This album took a lot out of me. So much overthinking, doubt and eventually happiness was experienced making this. Some of these songs are years old and some I wrote and finished very quickly (trying to not overthink as much!) I don’t need to go into detail as to what each and every song means, I just hope they can mean something to another person.

Montréal’s Courage Holdings new Collection Disques Durs imprint launches with yehno’s ‘Tomorrow We’ll Be Here’ this March.

Marking the first release on the freshly minted Collection Disques Durs, Nova Scotia’s yehno delivers the six-track ‘Tomorrow We’ll Be Here’ EP, displaying his talent for crafting cinematic electronic music for the new venture from Courage Holdings.

Title cut ‘Tomorrow We’ll Be Here’ utilises chopped vocals and bright, airy synths for a vibrant start to the release. ‘We Can’ follows, bringing slinky, swung percussion amongst shimmering atmospherics, leading into the languid ‘Walk Alone’, which unravels beautifully through a series of evolving sections.

‘Fog Rolling’ brings a steady 4/4 kick amongst field recordings and introspective ambience, unwinding through eight minutes of bliss before moving into ‘Lullaby (For My Dramatic Self)’, which carries the ambient feeling forward, grounded by crunching, overblown percussion. Lead single ‘Our Best Selves’ rounds out the release elegantly, embracing fluttering drum patterns and dynamic, pulsating synthesis.

Founded in 2018 in Montréal, Courage Holdings is an artist management and production company who curate events such as Piknic Electronik and Igloofest. Courage now reinvents itself, focusing its efforts towards artistic content production with their new record label Collection Disques Durs, with forthcoming music from møziz, Victor Bongiovanni, TDJ, and more on the way for 2021.

Soft tones echoed in the glow of the moonlight, a gentle song designed to ease the senses. This was a lullaby for the euphoric, the happy and the peaceful. As they closed their eyes and began to dance between the trees the song played out loudly upon the breeze, it echoed and sent a shiver up the spine, igniting the senses. This place was magical, ethereal and beautiful. It was isolated, an outback in the middle of nowhere in which they could not be disturbed but for the stars. 

yehno is set to release a brilliant new EP on Collection Disques Durs. The Nova Scotia based musician has a unique talent for creating big sounds sound beautiful. This is perhaps no more clear on what is a stand out track on this record - a song called "Lullaby".

'T/ERROR | DATA SURFER' is the latest EP from New Interplanetary Melodies (NIM), a collaboration between Simona Faraone’s NIM label and the collective Kuro Jam, led by Gianluca Pernafelli. The EP features Rome producer T/ERROR creating a musical version of a new comic strip titled “DATA SURFER.” The narrative explores the consequences of a special mixer falling into the hands of an angry suburban hoodlum immersed in electronic music. The EP unfolds in a vivid picture of “pain, passion, and redemption across Rome and Berlin” with T/ERROR’s sound-narrative journey reflecting electro-acid tones, dark mechanical sounds, and liquid electro.

nikos dervisis is set to self release a new EP which has already gathered support from the likes of  Martha, Ben UFO, 8ULENTINA and Dj Plead. This one features futuristic breaks and abstract glitches which make for a strange and wonderful, hypnotic affair.

Timothy Clerkin returns to Insult To Injury after over a year away with explosive new Acid-Techno single Sigma. An overt analogue assault on the senses the track was performed live in Clerkin's vintage synthesiser recording facility. The result is a face melting melange of retro sounds & futurism underpinned by the nihilistic vocal sample that belies his Punk musical history. Hold onto your hats, this one packs a punch!

Bed of Roses returns with a new release from dear friend Not Branimir.

Not Branimir is the new project from Byrd Out label boss Stephen Vitkovitch. The ‘Asquith Window’ EP is the culmination of work over a series of snatched moments between childcare, a part-time job, and running the label - ‘windows’ if you like. Underpinned by Roland's legendary 808 Drum Machine, the overlaying 303, Kaossilator, and more, the tracks celebrate the possibility of creation using freely available tools. Stephen called in a favour with Byrd Out artist, Greek electronic wizard Anatolian Weapons, to remix the title track, and his ‘Acid Take’, replete with added chanting, is a proper chug daddy!
