Exclusive Jac The Disco 'Cosmic Matter (Prins Thomas Remix)'

Londoner Jay Rossi, better known under his Jac The Disco moniker, delivers the first EP of his newly and co-founded label Spin On This'. 'Cosmic Matters', the title of the label's debut EP, comes with two original tracks, 'Cosmic Matters' and 'Bali Dance', as well as two remixes from two of the scene's most iconic producers, namely I:Cube and Prins Thomas. While French legend I:Cube took on remix duties for 'Bali Dance', Prins Thomas reworks the EP's title track. The Norwegian producer turns the orginal take into an eight minute lasting journey of blissful and mental sound-experiences paired with a lush bass line that's basically rolling out the red carpet for the varying synths and percussions to walk the path and transport the listener to a mental state of mind that hits closest to the imagination of reaching fulfillment in sound spheres and niches.

Jac The Disco's EP 'Cosmic Matter' was released on Spin On This on December 2nd, 2019.

Exclusive Panthera Krause 'Road To Arcadia (Kasper Bjørke Disco Rework)'

Originally released as part of Panthera Krause's album It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You at the end of last year, two new approaches of his take Road To Arcadia are about to be released as part of Robert's, Panthera Krause's real name, next single on Riotvan. While the artist contributes a club version of Road To Arcadia himself, Copenhagener Kasper Bjørke is responsible for the second track of the single release and turns it into a hauntingly disco rework which has as much energy as Donna Summer's I Feel Love In other words Bjørke's Disco Rework simply is a continuous groover, which develops the latter due to the implementation of additional sounds throughout the track or a change of the chords right up to incorporating a so called glitch in the last part of the track. 

Panthera Krause's single Road To Arcadia will be released on Riotvan on February 14th, 2020

Live At Robert Johnson deploys a very true to its school release by one of Brussels finest, @DC Salas. „The Complicated Art of Dreaming“ tells a four-track tale of joyous and airy nights on the dancefloor. A few euphoric sixteenths and a few quirky acid lines, lush pads and irresistible drums—it’s all about giving you that driving and energetic feeling, with more than one genuine hands in the air floorfiller at your disposal.

Things are what you expect of LARJ: Driving high quality tracks with an emotional twist, a nod to the luscious moments on the wooden dancefloor.

DC Salas is thirtysomething year old Diego Cortez Salas, a skilled talent with peruvian origins hailing from Brussels. His four-track EP „The Complicated Art of Dreaming“ delves into classic territories, an eclectic amalgamation of his musical inspirations in 15 years of digging and DJing. A regular DJ at C11 and Kiosk Radio both in Brussels, Diego also co-runs Biologic Records with his mate Abstraxion since 2014.

2020 is being a rough year for everyone but here in Calypso we believe that music is a way out for many people during this moments, so we decided to go ahead with our schedule of releases. For that we are very happy to welcome SHMLSS to our family cult, DJ duo from the Netherlands running "XXX the label". First up on "The Long Haul" EP is the title track that sets the mood with a smooth growing tension melted to perfection with the bass and the hypnotic synths. Moving on we have "Taiko Dreams" that immediately hits you hard with a strong bassline and mental arpeggios that grow into a trancey journey ideal for a sweaty night. With "Bunker" we are already now in the mental trip the duo wanted to take us, again with hypnotic arpeggios and dreamy pads that grow into an interstellar Sci-Fi chase. Finally, to close this mental trip, we invited another duo for remix duties, Club Tularosa. They've put out some bombs last year and this time they took "Taiko Dreams" and gave it a treatment for big clubs and festivals making it an epic journey that explodes into a dance frenzy.

Having previous released work on Bordello A Parigi, Red Laser Records and Nufragio, Luca dell’Orso debuts on SHMLSS' XXX imprint with a wide-ranging Italo excursion. From high-tension energy to more sophisticated slow burners, this EP showcases what Luca' studio capabilities. With Machinegewehr suppling the remix, he takes a darker approach for strobe-fueled basement moments and concludes the package on a high note.

The sound of the jungle is intense. Cicadas, exotic birds, treetop primates and a myriad of other species joining together in chorus, each animal call part of an uncontested soundscape that blankets the dense green foliage from each to every corner. A holistic nature exists that connects each creature, from the roots of the trees to the smallest insect, maintaining a balance that keeps the natural order, and defends the jungle from any kind of unnatural malevolent power. 

IDA sound label head and Moscow native Denis Kolomensky's next release comes in the form of Ritual Gone Wrong, an EP that draws inspiration from the idea of our primal human instincts being at odds with the way we live in modern society. Out later this month on Karakter, an Amsterdam-based label devoted to all things alternative electronic, the EP also features a reimagination from label boss Pedro Martins, who strips back the breakbeats slightly and introduces a subtle alien ambience and a heavy acid bass.

As the sun went down over the horizon, it took with it the all too safe and predictable atmosphere of daytime. Striking colours of red and orange shot across the sky, highlighting the small clouds that rested against it. While below the vast blue-ish green sea stopped reflecting the suns sparkles, and instead became a dim navy blue mass that hosted a subtle shimmer. Sunbathers that dominated the beach hours before, were replaced with groups of people celebrating the night, taking advantage of the exciting mystique that came with it.

On this track, Stevie R further develops his signature sound by combining dance-inclined funky electronics and Greek folk music, known as rebetiko, to create a fusion he calls ‘rebetronica’. The EP, titled Oropós, sees Stevie work with London-based musician Parisinos, with an alternate take on the title track supplied by Kiwi. This marks he first instalment of a mini-album released in two parts, the second of which, Ta Paidia Tis Getonias, is set to drop in the coming weeks courtesy of Chapter 24 Records.

El lanzamiento en vinilo limitado fue posible gracias al sello holandés 339 Records y saldrá como un maxi single que incluye solo No FTR Original y Franz Scala's Remix.

Sobre el EP:

No FTR es la abreviatura de No Future: Daniel Monaco quiere representar un viaje a un lugar oscuro, tal vez perdido en el espacio, tal vez condenado a un universo paralelo, las, baterías a veces se mezclan con sonidos metálicos y melodías que sugieren sentimientos de esperanza y desesperación, todo ello secuenciando los bajos de sintetizador que se entrelazan con líneas de bajo interpretadas en vivo, tratando de crear ritmos de rodadura embarrados pero nítidos. Se hizo una exageración intencional en el arreglo para recordar la plenitud en el sonido típico de algunas pistas italianas de la vieja escuela que le gustan a Daniel Monaco.

El EP es un concepto de Dark Italo que contiene 3 originales y 3 remixes de artistas como James Rod el imparable Boss label de Golden Soul Records, la artista coreana Shubostar propietario de Uju Records conocido por su Cosmic Touch y por último el jefe de Slow Motion Franz Scala pionero de la nueva ola italiana, un verdadero creador e Italo Master, aporta su toque mágico para hacer de este lanzamiento un esencial de 2020.
