Nervous Horizon is delighted to welcome New York-based producer and DJ Ma Sha to the roster with a high-voltage three-track EP titled "Elastik".

For her Nervous Horizon debut, the Kindergarten' honcho immerses herself in a solitary sonic journey drawing inspiration from the concept of self-isolation-induced time distortion and the interplay of the diverse rhythms intertwining in her environment. From the quick motion of people outside her Ridgewood apartment juxtaposed with the slow, fluid movements of her indoor plants, to the intense traffic on Myrtle Ave contrasting the flowing red light shadows on her studio walls, Ma Sha blends warped reality and sound exploration forming the perfect collage.

Shaping her distinct solo sound with a focus on finding a balance between her critical thinking and intuition, each track resonates with different emotional states. By aligning heavily time-stretched elements with chopping and granulation techniques, Ma Sha skillfully incorporates the altered time concept within the tracks' structure. If "KV December" mirrors unpredictable emotional fluctuations, in both "Myrtle Warp" and "Psyspi" vocal textures' shifts and layered synths co-exist with bold and sharp percussion. Accompanied by a fresh take by Ehua on one of the originals, the EP unravels around a warped perception of time while consistently maintaining the playful atmosphere that defines Ma Sha's personality and the music that truly inspires her.

She is known for releases on labels like ESP Institute, WARNING, or Tresor. She is part of bands like Init. She played them all, those clubs, that matter, and those that matter more. Live. Alone. As an artist. With a band. Here she comes with her first album. On the R.i.O. sphere. Her homebase. A trusted zone for experimentation. She brings “Duster”. Seven tunes twisted in different dreams. It were as if he couldn't find his grip as the world spun recklessly all around him. All he wished was that he might find something to cling on to which might cement him to the ground and bring him back to reality. Instead everything was blurry and his grip, non existent. Old butter hands was out for the night and there was no stopping the ride...

He wandered between the people and the places, the faces and the strangers, the dancers and the wanderers lost within the midst of the night. For they too had lost their grip. We all had really, the world was a big buttery pool within which we all swam beneath the cloak of darkness.

@tinatornade may be sowing the wind but for sure her music reaps the whirlwind. Hard Drum, Percussive Techno, Techno Detroit or even Bass Music, Tina Tornade gathers all melodious percussions. She adores confusing rhythms, those making your heart beat as much as your hips move.

~ I wanted to transcribe through this set a dream I’ve had, that keeps coming back in my mind. It’s like a keystone on the door to my unconscious because when I re-visualize it, it unfolds and reveals other images still in the shadows of my mind. It’s as if I could continue the dream and reveal other corners of my unconscious by letting it unfold. I’m in the ocean, struggling to reach the surface. When I get there, the air fills my lungs as if I’m breathing for the first time, and I inhale. I’m in the middle of the water, and the sun is at its zenith. The light is scorching, but I don’t feel pain; it’s as if it’s purifying me. I pour water over my face, as if baptizing myself. I realize I can stand on the sand, which is under my feet. And then I wake up. ~
