Christine Renée, a sonic storyteller and American expat, curates themed sets and occasionally interviews a variety of sound artists on her show FOR THE BIRDS. She's collected records since the '90s and DJed since the '00s. Renowned for her residency at Lot Radio (2016) and role at hi-fi club Public Records as head curator (2019), she's now studying sound as a healing modality.

High above the desert, where the sky spilled its secrets in stars, the brightest among them was Altair. To the villagers below, it was more than a star—it was a guardian.

Generations passed, but Altair never dimmed. Pilgrims crossed miles of sand to sit under its light and make wishes. Some claimed they saw a flicker.

On a clear night, if you stare long enough, you might see wings in the darkness. Illuminated against the dense black.

For in the sky, where time folds and dreams take flight, Altair burnt brighter than all else.

 Two Thou is the lead behind the Oraculu project – a hybrid jazz exploration with ambient undertones described as follows:

“This music was born in Berlin, matured with me through a winter in the rural Sardinia, and ended up on wax through Chicago and New York. With this record, that to me sounds in-between worlds, I want to recall that jazz and electronic music both emerged as inventions, and it seems to me they’re both suggesting us to keep inventing.”

Across six tracks, a dream unfurls into sound – patterns emerging like scattered water droplets, a flowing dance of chance and texture.
For Turmalin Dub, Tom of Terram (an alias of Tom Sprenger, one half of Hektisch Sprengen) teams up with Listensport. This EP flourishes in the fertile space between the organic and the synthetic, where textures breathe and rhythms pulse like living beings. It is shaped by five original creations and a ’90s-inspired French Dreamspell house remix by RAMZi, carrying the timeless spirit of the dancefloor.

Turmalin Dub stands as a musical crystal, refracting light into deep colour and pulse; a fortress for the spirited and unconventional, an elegant tapestry of sound. The opening track weaves psychedelic hues with Balearic warmth, dubwise basslines, and whispers of slippery roots-reggae dub. Trance-inflected echoes flow together like water: from immersive ambient waves to intricate patterns and softly blurred dub techno. The release closes with Spirit, a track echoing the warmth and sway of trancehall, bridging introspective moments and the kinetic energy of a floor in motion.

The way the leaves moved in sync with the wind, the patterns in the clouds, the gentle hum of the world—it was all connected.

Neurodiversity, wasn’t about fitting in—it was about seeing the world in ways others might never imagine.

He watched as it all whizzed and whirred around him, lines and shapes made sense in a way words sometimes didn’t.

Where others saw chaos, he saw rhythm.

It was simply time to enjoy the dance.

It’s a Good Start of Nothing takes its name from a dyslexic twist on “a good start of something” a slip that unexpectedly revealed something more fitting. Centered around swirling sonic elements and grounded by a low bass, it explores how complexity can emerge from apparent randomness. Like the title itself, it embraces the unknown, suggesting that beginnings don’t always need definitions and the act of making doesn’t need a clear end. Sometimes, not knowing is part of the shape. It is necessary to the process. And maybe, in the end, this is nothing. And that’s ok.

Yoann Pisterman is a French sound artist and composer based in Berlin. Originally trained in visual arts, his practice began with drawn landscapes blending architecture and vegetation. Sound emerged in response and gradually became the core of his work. He describes it as “painting with sound.” 

His compositions move between ambient, kraut, electroacoustic, and experimental forms; balancing softness with density, surface with depth. A kind of childlike topography for deep listeners: light yet intricate, subtly shifting perception and sculpting space. the end, this is nothing. And that’s okay.

The date was the 30th of February 3030 and the sun was setting on Geneva. The air was thick, filled with ash from an impact that has radically modified the scenery. At the surface of the Rhône, jellyfish were adjusting their perceptronic implants in order to map out this sudden modification of their environment that had become the largest crater in the history of the Jonction area. The trail of debris ran from the junction of the Rhône and Arve rivers right up to the legendary derelict factory called formerly called l’Usine, which used to be a centre for alternative arts, culture and live music.

Terrified by the deafening crash of the astral body into the millennia-old building, humanoids and robots alike flocked to the smoking hole that seemed to lead straight to purgatory. Among the curious crowd, Burd Bibendaze, Salt Lake City’s infamous astral body impactology in fresh water environments specialist. Burd had been in town for a thousand years by now, still studying the hybrids created by the impact of the last asteroid to hit Geneva’s lake region in the early 21st century.

As Burd was still trying to fathom his luck at witnessing a second impact in such a short space of time, he saw something move in the gaping hole beneath him. A relatively small, half slug-like, half humanoid being was floating it’s way up out of the hole. The creature had a mask in the shape the like of which Burd had only seen in history books, as if there really was a life-form that fit the 21st century human’s idea of what an extra-terrestrial.

As the automated security forces rushed to the unkown creature, it waved them aside with a deft movement, stopping them mid-air with a power beyond Burd or any of the onlooker’s comprehension. The creature stopped and looked straight through Burd’s eyes and into his soul. “Hello Burd”, came a voice in his head, “My name’s Brian”. And with a little wave, it vanished in thin air before the second batch of automated security forces flew into sight.
