave bop.
