Statuesque Vancouverite Sally Dige is emblematic of a restless spirit flitting in and out of view, an apparition just out of reach. 

On "Forget Me"the idea of self is brought into focus then blurred  as Dige intones a gothically-enhanced hymn to self-erasing. Over an emotionally wrought 4 mins, post-punk bass lines and moody synth-leads edge the author into willed obscurity from view. On the edges of the song are hints at a fractured, fragile character: "I'd rather go alone / and not be missed by anyone." Is it auto-biographical? Or a character impeccably acted? On the other side "Losing You" proves that Sally Dige never gives too much away. Here she wears the mask of a jaded lover watching the physical and moral collapse of someone once loved, confronted with something unrecognisable. Melding an Italo Disco skeleton with dark analogue synths, in many ways the music is similarly an eroded form once recognised, now perverted into a propulsive, strange new language.

Bryan Ferry’s most recent musical odyssey came in the form of 2014’s critically acclaimed
Avonmore album, now the LP gets some very special remix treatment by a connoisseur selection
of disco artists from around the globe. The celebrated and taste-making likes of Leo Zero, Ray Mang, Prins
Thomas, Justin Robertson, Leftside Wobble, Idjut Boys, Man Power and many more all lend their
well trained ears and serve up some sizzling new versions of the superb originals.

Bryan Ferry is one of the UK’s foremost singer songwriters, a pop artist and musician whose
appeal has spanned five decades. With his elegant virtuoso performances as the
front man Roxy Music, and his subsequent illustrious solo career Ferry has achieved numerous
accolades and has been a great source of influence and inspiration for
ensuing generations of musicians. As such, a project like this allows some of these established and rising talents the
unique opportunity to add their own spin to Ferry’s singular style.

A broad palette of sounds, scenes and genres are traversed along the course of this absorbing
collection. It kicks off in style with two different versions of ‘Loop Di Li’. Leo Zero’s take is sun-kissed and breezy, 
with trilling riffs and sweeping synths. UK disco don Ray Mang then offers a
more pumping, groove driven effort that wraps Ferry’s unique vocals up in neo-Balearic cool.
Next up, the marvellous ‘Midnight Train’ is offered as a late night and romantic affair by Johnson
Somerset, a cosmic chugger by Man Power and a characteristically left of centre house version
by the inimitable Idjut Boys, famed for being remix kings.

Fans of dubbed out and slo-motion disco will love the brilliant Beard of Concern mix of ‘Soldier of
Fortune,’ before five fascinating versions of ‘Driving Me Wild’ take in lush 80s nostalgia,
swaggering dub, mechanical psychedelic disco, horizontal grooves and elastic kosmiche from
Johnson Somerset, Leftside Wobble, Justin Roberton’s Deadstock 33s, Leo Zero and Ray Mang
respectively.

The latter half of the album finds nu-disco pioneer Prins Thomas masterfully flip the title track into
a broody affair with corrugated bass and tense, scintillating synth lines, whilst PBR Streetgang
work ‘One Night Stand’ into a deep and synthetic disco bomb that will have dance-floors in
raptures. Elsewhere, Idjut Boys, Ray Mang, Leo Zero, Johnson Somerset offer more expert reworks.
Ambient Pioneer Ulrich Schnauss has the coveted task of adapting ‘Johnny & Mary’, Ferry’s timeless collaboration with Norwegian man of the moment Todd Terje.
Hidden Orchestra layer grand instrumentals and sweeping strings into a dramatic and theatrical
remix of ‘Send in the Clowns.’ Leftside Wobble is then left to bring us back down to earth with an
intoxicating brew of molten synths, woozy chords and smeared pads that sooth mind, body and
soul.

The rich source material here, along with the wealth of stars chosen to remix it, all make for
another fascinating chapter in the life of one of the UK’s most cherished artists.

Consolidating 2 years of solo work, “Hard To Please” is the debut album by Canadian polymath Sally Dige. First coming to prominence in the synth-wave scene with an elusive, meta-persona in a blur of homemade costumes, Dige’s world has grown to encompass visual art, theatre and design elements. Most surprising on her long-awaited debut however is the occasional removal of the various masks and characters Dige has played to date, revealing something more tangible and fragile underneath. 

