Cocktail D'Amore know a thing or two about party starting wild cards, and thus far Lion's Drums has proven to be adept in that department with drops on Hivern Discs and his own self-titled label. He comes to the Cocktail party with two edits of Manos Tsangaris' powerful drum sermons - visceral percussive flurries from a man with enough rhythm to partake in the lauded Drums Off Chaos project. You should have a good idea from that what these two tracks are about - heavy, physical tracks for maximum dance induction, moments of pure abandon and the odd firework or two.

Dial records is excited to announce Dial76 - four remixes for Lawrence‘s recent album "Illusion" with contributions by Shinedoe, Tracey, Trux and Carsten Jost. Amsterdam based Shinedoe, who’s productions have been widely admired and played by Dial DJs from Lawrence to Efdemin since her earliest releases, provides a warmly enchanting Techno version of "Crystal". Also from Amsterdam and newest addition to the Dial Records stable is Tracey who’s debut record "Biostar" was released on Dial earlier this year. His uptempo electro construct integrates the sounds of the original effortlessly into his own narrative. Mysterious producer Trux impressed with his concept album "Orbiter" on Avenue 66 last year and delivers an exciting ambient track with reminiscences of a shadowy beat. Lastly the traditional contribution of a remix by Dial Records co-founder Carsten Jost rounds up the lineup with a warm Rhodes driven House version of "Transitions".

Dark Swirl - Tracey Remix

A comforting sound distinguishes this record, it is gentle and deep at the same time. If A1 - Sky City feels like diving in calm water, A2 - Jet Fuel could soundtrack a romantic date. On the flip B1 - October has a cinematic personality, envisioning a urban landscape, while B2 - Stereo Sense expresses a special dynamicity of sound. Don't get tricked by my rather emotional introduction though, Neal knows about beats and you'll hear. From breakbeat to funk, Chicago house to dub this EP is all-round a delightful expression of contemporary club music.

House heads rejoice as the don himself, Iron Curtis is back at it with a stomping two-part release on Hudd Traxx Records. ‘Total Art Of Living’ includes 10 tracks of his signature swing, groove and snappy sounds to grace the record bags and USBs, the world round. 
Our pick of the first release is ‘Candi 101’, a dubbed down little number that has a great broken beat vibe and provides a nice contrast to the peak time vibes of ‘Everything’s Alright’. To build on this, an excerpt from Hudd Traxx themselves, ‘Total Art Of Living contains straight-up house jams, hints of techno, nods to broken beat, references to Detroit and a few interludes for good measure. 
These new cuts are further proof that Iron Curtis music has always celebrated the deepest foundations of the house and all its varieties, whilst resolutely refusing to get nostalgic.’
‘Total Art Of Living’ should be out on the 9th of September from Hudd Traxx and we shall be looking forward to it.

PREMIERE: Iron Curtis - Candi 101 [Hudd Traxx]

The stars flickered and flashed up above against a dense backdrop of black, they were far away from the glow of the street lights and as such were able to see clearly the glowing embers of life far away. The desert night was still but for the soft blowing breeze and the occasional cry of a bird in the distance far away. It was haunting, ethereal and yet uniquely comforting to know that there was not a soul who could touch them out here beneath the fog of a galaxy of glimmering stars. 

XDB is set to release his debut album via Dial Records as they celebrate twenty years in business. The label has come a long way and has made many friends over the years of whom Kosta Athanassiadis is one.

Klasse Wrecks’ sub-label GRAFITI TAPES is back for its 12th instalment and features music and artwork from one of the most important and formative writers in early UK graffiti history, in fact Coma (or Richard Sen as he’s also known) has the accolade of being one of the first ever writers to paint the London Underground system in the mid 1980s. His iconic ‘Bottleneck’ style train panel (which features on the sleeve artwork of this release) caused quite a storm in the national press and served as a landmark for the countless writers that came after him. Richard put down the spraycans in 1988 and has since had a flourishing and long career in music as a DJ and talented producer, his productions sonically capturing the 'boilingpot catch-all' style of Hip Hop culture. Richard’s release for GRAFITI TAPES comes on two formats (vinyl and tape cassette) and serves up a total of 6 tracks. Included within is a melange of post-punk basslines, clattering breakbeats, trancey pads and a unique atmosphere that many writers will recognise from a legacy of graffiti video soundtracks, dusty 45s and boombox funk.
