The glow from the rays of the mid afternoon sun illuminated the white covered floor with delicate precision. Shadows were scattered beneath the branches of trees whilst the daylight from above was stark and brutally vivid in contrast. Snow had been falling for a long time now and he could not recall the last time he had seen the dense greenery of the mountains which loomed in the distance far away. There was a hazy quality to the air as the soft flakes landed upon the ground. It crunched beneath the boot. 

PTU has remixed the prolific Maelstrom on the record label RAAR run by himself and Louisahhh which is due for release this week. Heavy duty, fun focused club sounds with a dark twist.

Whilst walking through the city there was an heir of discontent which hung heavily in the morning air. The people walked past, their faces cold and moody under the weight of work, stress and the burdens of everyday life. The disbelief habit was what allowed them to maintain haste and move from one day to the next, there was little here to live for in this deadbeat town. One day he dreamed that he might leave this space but it didn't appear that this might be anytime soon...

Jamal Moss is set to release a new EP on the Barcelona based record label Modern Obscure Music under the alias of The Sun God. He delivers experimental eclecticism in his signature style.

There was a sweet sound which lingered in the pool hall, it was not the usual sound of Friday night violence and trouble from the boys but a bittersweet groove which poured through the speakers. One by one the players began to take note and decided to stop for a second. The green felt of each table was illuminated by the glow of a faint, dim light. It was as if they glowed a fluorescent green radiance set for the discotheque. The players moved into the centre of the room and listened carefully, it was time to move and dance. 

Sharif Laffrey knows the deal. A veteran producer with a penchant for house music of the highest quality, he returns once again with an extended cut of acid laden beats and breaks. All with a catchy sample.

The ancient city held a voice of reason, a narrative which was hard to defy. For many years there had been an enchanted presence which hung amidst the towering city walls, it was as if some form of brutal magic had enchanted the magnificent kingdom and now they were under the snare of a greater force. The Haiphong boogie was what it had been so aptly named, somewhat satirical and somewhat in order to allow for it not to intimidate day by day. Nobody was scared of a boogie... were they? 

Is that summer we here? Just around the corner you say? Hatchback certainly thinks so as he prepares to release a new LP on Lo Recordings as he brings in the sunny season.

The jeep drove through the outback with precision and speed, the rubber wheels roared furiously on the sand and gravel beneath. In the distance they could see the greenery of the trees beginning to appear on the hillside as they began to notice the difference in shades and shadows under the rays of the sun. The Suzuki ploughed forwards with the intention of driving them into the depths of the woodland, under darkness they might have a better chance of remaining concealed. 

Kalbata is set to release a new EP on Brush & Broom Records, a fun buoyant EP dedicated to the Tel Aviv producers love of motorcycles. Club ready and finely tuned.

The noise in the tube carriage was somewhat overwhelming and yet comforting at the same time. She didn't like the silence of an ominous voyage through the dark yet couldn't shake the notion that it was time people stopped talking. Why were they not as afraid as her? Could they not feel the wave of tension and peril which moved amidst the carriage as it approached each different platform at great speed? Didn't they know the risk that the transport system posed to her and her sense of self. 

Le Temps Perdu are set to release a great big compilation representative of the sound of Opium, a club operating out of Vilnius in Lithuania. It features contributions from the likes of Manfredas, Lauer, Kris Baha and more.

The time was half past midnight and the day from before had been wiped clean by the clicking noise of the clock. It hung abruptly upon the wall within the factory as the workers looked up from below with a dazed expression. They had been confined to the metallic blur of the industrial space for far too long and had forgotten what the greenery of the outside world and the jungle looked like. Grey was all to be seen within the blurry discourse of this space and time was relative.

Midnight Tenderness is set to release a brand new EP on the rising Australian label of the moment Ken Oath. The imprint is in fine form as they deliver another jazzy take on house music purpose built for the discerning dancefloor.

The water moved slowly in and out against the shore, it seeped through rock pools and brought new life to the obscure ecosystem which resided in each. Creatures of the water flourished in this space despite the deadly cold which lurked ominously in the air above the surface of the pond. Walking across the beach he looked backwards, tracing his steps and footprints in the sand. The process of dillution would soon come and wash all of this away but for now it remained humble and still. 

NSDOS is set to release the second part of his "Intuition" project on Upton Park. Recorded and split across two albums the release saw him travel to Alaska to dabble in sonic experimentation and field recording.

The bird sat promptly in the old apple tree at the top of the garden. Good afternoon Mr Magpie, how are you today? It was the ominous bird which brought with it a sense of foreboding dread, it was the imp of the mind which lingered from the night before. The morning after was never very fun, at least that's what his experience of it was. The party had been so tall and grand, it had felt like it might never end and run for all of eternity but like all good things, it had to end. 

