We are rather delighted to welcome one of our favourite DJ duos to the ITI mix series! Milanese gentlemen, and now full-time Berliners, Younger Than Me have been on our radar tearing up dance-floors and releasing fantastic productions for a couple of years, with their remix of I'll Never Reach Your Level by Shun being a standout highlight in the ITI back catalogue! 

The boys treat us to an hour of electronic rumblings from the (much missed) dance-floor, touching on classic breakbeat, acid, techno, rave, house etc.. all the while with that inimitable YTM flair.

Record label, shop and DJ Sound System based in Toronto (Canada), Invisible City puts out long overlooked or lost gems, much needed reissues and rare disco delights that immediately get snapped up by record collectors around the world.

For this month's episode, founder Gary Abugan is joined by De Jumbo.

With far too many chin strokers and music elitists around, we need people like Kristy Harper who choose to bring a sense of fun and sparkle to their musical pursuits instead. 

An advocate for female empowerment and body positivity, she translates these messages into both her productions and DJ sets. So far her releases have come via Let’s Play House and Monologues Records, followed by her acclaimed ‘My Body, My Future’ track, which samples Samirah Raheem’s viral interview at the LA ‘Slut Walk’. 

As a DJ, both behind the decks or on the Netil Radio airwaves where she holds a residency, she’s guided by a pure and unadulterated love of disco, Italo and classic house; sonics that filter into much of her musical output.

That goes for today’s mix too, which revs through a cocktail of synth-driven rhythms and bright acid-laced cuts, and follows Kristy’s fuego remix for our latest R$N Records release from Bawrut and Chico Blanco, which you should listen to stat!

Kristy Harper: The 'Wednesday Alternative' Mix

UK inspired electronic music has changed significantly over the past twenty years, mutating between elements of bass, house music, techno and back again. The sounds are often intertwined and linked by creative dj's and producers who aren't keen to be pigeonholed or bound by the limitations of genre or style. 

Tom VR is a perfect example of one such artist, an emerging producer who has risen to prominence with an array of eclectic, thoughtful releases on the likes of All My Thoughts, Lionoil Industries and his own imprint Valby Rotary which he runs alongside Louf. His most accomplished work perhaps has come on a new EP for Midland's record label, Intergraded. A pensive, bass inspired affair which also features beautiful ambient textures and delicate, precise sound design built to immerse dancers in the clubs. 

Tom's own musical tastes are rooted in the more pensive undertones of electronic music, there is a tonal undercurrent which runs throughout his work and sound. That's not to call it 'deep' but it is.

Kiara Scuro was joined by Acid Flash and Sävy Records boss IDA for 2 hours of club-ready cuts. Lots of new and unreleased selections inside from leftfield techno and squelchy acid house to big room breaks and trance.

QOQEQA, pronounced “kwo kwe kwa”, is the project of Lima-based artist Daniel Valle-Riestra.

Part of the exciting new wave of electronic producers coming out of South America, QOQEQA's productions pay homage to the traditional sounds of his home, marrying enchanting Andean and Afro-Peruvian rhythms with contemporary electronic textures and vibrant melodies.

These influences, funnelled through a haze of sub frequencies and intricate drum patterns, are firmly on display across his debut album 'AxuxA', which officially launched Dengue Dengue Dengue's Kebrada imprint only a few weeks ago.

Following the release we hand over control to Daniel to introduce you to the psychedelic soundworld of QOQEQA...
