This morgen.ep is musically our most ingenious release produced by our family’s newest addition Olaf Stuut. His originals are all strong main characters in this 3-track story with a riveting retouch by Ryan Davis and a deep adaptation by Some Chemistry.

Honoured to have an inspirational artist like Ryan Davis on the remix, he added great value to the ep. He introduces a strong drive and some mysterious elements in the beginning of his remix. When it looks like the dark is taking over halfway, Ryan reveals his dreamy trademark and brings back the harmony of Olaf’s original idea.

That's quite a bold statment but also one that's very apt of Vessels new output. 
"We all listen to radically different music a lot of the time, but techno is still where we all converge. We wanted to create live shows where people go to party rather than admire time signatures,” Martin Teff of Vessels notes.

"I love Christian's work so I was totally into the idea of swapping remixes for our albums. The only problem was that when I listened to his album I found a lot of ideas that grabbed me. So I asked for stems for 3 different tracks, and started with some experiments to see which might lend itself best to a remix, which turned into two finished pieces in the end. 
The first was a remix of Vind, which I started by layering Prophet chords over Christian's riff and chopping up the vocals into fast repeating units. It was one of those tracks that just seemed right to me without any percussion or detailing, I wanted to focus in on the harmonies and leave it at that, just creating progression with an ever increasing opening and layering of the elements."

Three records taken from Jian Kellet Liew a.k.a Kyson’s internationally acclaimed 2016 album ‘A Book Of Flying’; ‘A Song About The Future’, ‘Flightless’, and ‘You’ receive three fresh reworks, marking the Anjunadeep debut of the Australian born, Berlin based vocalist and producer. First up ‘A Song About The Future’, the original, a stunning contemplative vocal number from the LP, gets a textured underground rework from fellow Berliner and Kompakt affiliate, Dave DK, who returns to Anjunadeep following his memorable 2014 remix of Vincenzo. Next, Anjuna mainstay Jody Wisternoff and label boss James Grant put their distinctive deep house touch on ‘Flightless’; a familiar moment from the pair’s recent iTunes Dance #1 album ‘Anjunadeep 08’. Another Berliner, Ryan Davis rounds off the package following on from his impressive ‘From Within’ EP on Anjunadeep last year. Davis warps the delicate original into a dark and brooding electronic cut.

Kyson - A Song About The Future (Dave DK Remix)

BRAIDS are one of my favourite bands, so when I had the chance to work with them I jumped on it. The vocals were the starting point, which I layered and used to generate a general feeling also in fitting with the lyrics, which then defined how I built the rest of the tracks around them. The first one from the EP is "Pleasures", for which I wanted to make something positive and warming, with nice straightforward drums and nothing too harsh in terms of builds and drops, just a delicate flow to give a pleasurable listening experience, hopefully!

"At first there was a remix:
For the first part of our Split Series „Hamburg“ the Hamburg based Band Me Succeeds made a remake of Arp Auberts „Actress“. In Return Arp Aubert, consisting of Mirau Label founder Stephan Lorenz, made a beautiful, dreamy remix for Me Succeeds „Riemerling“. Now the remixing goes on in full album length: After their latest long player „Rongorongo“ from 2011, which Me Succeeds released on their own imprint isawmusic, the band will return on Ki Records with a remix album. Eleven friends were invited to put their hands on the album’s tracks and give their interpretation. Besides a whole lot of danceable tracks you will also find some broken beats and spherical electronica here, which makes this release fit in perfectly in the Ki catalogue. Under the motto „never change a running system“ of course Arp Aubert once again had his hands on one of the tracks, turning „Rongorongo“ into a driving techno track which is underlined by the emotional vocals of lead-singer Mohna and beautiful melodies making this remix perfect for the early hours on the dancefloor. The Berlin based producer and DJ Iron Curtis gives the original of “Seventeen” a dubby note that is definitely special as he uses many vintage synthesizers-sounds and broken pieces of the original vocals to make this remix one of the strongest on this album. The last remix on the album was done by Greek musician Chronik, who turns „Books“ into a hymn with twisted rhythm and broken beats. It’s the perfect ending reminding us a lot of the recently on Ki released „Saints“ by Monokle. Apart from that, a few more great producers such as Tilmann Tausendfreund, Showing Off The Bling Bling, Christian Löffler, On Stop Off, My First Trumpet, Bug Lover and Suburb contributed to this Rongosium."
