Stem is the new guise of London-based DJ and radio host Jenny Cheng. Sonically her DJ sets and radio shows move through deep bass explorations and crisp shuffling rhythms that feel distinctly fresh and distinctly UK. These energetic selections have seen her grace the airwaves of stations like NTS, Noods and Rinse as well as holding down a residency, Sublime Portals, last year on East London's Netil Radio.

Stem: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

Stem’s fluid approach touches on sound design, sonic percussion and heady club tracks, presenting an identity which transcends genre. With each set she aims to contrast and flow, taking influence from the UK’s multi-disciplinary music scene, and they are characterised by an exciting sense of push and pull, micro and macro, detail and wide-spanning horizons, whilst keeping things playful and loose.

Alongside this we offer musings on film, books, life, and art, generating some context and controversy as an antidote to the reheated PR that clogs up the internet. Our office is fuelled by Tunnock’s Bars, cat memes, hangovers and a ridiculous, never ending love for our culture.
