Everything was pitch black, she couldn't see the wood for the trees. Darkness engulfed the space, all other senses became heightened; a bitter taste swirled around her mouth and the air around her become thick and heavy. If she squinted hard enough maybe she could make out the shapes in the room but for now touch was her best friend; arms outstretched, she felt her way around the space, hoping a door handle or light switch would reveal itself. It could take her an eternity to find the exit but hopefully her senses wouldn't fail her. 

For their fifth release, Berlin label Other Goodness call on the talents of Andrew Meecham and Sean Johnston, better known as Emperor Machine and Hardway Bros, respectively. For the first time the pair collaborate under the guise of Unknown Genre, a fitting name for the melting pot of electronic influences on this debut EP, Elevator Ride. Made up of two originals, and backed up by a remix from Heavenly Recordings’ signees The Orielles, the release moves from the revving acid and driving rhythms of the title track through to the shamanistic grooves and hypnotic percussion of our pick 'Cthulhu Macula'.

After releasing the banger “Keep It Strong” one year ago, Patricio Diaz is back with his very first release.

The eponym track “Nights Lights” is a pure track mixing Trance and Italo influences.
An ode to gathering and smiling on the dancefloor.

“Walking At Dawn”, always with a trance touch, a little faster, is the perfect track to let you go. By the way, the track groove seems straight out of a 80s road movie.
 
ROTCIV signs here a mental, dark, almost disturbing remix.
But faithful to its origins, he brings an undeniable disco side too.
A transcendental music for the robots !

To close the strong release, Theo Scuera brings to “Night Lights” a more progressive 90s touch. Music to be experienced only by tapping your feet loudly and jumping on the dancefloor.

We premiered first NAAR some weeks ago with the track Le Clerc by Man Power. "Not An Animal" returns with their 2nd installment, this time from Ess O Ess (aka Chris Stoker co head-honcho of the label and his pal Jamie Blanco) Package is made of three tracks, the original mix backed with two remixes. One being by japanese Chida, owner of "Ene Records" and the other featured here, by prolific Los Angeles producer Suzanne Kraft (remember the devastating "Renee Running" under his moniker "Dude Energy") with a juxtaposed tropical techno - with added dub - approach to his interpretation.
