XX, Pingipung. A Record Label Turns 20.
This is the opening track for our anniversary release "XX, Pingipung".

2002-2022, that’s 20 years of Pingipung! The German record label celebrates its anniversary with exclusive tracks by a fine selection of artists from the label roster as well as new names. Instead of looking back at the classics, Pingipung chose to compile a kaleidoscopic preview of possible future directions for the label. 
The line-up features playfully melancholic songs by Museum Of No Art, Peter Power or The Notwist, an excursion to the desert by RVDS or a psychedelic take on Dub in Tolouse Low Trax’ remix for the Ainu singer Umeko Ando. Artists such as Anadol, Y Bülbül, MD Pallavi & Andi Otto, M.RUX, Sven Kacirek, Schlammpeitziger, Peter Presto and F.S.Blumm are already well known to the Pingipung audience. They contribute exclusive new tracks, adding to their existing output on the label.  
It’s impossible to file this compilation under a genre, which is exactly the case with Pingipung in general - bull’s eye. The collection of tracks is pressed in the perfect format to match the Pingipung jubilee: A 2x10’’ vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.

The journey continues for our beloved French inhouse artist, Kubebe. He returns once again to the Fauna Reve pit with "Power Plant", an EP loaded with a bunch of funk, discordant sounds and a bit of reggae vibe.
The swirl of ideas that can lodge in Kubebe's consciousness is immense, from experimental creations created with noise generators, to internal tribal chases or relaxed atmospheres.

Kubebe’s most recent collaboration is with Italian, A-Tweed, in "The Garden" EP. In the past, the Lille-born producer collaborated with Bufi on the "Bufebe" EP. Some of his productions live on labels such as Duro Label, Calypso Records, Feines Tier, Hard Fist Records.
This new sonic odyssey from Kubebe will be available and ready to add to your collection starting September 2.

Cornelius Doctor's (@corneliusdoctor) remix of 'Whispering' strips back the guitars and staccato synth lines, opting instead for softer oriental style pads and drones, textures and percussion for a slowed yet bouncy and vibrant remix. His style sits at the convergence of cosmic, discoid and wavy sounds, with percussion, dark synths, psyche voices, breaks and bells as some of his best weapons. Since starting his Hard Fist label in 2016, Cornelius Doctor has been an advocate for an uninhibited and expressive approach to dance music, opening club music to world sounds and bringing back the essence of dancing together ritually.

PREMIERE: Local Suicide, Curses - Whispering (Cornelius Doctor Remix) [Iptamenos Discos]

The lights were low in the small bar, sat alone drinkers watched onwards as the music echoed from the large speaker set. They said little to one another but listened to the sweet, soft sound which filled the space and set the tone for the mysterious, murky affair. The evening was young and they would be here until the small hours, captivated by the strange radiance of the noise.

It were as if they were in a trance like state, lost in the middle of madness yet utterly happy and perplexed in the sheer willingness of it all. Some might call it meditation, others might think it to be magic.

As the fog began to fill the room, one by one they began to nod off and drift away in the the melody…


 
Pingipung is celebrating twenty years of wonderful records. The label, based in Hamburg, has been a stalwart for showcasing cutting edge artists and experimental sounds for two decades and are rejoicing in this with the release of a bundle of new music from some familiar faces and fresh newcomers.

This track by Umeko Ando is remixed by none other than German kraut pioneer Tolouse Low Trax.

PREMIERE: Umeko Ando – Hutare Chui (Tolouse Low Trax Remix)[Pingipung]

Born In Mexico returns with the fourth instalment of the 'Tándem' series. Original versions by SÜSS from Guadalajara and from Ciudad Juárez, Lorely Mur. Remix offerings by Jenouise from Zombies In Miami and resident of the Bar Americas, Kassie. 

The EP opens with “Ultraviolet” by SÜSS, a powerful track with a distorted kick, atmospheric deep, electric and desolate. It is followed by Kassie's version of "Ultraviolet", an energetic cut with a dreamy vibe, accompanied by stroboscopic synthesizers.

Paradox Psychosis” offers  solid, rumbling and deep drums, alongside
a mystery synth. 

To close the EP is the remix made by Jenouise, a
resonant track full of breaks,  firm drums and an electrifying rolling bass mixed withacid synthesizers.

RVDS - Wüstensphären (XX Pingipung Premiere)

Up next on Glasgow's Sounds of Lava Lava is local producer Kieran Apter. He's the man at the helm of CB90 Dance Recordings, a label that's been home to the likes of Brain Dancing, Man Power and his own productions which touch on house, techno and acid. Now he brings a slice of the latter to SOLL with 'Begin Again', a hypnotic acid-driven cut carried along by raw, shuffling drum programming and a distorted vocal meditation, which is backed by a remix from another Scottish rising star, Liam Doc.
