Brand new single from Death In Vegas frontman Richard Fearless on his Drone imprint. Debut single 'Higher Electronic States' premiered on Dummy, Ransom Note and The Drone.  

Welcome to the second aural outpouring from the world of Drone, the London-based label from producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless, now firmly established as an artist in his own right. Earlier this summer Drone laid down its debut mandate in the form of Fearless' own Higher Electronic States, which picked up plaudits from corners far and wide.
 
Discussing the second single Richard says "With Higher Electronic States I wanted to make a record to end my sets with, Gamma Ray is something much deeper. I wanted to create a timeless stark, minimal, desolate landscape of a track."
 
And he's done just that, creating one of those rare things in electronic music, a song with longevity. A piece of finely crafted techno of the highest order; 
 
"I obsessed over Gamma Ray. spending a week on the drum sound alone". 
 
To make matters all the more enticing he's enlisted the supreme talent that is Legowelt to rework the track. Stripping it back further to its core elements this is pure heads music from Danny Wolfers, another extreme audiophile. The depth, texture and atmosphere he injects into the track completes what is an exceptional and significant second release from Drone.  
 
"I feel like I've made the record that is true to this vision." We wouldn't disagree.
 
Having recently taken in part in an RBMA lecture in their Russian headquarters and an appearance at the hallowed turf of Golden Pudel planned for later in the year, the world of Richard Fearless and Drone is in its ascendancy.
 
Dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations, created in the Metal Box, Drone releases oscillations in many forms, further transmissions incoming.

In our 3 flats. Since no one of us is a real/serious DJ we decided that each of us is doing one part of the mix. Jakob did the first, Bernhard the second and I did the 3rd part of the mix. Then we put it together at Top Sound Studio. 

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?

Probably the best setting would be in a car while travelling trough 3 different land-scapes, because each of the 3 parts of the mix is quite different - so it maybe could be this journey:

What should we be wearing?

Tracksuits, racing suit or 70ties style tennis outfit

A lot has changed since we released Trapdoor Volume One over a year & a half ago, especially within electronic music. 2ndSun - Revelation / KCRW Premiere

Nascent label, Youngbloods, are preparing their final release of the year in Kratos Himself's Loon Garden (out Dec. 18). It's a short-and-sweet album at just eight tracks, but that just means there's no room for fat. There's quite a bit to enjoy in those slender eight tracks but it's "See What Eyes See" that really stood out for us. Building ever so gradually in the beginning, Kratos slowly introduces gentle splashes of colour and melody before a relaxed beat takes the lead, guiding us through a series of fragile, interweaving melodies. All this culminates in the big, jazzy reveal at the two-minute mark for a rewarding and soothing listen.

As part of the ongoing weekly song share thing, I bring to you my track "Forgiveness". Like all of my instrumental tracks, I try to let it build and tell its own story. I usually have a clear goal of how a particular track would sound in the end, but in the case of "Forgiveness" the process was kind of randomly piecing together elements 'till they make sense. I had a few friends pre-listen to this song in its the early stages and had mixed reactions. But in the end, I just went with what feels and sounds right to me. Why call it "Forgiveness"? Mainly an afterthought, but I guess it was inspired by the song the sample was taken from.
