Duncan Whiteley is the production moniker of Alex Oxley, a music producer and DJ originally from the north of England, who recently made the move from London to Los Angeles.

Under the guise of Duncan Whiteley, Alex explores the more rugged landscapes of electronic music, a symbiosis of noise, techno and electronica. Alex is also on the cusp of launching a record label and artist management company called “Reinhardt Tapes” where he will be releasing Duncan Whiteley collaborations and solo work.

We caught up with Alex ahead of his performance at the Werkdiscs night in LA with Actress and Evian Christ on Saturday 28th September to discuss the LA electronic music scene and his visions for “Reinhardt Tapes“. His mix features music from Clouds, Special Request, Untold, Two Lone Swordsmen, Call Super and Clark.

Mechanical Music Menace levels the floor. Beaming into the stratosphere, live bass pulsates through the system as man and machine fuse, xylophone keys take front and centre taking us beyond the stars.

Unshaken in his vision, Keith Tenniswood is an artist who's emotive electronic music, and ethos has seen him lorded as an innovator and machine funk specialist. As long term collaborator to Andrew Weatherall in their now defunct Two Lone Swordsmen guise, and with his continual sonic experiments as Radioactive Man he mans a landscape of music without rules or boundaries.

Keith Tenniswood' debut EP on Reinhardt will be released on 180g vinyl on December 8th, with a full digital release to follow in early 2015.

"At first there was a remix:
For the first part of our Split Series „Hamburg“ the Hamburg based Band Me Succeeds made a remake of Arp Auberts „Actress“. In Return Arp Aubert, consisting of Mirau Label founder Stephan Lorenz, made a beautiful, dreamy remix for Me Succeeds „Riemerling“. Now the remixing goes on in full album length: After their latest long player „Rongorongo“ from 2011, which Me Succeeds released on their own imprint isawmusic, the band will return on Ki Records with a remix album. Eleven friends were invited to put their hands on the album’s tracks and give their interpretation. Besides a whole lot of danceable tracks you will also find some broken beats and spherical electronica here, which makes this release fit in perfectly in the Ki catalogue. Under the motto „never change a running system“ of course Arp Aubert once again had his hands on one of the tracks, turning „Rongorongo“ into a driving techno track which is underlined by the emotional vocals of lead-singer Mohna and beautiful melodies making this remix perfect for the early hours on the dancefloor. The Berlin based producer and DJ Iron Curtis gives the original of “Seventeen” a dubby note that is definitely special as he uses many vintage synthesizers-sounds and broken pieces of the original vocals to make this remix one of the strongest on this album. The last remix on the album was done by Greek musician Chronik, who turns „Books“ into a hymn with twisted rhythm and broken beats. It’s the perfect ending reminding us a lot of the recently on Ki released „Saints“ by Monokle. Apart from that, a few more great producers such as Tilmann Tausendfreund, Showing Off The Bling Bling, Christian Löffler, On Stop Off, My First Trumpet, Bug Lover and Suburb contributed to this Rongosium."
