Guy J - January "Edge Of Heaven" Mix

For many years Javi Redondo has remained a consistent presence within the underground electronic music culture of Spain. Both as a disc jockey and producer he has evolved with delicate precision his sound drawing upon a range of deeply rooted elements and fundamentals. His music has been firmly supported by the likes of Dixon, Ben UFO, Laurent Garnier, John Talabot, Erol Alkan, Mano Le Tough, Ivan Smagghe and more... He has maintained residencies at the likes of Sport and Mondo Disko and has since evolved his international presence gracing the likes of Panorama Bar and beyond. As a producer he has appeared most prominently on Correspondant, the record label run by the pioneering force of Jennifer Cardini. He has made several appearances on the label across a number of years and this summer he will grace the stage at Nuits Sonores as part of a specially curated date by Jennifer herself.

This one is a bit special. 

When it comes to writing introductory text for mixes we often have a rough idea as to the personality behind the music, however in this case we have absolutely none. Trux is a mysterious persona who has revealed virtually nothing as to his background or roots. The music speaks for itself, a mini LP on Office Recordings emerged back in 2016 and received a nod of the head from the wider electronic music community. A cult classic of sorts with an oddball edge. Now two years ago later Trux is back, a new release and a new channel. 

"Orbiter" is forthcoming on abstract imprint Avenue 66. 

Trux has very kindly recorded a mix for us. No interview.

We know that the producer is from London, and he’s found a home on adventurous, bass-inclined labels like Livity Sound and Hidden Hawaii over the last few years. But the music — a half-dozen mutant techno releases so far — speaks for itself. Forest Drive West joins Bryan Kasenic on this latest edition of the Bunker’s biweekly radio show from our New York studio, and we’re inclined not to blow up the producer’s spot too much.
