The haunting flowers would struggle to survive the winter months. The ghost orchid would lose its blossom and the cascading petals would fall quite abruptly to the forest floor below. Nature was a cruel mistress by which the jungle must abide, everything was in its place and right where it was supposed to be. The ghosts of winter would soon run riot through this empty trees whilst the animals slept in hibernation between the glow of the distant moon. 

Benjamin Fröhlich recently released music on Permanent Vacation. Now, it is his turn to be remixed, as is so often the way. Lauer, Shan, Jack Pattern and Cleveland all step up to reimagine his work. The latter is who's version we bring to you.

The difficulty with language is that it can be hard to articulate, decipher and change. What is said cannot be erased and taken back, it stands firm in the passage of time for a life to come. This is why such holy books have paved the way across the ages, they cannot be taken back. Nowadays it is all about a turn of phrase, depicting what may come next and rephrasing that which was mistaken. Perhaps in the future we will learn better, and take our time. 

Teniente Castillo is set to release a new EP on Playpal Music. Operating out of Madrid he creates tripped out electronic music rife with drive and bass. He is remixed by Undo.

As he charged victoriously towards the finish life he reflected upon a charmed life. Hardship? No. Pain? No. This was all far too easy, in the distance he could hear the echo of a tannoy blaring out loudly to a crowd of onlookers. 

"We are here today..." 

All that nonsense got old pretty freakin' fast when you were running your socks off upon the bareback concrete in extreme temperatures. Little did they know that he would be just fine. 

Kiwi features as part of the latest edition of the Mushroom House series on Toy Tonics Records. He contributes alongside Ponty Mython, Tom Trago, Munk and The Barking Dogs.

PREMIERE: Kiwi - We Are Here [Toy Tonics]

Frank Wiedemann - co-founder of Innervisions and one half of German deep house duo Âme alongside Kristian Beyer - is launching a new label called BIGAMO, focused on music from outside the house spectrum.

Out 8th March, the first record on the label comes from Fred und Luna - an alias for German artist Rainer Buchmüller - who has previously released an EP on Optimo and remixed Prins Thomas for Innervisions. New album 'Im Klanggarten' is rather different - a new style which Buchmüller describes as 'Elektrokraut' or 'Krautelektro' - essentially modern Krautrock with an emphasis on beautiful melodies and modern electronic sounds.

We're premiering the opening track, 'Minisong'. It's a haunting, moody number with a slowly evolving melody that could soundtrack a misty morning by the lake.

PREMIERE: Frank und Luna - Minisong [BIGAMO]

Wolfstream was made in wintry St. Petersburg and absorbed the "cold of abandoned manufactories and the sound of empty railroad depot". The duo makes hasteless and mesmerising music full of analog synths, percussions and live basslines. On this cut taken from their new four track EP, they collaborate with a certain Mister Gray. Creeping out of the darkness of one of those ghost town monoliths above, it fills up with swirling ethnicity, military snares and sitar styled vibes. Coiled and apprehensive and ticking like a Soviet time bomb, it grows more menacing as you step closer. Beware.

The hotel towered fiercely above the city skyline. It loomed ominously, casting a black shadow amidst the skyscrapers and its pitch black windows allowed not one soul to peer inside. This was a place that was exclusive, all inclusive and yet deprived. Only the rich were welcome and the weak were left cast aside on the street outside. In this concrete prism people would dance well into the small hours, blissfully unaware of the world outside, a tower of doom, despair and ignorance. 

Name in Lights have been steadily working behind the scenes for many years, producing music, running party and pioneering their record label Feed. Now they release on Omena records and are remixed by Samo DJ.

Wonder Stories’ head man Aimes readies his first 12” of the year with 'Grandiose Visions'. The EP contains mixes from pal DJ Rocca and San Fran's the Beat Broker. On the original mix here, guitars shimmer in from a clear horizon, as an arpeggiated bassline propels this grandiose groover. Always ready to fill in the details before some classy Italo piano, this spacey trip drives on through the late night, licks, tricks and spills along the way. Pedal to the metal, there's still miles to go.

The spinning wheel rotated fiercely within the machine. The metallic glow of buzzing metal whizzed furiously casting vibrations across the empty room. Inside the clothes turned upon rotation, sweet like a delicious fabric they would smell upon their delivery to the outer world. For now they simply floated gracefully between the soapy bubbles, dancing amidst the splash of water and the fuzz of electricity. 

Too Smooth Christ first appeared on Ville Nouvelle's debut release over a year ago. Now he returns with 'LD Fantasy Tracks' which is due for release on vinyl at the tail end of March.

One of our favourite labels, Local Talk, are putting out a 12" from the "Telephone Man" himself, Terrence Parker. One of the second wave Detroit pioneers alongside Carl Craig and Jeff Mills, but on the house side of things rather than techno, his moniker derives from the fact that he uses a telephone handset instead of headphones when DJing.

In the past TP has released on labels such as Nervous, Defected, Planet E Communications and his own Intangible Records. His new 12" sticks to his classic sound, and we're very happy to be premiering one of the tracks. 'Unconditional' takes its name from the arresting vocal sample which weaves its way through keyboard stabs and funky synth blips.  Perfectly encapsulates that smoky Detroit skyline.

The jungle was within his mind and his dreams were under a spectacular attack. This was a sleeping assault which would leave his senses shaken and stirred, he was under arrest. The last he could remember was sitting on a speeding train as it roared through the English countryside, now he was amidst rocky mountains being stalked by rapturous beasts. The sky fell dark so suddenly and the nightmare began to warp his perception of all that was around. 

