R$N Premieres: February 2018

The car raced towards the finish line at a hurtling pace. In pursuit there was a squadron of motors parading proudly in the wake of the smoke trail which blazed up high amidst the sky. Burning rubber lingered in the air and the crowd of spectators watched on in awe at the sheer speed and scale of the display. Some had disputed the validity of the race, some had even claimed that the sport was for suckers and cheats. What did they know about speed anyway? This was it. 

Dormir are an Australian group from Melbourne, they are set to release a new EP on Pelvis Records & Burning Rose, new wave, dream like electronics with a sense of nostalgia. The EP is rounded off by two remixes by both Cop Envy and Leo James. It is the first which we bring to you today.

The computer screen flashed abruptly and the light went out beneath the thick dense glass. The old machine had potentially blown its fuse for the day but there was still significant hope that the track might not have been lost to the depths of the ether. Vanishing into thin air it had the potential to revitalise itself from the beyond. Reloading the machine there was little hope or life in the old box, the tin can rattled beneath the desk as his foot tapped abruptly upon the floor. 

Now here's a secretive one, an unknown artist with an unknown track. Discodromo however are familiar faces, the pair behind Cocktail d'Amore remix the mysterious alias on Me Me Me.

The machinery was piled high inside cardboard boxes which towered high towards the ceiling. The warehouse was a place of militant storage and not somewhere expected to be of any sort of interest to the outside world. At least so he thought... Inside however, there was a playhouse, a fortress of solitude by which nobody else knew of. The palace of Xenon was his big time place of fun and after dark once all the staff had gone he was quite simply left to his own devices. He was the king of the castle. 

Ludwig A.F. Röhrscheid is set to release a new EP on Exo Recordings on the 19th of February next month. A wonderful blend of elegant electronics, blissful pads and tricky rhythms.

The beach was a tropical paradise upon which beautiful people graced, it was not somewhere to see but in which to be seen. Sitting upon a sunbed he looked out at the peaceful world and took a drink from his tall glass of coco loco. The cold moisture which stuck to the side of the glass felt icy and  chilled to the touch, the sand in between his toes rustled below. The sun was scorching hot and the heat was almost too much to bare, retreating into the shade he lay down and closed his eyes. 

House Is Ok are set to release a new EP celebrating five years in business, the split EP features contributions from Kornel Kovacs, Roman Flugel and more.

The tropical escapade had seen them travel across the globe in search of the most beautiful beaches upon the great planet earth. What they had found was startling and beautiful: golden sands, blue skies, radiant green forests and winding waterfalls. Now as they stood watching the sun set upon the horizon they held each others hands and began to dance. This was the sweet foreign sound of sambao, a soundtrack to an experience which had led them amidst the stars and into beyond...

Duccio is set to release a new EP on the up and coming Greta Cottage Workshop imprint, a label with a consistent drive for exploration and creativity. He seems at home on the label with an intriguing club focussed release set to delight and surprise.

We're massive fans of Bwana here at R$N Towers. Trust us, it's difficult to understate that. So when we heard that the Toronto-born producer (real name Nathan Micay) was starting a new vinyl-only label called Schvitz Edits, we leapt at the chance to premiere his take on another Canadian hero - folk singer Gordon Lightfoot, whose 1966 song 'Oh, Linda' provides the basis for Micay's absurdly titled 'Trance Pluckathon Remix'. Somehow, against all the odds, this heartbroken ballad's reincarnation as a slow burn early '90s trance anthem makes perfect sense.

Out 9th February, the first release on Schvitz Edits is also home to Micay's edit of Dr. John's 'I Walk On Guilded Splinters'. There will be two further 12"s arriving later this year - each of them focused on bringing classic non-dance music songs into a dancefloor context.

Jorge Caiado is set to release a new EP on his own recently launched record label Carpet & Snares. His feature will be only the second on the imprint and also features a remix from the in demand S. Moreira most commonly associated with SLOW LIFE.

Fina Records return with a fresh EP from Paso, an intriguing prospect which features originally crafted club tracks and an innovative take upon house music in the present day.

