We welcome argentinian producer Balam to the Play Pal Series, someone we've been following for quite some time and who'll be joining us also on the next Ep with a superb remix so stay tuned for that.

After being some time in an indie dance band, playing across many countries and festivals, both in Argentina and away from his home town, he's now focused on his solo project as Balam, releasing originals and remixes regularly on many different labels such as Multiculti's sub label 'Culted', Calypso Records, Playground or forthcoming works on La Belle, Tom Tom Disco and the already mentioned remix on Play Pal.

The mix includes many of his forthcoming tracks with his distinctive signature of percussions as one of the main elements, which we hope you enjoy!

Baptiste Pinsard AKA Tushen Raï is one of the minds behind Lyon-based label Hard Fist Records. Alongside friend and frequent collaborator Cornelius Doctor he shares his love of far reaching sounds, influenced by his travels around the world and his passion for digging for oddities. Since launching in 2017 Hard Fist have welcomed the likes of Pletnev, Mr TC and our own Ransom Note family member Bawrut, as well as being a platform for both his own and Cornelius Doctor's global tinged productions.

Argentinian guy Damian aka Skelesys is a versatile, ever-evolving and particularly cutting-edge artist. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, he has freshly settled in the creative surrounding of Berlin. Besides his passion for painting, electronic music has become the center of his artistic life – so he’s a producer and live act with a strong musical background inspired by Hard Rock, Post-Punk, Synth Pop, Coldwave and science fiction or horror movies. Playing drums in the age of three became his first love. After several years of playing in live bands, producing electronic music has opened a whole new world to him that would change his way of hearing, composing and feeling music.
His sound can be defined as haunted, functional and effective, as a result of a delicate and neat mixture of post-punk, coldwave, italo disco with techno. Marked basses are accompanied by thrilled melodies and subtle grooves, surrounded with a touch of darkness and a stripped down futuristic vibe – not afraid of experimenting and looking deep into the void between the senseless and the rhythmic.

Renegade Radio Camp - SKELESYS - Mix 31-10-2019

Lithuanian dj / producer @DannieFade arrived with a bang in 2019 with a debut release on the Sinchi  label which gained raves reviews from a plethora of top international dj's and press. His unique sound is a mixture between light and darkness, and this mix showcases his taste to great effect. We are big fans and recommend keeping a eye on this promising artist.

1) Introduce yourself?

My name is Daniel Jurevič, I’m a music producer and DJ based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

My music career only began last year but I’ve already released single on Sinchi, with remixes from Tolouse Low Trax and Roe Deers. Plus two remixes released on “P P P” and “Partyzanai Pop” labels.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

Looking forward to my upcoming EP on “Partyzanai Pop”, also I have few new tracks ready and a free download track coming soon.

Also  some new gigs and many more tracks are planned for the rest of the year.

How does it sound
if a piano is romping 
and a rhythm is stomping, 
stumbling over glowing voices along the way?

We didn’t know either. 

But when Paul and the Hungry Wolf were jamming in the studio around the final days of 2018, one particular outcome of those sessions could be described just as that.

By then, the Munich Duo had already established themselves as residents in several of the city’s most beloved electronic spots hosting international club nights for years. Their newest adventure around that time was ‘Galactico’, a monthly party series with regular guests like Skatebård, Young Marco or Massimiliano Pagliara. Until early 2020, those ‘dance classes for the intergalactic community’ gorgeously prospered into Paul and Daniel’s version of a perfect party, combining niche dance music with other arts and being an open and happy space for everyone.

But back to the hard-to-describe tune from the beginning… The immediate working title became ‘Mister Wonky’, thanks to its unusual rhythmical nature. Given the track’s rather chilled vibe, the two friends were surprised and excited that it constantly created such positive dance floor vibes, every time they tested it out in their DJ sets. When they asked one of their favourite producers, Philipp Lauer aka the disco phenomenon from Frankfurt, if he could imagine a remix for Galactico’s label start, he choose ‘Mister Wonky’. The resulting ‘Lauer Remix’ is an enchanting demonstration of his undeniable melodic qualities combined with a dreamy, abstract and partly rougher attitude that could easily make Lauer’s version that kind of growing, blissful festival weapon, we’re so dearly hoping to experience together again soon.