“Hard To Please” still revels in a darkly thrilling, Italo-disco pop music, awash with dry ice and hidden in shadow, most personified on the instant classic Immaculate Deception. However, on the long, nocturnal walk home Dige begins to sing of loneliness, being lost, the transience of our relationships. Attention to detail is paramount. On the title-track the crisp early-80s, swooning bass line duets with Dige’s desperate plea to a lover fading into the distance, a presence lamented with even more pathos on the towering, early-4AD-esque, slow-burner Your Girl. It’s a new fragility that effortlessly manages to convey a luxurious, inescapable sensuality at the same time.

Indeed, Hard To Please portrays a clear narrative, with electronic body movers like Doppelganger portraying an out-of control, self-obsessed persona at the beginning of the record. Breaking down into the foggy murk, the more hopelessly romantic album closers “A Certain Beauty” and “Dance Of Delusion” burn a ghostly image into the listener’s mind, as Dige, or someone like her, over Cure-like swooning reverberations entreaties the powers that be to let her dance. Dige never fully reveals her hand, but the game is worth playing endlessly.

Dear Music travellers, it's been a very positive year for me and I wanted to ended it up, possibly, in the best way by writing a tune that would have been made available for free for you all. 
I am extremely delighted to see so much interest and support to my Horizons project ever since it was born and felt like I need to connect every day more with as many of you as possible, in order to spread the deep underground Progressive message. 

Some of you know already what's behind this project from the day I started it: Horizons means a deep Club progressive trance conception fully loaded with intense dark atmospheres and long build ups; but it also means an imaginary world tour through some of the most enchanting places of the world, so often unknown, which I would like everyone to appreciate in the same way as I did when I first discovered them live or through TV/PCs.
 
This year I have brought you to Tajikistan first, then to Bloemendaal (Holland), while I have been working more on different remixes: so for this special tune I have taken off from Holland and flown towards the deep, dark and bewitched mountains of Romania, exploring one of its purest and maybe creepiest side: the village of Densu. 
Hence why my decision to rename the tune in Romanian, which basically means "The Lights of Densu". 
The long intro-concept will open the door to the Carpatians mountains that stand out against the Romanian sky. As we approach Densu, an ever growing intense layer of atmospheres will embrace you to the moment you will be suddenly thrown right up the hill where the village was born. Here's when the 4/4 beat kicks in and you will be wandering up this hill towards an abandoned church, that appears in the middle of the night haze. Shortly after though, a ray of sunshine enlightens the mountains in the background giving you, right at the end of this journey, that light of hope you need to start the new Year with a smile on your face.

Silque is a new duo in the house scene hailing from The Netherlands. After working for years in the music industry, Frenk de Vries and Edwin de Bruijn, decided to join forces. It was time for them to take the experience and knowledge they've got and put the matter into their own hands. At the end the fortune favors the bold.

The affinity and passion the duo has with the club scene, was another reason the guys couldn't resist to work together. They couldn't wait to get a new sound into the club scene of today. They wanted to put the raw tech house vibe fully back into the scene. Where nasty noises, melodies, techhouse driven basses and hihats are ruling the dance floor.

This vision worked out. After just 4 months of putting total effort into the project, the hard work resulted in their first EP 'Serenity' signing with DJ Licious celebrated label SHOMI.
'Serenity', 'Modular' and 'MFS' are one by one must haves for DJ's the upcoming festival season. It will keep the audience going, as it is impossible to stand still on these massive productions.

Fête crashes into life while the chattering snares keep the rhythm flowing. It’s modern tech house done very slickly indeed but with enough spice to keep things interesting. The track received its worldwide premiere on Danny Howard’s prestigious BBC Radio 1 show, one of the world’s most listened to dance music programs.

New Dutch tech house duo Silque are currently working hard on their vision: putting the raw tech house vibe fully back into the club scene of today. And they have proven to be successful with this. Their first EP release ‘Serenity’ in 2017 they already gained support from major acts like Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Annie Mac, Nic Fanciulli and Agoria amongst others.

With fans clamouring for the track since its release, it looks like STMPD RCRDS has another hot ticket on their hands.