Ears Have Eyes are close friends and all round top chaps. Their latest release comes in the form of a new EP from Murun B & Ivor E who deliver an enigmatic blend of electronics and dancefloor delight.

The Mother of Mars remix EP is out today! Six brand new versions that pull the epic kosmische drift of 'Seed 2 Sky' into strange new shapes. Here's a remix from the mysterious Leaf, who teases the track out into a two part psychedelic epic. Opening with dreamy washes of sound and live drums that build to a euphoric crescendo, everything falls away to reveal a bassy electro jam, with rhythmic pulses like a robotic heartbeat.

The mind was a powerful tool when utilised correctly. However, there was a significant risk surrounding the theory of control by which one should manipulate their own thought. As he walked through the park he noticed the birds flying gracefully across the early morning sky and wondered whether everyone felt this way, as uneasy or distant as him. In the distance the roar of sirens echoed, it cut through the peace and left a bitter taste upon the air. Why did it have to be this way?

2XM are set to release a new EP on Nail Shop, a modern day take on a sound which came long before. The EP is a delicate blend of dreamy house and melodic flutters.

The project was increasingly prolific. What had started simply as a side hustle had led to prosperity and growth, the money had begun to pile in and before they knew it they were knee deep in mess and fury. The trade was fierce and competitive, the game complicated and fickle. Just because a customer showed one day it didn't mean that they'd return the next. These were difficult times on the street and you had to look out for the safety of your own, let alone the people around you. 

Toma Kami are set to release a new EP on Man Band, a bass tinged affair which draws upon elements of rave and nostalgia. One for the heads and the late night dancers.

The sky was exceptionally dark but for the faint dim glow of the distant moon. It was not as bright as it might have been on another evening but for the clouds had restricted the view and hindered plain sight. There was no a star to be seen beneath the haze of the midnight hour as it had spent most of the day raining with little pause. He couldn't remember the last time it had been anything but damp, the ground was laden with water and the puddles were deeply entrenched. 

Odd Beholder have intrigued and captured the imagination as of late. The/Das have remained consistently impressive and their recent album on Life And Death was distinctive and inspired.

Walking out from the chapel she left behind a delicate tail of intricately woven misery and torturous anguish. It had never been supposed to end up like this for her, for her family, her friends and her lover. Now as the story came to a bitter yet fickle end she dreamt no more. 

Yila is remixed by an array of exceptionally talented musicians on a new EP for Supremus Records. Dave DK works his usual wizardry blending soft whispering vocals alongside his ominous electronics.

Better (Of) Me

The jungle was wild, the mythical creatures were bouncing beneath the thunderous skies as the rain began to pour with relentless force. The sound of bongos and congas echoed between the tall palm trees as the roaring waves crshed against the shore. It was time to take shelter beneath the banana tree and dance under the rains of the leader upon high. Soon there would be radiant heat but for now it was time to rejoice beneath the water and sing. 

Akkan is set to release a new EP on La Belle at the tail end of this week. The release is rounded off by an intriguing remix from Disco Halal affiliated producer Naduve.

The sun kissed island was a place of radiant beauty where wild grass grew and the golden sand blew upon the soft breeze. St San was it's name to the locals, they'd built huts from wooden planks and left their lives in the city to form a tribe of sorts. Now upon the far away shores they watched as the moon rose from beneath the horizon and glided softly towards the starry sky. Life in the hustle and bustle of a world away felt like long ago now that they had found peace and serenity. 

RBDP are a French duo with a penchant for house. They delve deep and pay homage to the glory days of New York and Chicago with a melodically focused release on Post Pluto. Listen to a remix by Ewan Jansen which features alongside.

The door slammed leaving a resounding echo within the empty halls of the house. Upstairs she lay on the bed pondering what on earth had gone wrong and why it was that she was never good enough. Outside the cold wind howled, it was as if winter were out to get her let alone her own personal life. Rain lashed against the window with a dull thud, what would have been a usually comforting sound became a repetitive reminder of the empty world outside and that of which she had lost. 

Lay-Far steps up to release a stellar EP on In-Beat-Ween Music featuring the collaborative vocals of Stee Downes. This one has been supported widely with the likes of Mark Seven, Gilles Peterson and more all behind it.
