“The idea of the mix is conceptual  - to show where the sound goes now. From atonal to tonal then back  to atonal and now whats most interesting when a lot of producers started to change from Western tuning of twelwe equal intervals per octave to microtonal - intervals smaller than a semitone, also called “microintervals”. Very interesting aswell symbiosis between  Artificial Intelligence and human mind, some tracks of this mix are them. Some contemporary electronic music  now can be so accurate, clean and have so bright timbres.
The future of sound, looks very promising. Very big influence aswell from queer scene. Hope you will enjoy this mix as I enjoyed.

This week we're truly happy to welcome Exhausted Modern to the series. As a producer, he commands an uncommonly consistent list of quality releases on labels such as Brokntoys, Veyl, Marguerite, Rotterdam Electronix, Soil, and many others. True to his sound, he heads the Endless Illusion label which is active since 2011, and holds a sick roster of artists. The most recent release is a remix EP of the artist's stellar Year of the Rat album with remixes by Poperttelli, NVST, Philip Otterbach, and others. He also boasts an incredible modular-powered live set, delivering a killer performance at Pinkman's District streams among others. Lock in for an hour of finely selected downtempo electronics by a master at his craft.

Amsterdam’s mayo is a musical multiped, whose path is rather unruly than unlogical. Her DJ sets, as well as her first releases, prove that she’s not easy to pigeonhole. With a focus on downtempo electronics, EBM and techno, she weaves together a wide array of musical styles.

Taking music lessons at a young age, she discovered she couldn't commit to one program. By playing the drums, the guitar, and the saxophone, she worked towards a playfield of her own. Inspired by many musical styles, ranging from rock music to reggaeton, mayo eventually moved towards DJing and music production, which would channel her unstoppable energy best. With whatever available to her, she managed to brew her experimental sounds into electronic punk music carrying her uncompromised disposition of character.

Trenton Chase is the alias of Athens-based producer Demitri Kokkinakos, a moniker for his experiments with synthesis, drum machines and live recording. 

Alongside friend Tsampikos Fronas AKA June, he runs June Records, a space for the synth-laced electronics that has been a home for his and June's own releases, as well as their production partnership under the guise of Manie Sans Délire. 

We got him on board for this week's Ransom Note mix which glides through coldwave sounds and the metallic synths that are central to his own productions.