Wayward are to release a new remix package which features an all star array of talent in the form of Brame & Hamo, Duke Hugh, Folamour and more. Big Miz features on the EP, the Glasgow producer very much on the rise following his new album on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams.

Who knows, this might be the year we last forever. Infinity 2018 is coming, in an age of artificial intelligence, robot wars and futuristic hyperspace we might just be about to enter a brand new dimension. There was a hideous sense of hyperactive tension which hung in the air as they all stood watching the space shuttle prepare to kiss the sky. Soon the firew would roar beneath the great metal frame and send it skywards with magnificent power and might. 

Severin is set to release a new EP on Petrola 80, a record label with a vigorous sense of individuality and a focus on the future. Cutting edge electronic music with a distinctive drive.

Safe Following Distance

The confines of the rulebook left little room for imagination or free spirit. It was not so much in what the text read but in the semiotics which were implied. He put the book back upon the dusty shelf and decided to move on for the day, this was no time for reckless abandonment but for celebration and positive thought. Who cares what the rule book read anyway? It was time for him to settle and do his own sweet thing. The time was now. 

This next one is from a secretive producer very close to our hearts here at Ransom Note. It's always nice to see a friend do well and this is a thoroughly excellent EP on Sheik 'N' Beik.

The envy of the room gave him a strange sense of warmth and boosted his self esteem. He took satisfaction from watching them grimace and groan as he claimed the prize they had all so desperately been seeking. Walking off into the night he appeared to have won the day, the rain battered down upon the concrete, the rumble of thunder from the sky above echoed with a clap. It was haunting and beautiful, there was much to be said for the night air. 

Extra Terrestrial are a duo based in East London, familiar faces amidst the capital and firmly supported. They release a new EP on the up and coming label Trouble Maker.

The defiant battle between good and evil is neverending. Heroic purgatory and a state of discontent was all that awaited beneath the pearly gates and the crystal staircase skywards. Down there they were having a whale of a time, there was little rule and order, none of that nonsense was permitted in heaven. He wondered how long he might stay here for, but at the same time felt an overwhelming sense of sadness at the thought of ever having to leave. 

WCC are set to release a new EP on what will be the second outing for Cologne based record label RDK Island. Intriguing and limited this one looks to be interesting.

Heroic Purgatory

The tropical haze blew across the wilderness and cast a spell upon the distant land. Those that danced upon the shore looked fondly outwards towards the deep blue of the ocean as the clouds began to roll in and leave shadows upon the hillside. The sand felt great between his toes as he moved freely under the magic of the delicate music. Balearic bliss had been found upon the island and it would seem as if there were to be little reason to ever return home. 

Modula is set to release a new EP in line with Record Store Day which is set to take place on the 21st of April later this month. He delivers two sun kissed tracks for Futurible Records.

The country had an identity all of its own, whether this was good or bad remained up for debate. A stereotype can be a dangerous thing as America damn well knew, it was difficult to defend the philosophy of a nation whilst attempting to invade another. From the sandy outback of the South through to the towering cities which ruled the world, each had their own sense of what America was and is to them. Who was anyone else to take that away?

Next up we have house music royalty in the form of a fabulous reissue. Joe Montana's "America" returns for the first time in years as Claque Music prepare to revive the love. The EP comes with two new versions by Virgo Four and The Museri.

The door creaked slightly as it softly cast a spiralling light out into the corridor. The opening finally allowed them all to see what had been lurking in the secret room for so many years. The den of intrigue was filled with towering shelves of books, tall lamps and the greenery of dense thick plants. It looked like a study of sorts but he knew that it was much more than that. It was a room in which wild things happened and in which wild beasts grew, even if they were simply ideas. 

Foreign Sequence is the alter ego of Tonotopy who releases on the newly launched French label Post Human Records. The first EP is a woozy blend of glitchy synths and acid sludge.

The ground upon which he walked might as well have been solid gold for he was untouchable and delicate upon his feet. Nobody could touch him in such a state, he reigned supreme over the mere mortals who lived amongst his kingdom inside the towering walls of the city. He was the prince and his rule was trict and fierce. He was worshipped in the East and there would be little that the West could do to prevent his rise from mediocrity to angelic. At least so he thought...

Mirror Zone is a newly launched imprint which looks set to be very interesting indeed, the first release comes in the form of a four track EP from the obscure producer Memphis. Originally recorded back in 1994 this one is dance focused with the psychedelic haze of something special from beyond.

The messages continued to resonate with him long after he placed his phone down. This was not going to be an easy feat. Getting over someone was always notoriously difficult but via text message had left him high and dry - cold hearted and malicious he had grown sick and tired of the fake and distant world which lived within the cellphone. He did not have the binary touch so to speak, he had a distinct distain towards technology and the world around. 

Dj OK is set to release a new EP on hundert, an EP which channels the beauty of the text message and reimagines the prosperity and depth within dance music.
