As if by magic freedom had arrived. Months and months spent isolated from the world had come to an end, measures had been lifted and socialising en masse reinstated. The wheels had been set in motion for an internal shift in routine and behaviour; there was much to take in, a lot to reassess but, most importantly, a ton of lost time to make up for.

Eltron's Dom Trojga imprint have been banking something very special for their next record: a three-tracker from Casiopepe, the brainchild of two producers and good friends operating between Warsaw and Berlin. Originally set for release last summer, pandemic delays and the world coming to a standstill prompted Dom Trojga to hold this one back until freedom was upon us. And for good reason; the release — which funnels elements of acid, trance and continental disco through a Euro dance lens — is packed full of emotion, brimming with euphoria, nostalgia, joy and hope for the future.

Gesaffelstein's 'Variations' EP set an all-time record for feedback at Turbo. For a new artist to attract that kind of attention from such a broad cross-section of DJs is extremely special and a clear sign that he's tapped in to something very, very big. To the younger generation of clubbers and DJs for whom the funtastic era of 2001-2003 revivalism was a missed experience, Gesaffelstein represents a double-breasted jacket of nostalgia for everything from the power of Industrial and 80s New Wave to the Gigolo-glam of early Kittin & the Hacker, Steril, Vitalic, Fixmer, and yes, Tiga.
 
We have no hesitation in declaring that he has single-handedly updated an entire genre, sharpened the edges, and notably traded in the camp and pastiche that made Electroclash a dirty word for a refined and stylish simplicity. The breakdowns are massive and very French, but never out of order. These are futuristic party bombs which skillfully draw from our favourite dance music of the last 30 years... and add more cowbell!

Dollkraut's grainy, fuzzy sound turned heads last year with the release of his first LP, 'Schimanski's Black Lullabiesi. Last year also saw him inaugurate the Dutch label Charlois with his 'Blackbox' EP, which he's following up with the release of 'Hornet Green' on 1st October. POW! To celebrate the upcoming release, we're bringing you the first TWO tracks from the EP right here and we thought it would only be fair to have a chat with Dollkraut as well to give us an insight into his world...

Nothing gets you clean like a @the-juan-maclean clean and it looks as though your ears could do with a good old fashioned cleansing - have you even washed them since that time you went to that party and that girl (at least you think she was a girl) put her finger covered in mustard in there? Those things look filthy and they could really do with all that dirt being flushed out.

We were quite fan of mid 2000's Padded Cell releases on D.C Recordings at LYO and followed Richard Sen solo efforts since then. Richard Sen's last outing on [Emotional] Especial - the bleep revival brilliance of "Songs of Pressure" - was something of a stone cold killer, so hopes are naturally high for this belated follow-up. "Resistance Through Rituals" here premiered digs deep for inspiration, doffing a cap to the starry futurism of Detroit, psychedelic acid and the drum-machine driven jack of early Chicago house. Vinyls, and its splendid artwork, will land early march in all fine purveyors retailers of good music
