French powerhouse Esthétique Records reaches its 26th EP featuring skilled Madrid-based producer Ivan De La Rouch (FREEDL022/032) who brought some very important friends to the occasion: Mike Sacchetti (SXDNS168), as a collaborator on the track "Gravity", the theme we chose to premiere/review, plus Dannie Fade and Man2.0 (SXDNS081), for the remix duties.

Founder of the massive Logical Records, Ivan’s latest releases can be found on Espacio Cielo, Maleante, PlayPal Music, Emerald & Doreen, and obviously on his own imprint. His previous appearance on Esthétique was in March this year with a solid remix to Javier Busto’s “Into The Darkness” EP.

His return could not be in greater style. The attire: Dark and twisted acid with shards of EBM and Italo Disco. In “Gravity”, Ivan and Mike delivered a trippy and mesmerising piece with a beautiful cosmic atmosphere delivered by the ethereal and melodic pads. The guitar riffs yield a kind of ominous and menacing message while the bouncing acid layer, well, you know, triggers the I-want-to-dance-to-this-track-in-a-packed-club-as-soon-as-possible itch.

Italian based Low Manuel turns in a solid track for JP Soul's Roam recordings. unleashed on the stems is Brooklyn born Berlin based Curses who turns the track into a dark pulsating slow (ish) mo burner with menacing Morricone style guitars, a psychoactive top end percussion and more than a sprinkle of dark disco magic. 
Jagged and unnerving, it seems like another week another cracking Curses remix.

Calypso Records founders Thomass Jackson & Iñigo Vontier set up their label as a way of shining a light on Latin American artists, however for their next release they hone in on Tel Aviv and four artists making waves in the Israeli city. Entitled Tel Aviv Flavors, the EP features tracks from Middle Sky Boom, Niv Ast, Naduve and our pick from Rina; rattling drums and erratic percussion over a deep rumbling bassline.

Summer 18', two heartbroken buds find relief in music, psychedelics, and city palm trees. What started as a way to ease the grief of a heartbreak turned into a wildly mystic duo, a project formed by Eder Solorio (@GlobemasterMx) and Chris Puga (Cumbia Xillers), where percussions, tropical rhythms and the use of synthesizers are the key to go into trance with their sound.
Depresión Tropical :( plays with negative feelings, transforms and celebrates them, where no matter how sad, lonely and desolate you are, you will always end up dancing.
Human heat as a form of energy, in a dance floor where the sun is always up. Man becomes animal to the beat of happy synths and subsonic bass.
Selva neón are the rhythms of a solarpunk future that has surpassed human-kind. Nature and technology are now living together among tribe war cries, more synths and jungle-ish club vibes.

INCOMING : Vini Pistori Feat Abrão - Sobrevivendo O Desacordo (Iñigo Vontier Remix) #Calypso

The Calypso cult keeps spreading around the world and this time they welcome: Vini Pistori and Red Axes frequent guest Abrão. The two Brasilians join forces to deliver an epic EP called “Louco & Sobrevivendo”.

“Luoco Chama” slowly starts with a simple beat until Abrao's vocals kick in to get you in the mood while a mental arp keeps the track driving foward. “Sobrevivendo o Desacordo” brings a strong modulating bass and again the epic Abrao vocals intervine for a dreamy interlude and a complete release of energy. The tracks are simple to leave space for the voice but powerfull enough to have a life on it's own.

Label bosses come to rework each of the tracks. Iñigo takes “Sobrevivendo o Desacordo” and transforms it into a percussion frenzy with robotic vocals. While Thomass takes “Luoco Chama” and makes it an instant classic with a "White Horse style" bassline and acid touches that add new psychedelia to the track.

Hermano Emmanuel Poulper (SXDNS146/FREEDL028) is going to start 2021 sharing brand-new music with us, peeps: His forthcoming “Premonition EP” will be released in the beginning of the next year on the interesting French label Coquelicot Records and will bring two high-quality originals and two spectacular remixes made with extreme and hardcore love by two skilled ambassadors of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Mexican Alvee (FREEDL019) and Lithuanian Aurum Miles. We were solicited to review the latter’s remix for the title track, and we dare to say it is the highlight of the EP.

The chemistry that exists between Emmanuel and Aurum is impressive. Even living far away from each other (in Buenos Aires and Vilnius, respectively), the lads managed to launch a label together: Quixotical Records; despite being still young, the project has already achieved worldwide recognition due to the excellence of the curation process. But let’s resume the talks about “Premonition”, shall we? Featuring Poulper himself on the vocals, Aurum’s gothic-clad version is simply beautiful! The dark and gloomy attire suited the original perfectly, and the result is a rich and ingenious post-punk interpretation.