Arnaldo has long since been a favourite of ours here at Ransom Note, a stalwart of all that is deep and splendid. We were delighted to hear that he had launched his own imprint. Naturist is now open for business and Arnaldo releases its second.

The elevator began to ramp up speed as it approached the top of the magnificent structure. Out of the pale glass windows the city began to vanish beneath their very eyes as they entered another dimension far above the clouds. She shuddered a little at the thought of all those people blissfully unaware beneath her feet. They walked around like little ants at the foot of her great empire as she ascended the lift to one million. She felt alive and yet oh so puzzled. 

Slam City Jams return with their second record. This time they feature the music of a young up and comer from Belgium, Kassett.

The car flickered under the hazy glow of the orange lighting. As she approached the junction she indicated her movement, the car behind continued to tailgate relentlessly as she let out an exhausted sigh. The intersection was busy, tightly packed amidst a jigsaw of concrete and zealous metal. M45, Seven Sisters: where dreams came to die and those who had simply forgotten to live emerged from the dark depths of London's fog. Yet, it was her home, and she longed for the eerie smell of such mist now, more so than ever. 

Daniel Araya is the next to appear on Cardopusher's Classicworks record label. He delivers a rough and rugged album of disruptive electronics and glitchy techno.

Seven Sisters EP [CWS014]

Deep within the murky clouds flew an aircraft of grandeur and splendour. The glow of its white metallic wings shone brightly under the rays of the morning sun as it travelled graciously through the distant sky leaving a dusty trail of muffled white in its wake. Soon they would descend upon a new city in which they must conquer through the power of protest and voice. For now, they would sit amidst the warmth of leather chairs, drinking champagne and reflecting upon a campaign which had been simply marvellous. 

D104 is the next to release on Palma, an up and coming label which seems to consistently catch the attention of us here at Ransom Note. Delicate pads, rough glitches and dusty drums. Intriguing release.

Dope

The website was a maze. Perilous black holes lurked behind every stray corner, the risk of deletion a destiny beneath the code. Here he felt at home, in the furthest corners of the web, his computer friends were with him now. Tucked away in the corner of his bedroom he began to laugh chaotically as the code flickered and flashed rampantly across his screen. How could a system of such strength be tampered with by such ease. He was the hacker amidst the midnight hour. The rest watched on. 

UNDO's "Disconnect" first emerged towards the tail end of 2016. Now Factor City return with an array of remixes from friends and associates.

The channel was flickering between the chip chop of voices and rumbling static. As she turned the dial she ramped her foot hard upon the accelerator below, the engine roared beneath the weighty presence. The screech of wheels upon tarmac left a strain in the ears of the innocent bystanders as she flicked the switch to FM 80. This was to be her day, it had been far too long. The lights flashed and changed beneath the dark summer sky. She moved. 

BXT is a bit of a supergroup to be honest. Made up of Niko Marks, Amp Fiddler and Eddie Fowlkes the three have collaborated to produce an EP of deep textures and elegant house.

Rising

Deep in the mountainous region she marched amidst the dust and dying plants. She was searching for a place which many had only dreamt of between the distant noise of a lullaby. The cold wind blew freely in her hair and the scent of clean linen radiated from her cotton clad body. She wandered distantly between the cascading leaves as the last of the autumn blossom fell heavily to the floor of the dusty road. marching forwards, she tread with caution, in search of Douce Mollese. 

Romance are a newly founded record label who are set to release a ten part assortment of vinyl and cassettes exploring house, techno and ambient. The first release comes in the form of Zzzzra's 'Douce Mollesse'.

The sandy outback was not a place to be caught off guard and unaware. This was a perilous place packed rife with danger at every turn and a villainous omen might come a calling at any given time. The purple hills in the distance hung hazily in the blurry echoes of his vision as he continued to walk forwards into the dust storm. The noise of the wind echoed fiercely with a weighty tone between his ears. This was the last time he might see the sky, for it would be no more. 

Yard One returns with a new EP for Unclear Records. It is accompanied by an action packed rave remix from Simoncino, however, it was the original which caught our upmost attention.

Karman Line EP

His world was a pleasant daydream as he patrolled the seafront. Looking out from upon the pier he began to wonder whether anyone else lived their life in such similar states of reverie, away with the clouds if you will. The dance was on as the waves rolled gracefully in the distance as the boats came and went. He was at ease with the world and at one with the gracious narrative of life. Can it be that it was all so simple? For now he cared little as to the answer. 

Wilhelm embodies the definition of an up and comer. His sound weighty and forward thinking, his music supported by the likes of Tasker, Bruce, Randomer and many others.

Doldrums

Deep in the jungle grew an array of plants and flowers which belonged to an environment found nowhere else on planet earth. The mystic jungle was a place of distinct beauty and charismatic creatures ready to erupt at any given moment. The forest floor was alive with insects and life as the leaves feel softly from the greenery of the trees up above. In the distance the sound of a bird could be heard chirping loudly amidst the tall trees, it's cry echoed through the summer air. 

Michael Laven is set to release a six track mini album on Kerosene. Crisp ambient textures are paired with tightly crafted percussion in what is a beautiful release.

The choir sang with a haunting undertone. The mood had been dampened by the falling rain as they gathered in the field amidst the long green grass. Around them puddles were beginning to form and the sky had turned an ominous shade of mystical black. As they began to chant they braced themselves for what might come next. "Aman, Aman" they cried, to the heavens above. Bringing new life, a labour of love. 

Krista Papista is an artist who has consistently continued to capture our ears here at Ransom Note. She is reimagined by Lokier on a new self released EP.
