Emerging from the Netherlands via the influential Budapest-based label Dalmata Daniel, 2:29’s debut cassette “Shifting Bits” translates software logic into artistic evolution. An engineer by trade, he frames composition as data in flux, where every adjustment carries permanent weight. The EP chronicles a pivotal migration from digital abstraction to the immediacy of hardware, forging a unique voice within veiled, melodic electro. Five originals chart this technical and personal conversion, a path later echoed by contributors Betonkust, Le Chocolat Noir, and Hadron Lundgren. The entire release acts as an auditory fossil record, documenting the precise moment a technical process becomes a defined signature.

Rotterdam’s Betonkust, a defining presence for Dalmata Daniel, mutates "Too Late To Wire" with commanding force. He strips the original's post-punk tension down to its raw architecture, then rebuilds it as a formidable Electro beast. Propulsive, broken beats form its nervous system, over which lush, agitated synth layers swarm and vintage acid lines burn with corrosive intent. It is a decisive transformation – a conversion of harmonic anguish into pure, kinetic body music. The result honours the source material's emotional core while unleashing it onto a far more physical and frantic dance floor, exemplifying the defining thesis of the entire “Shifting Bits” project.

Silver Bear Recordings proudly welcomes Kilig back to the label with his new single, ‘It’s Trying To Be Light, But It’s So Dark’ releasing 10th December. After first joining the roster with his breakthrough Blue Coat, Red Dress EP, the London-based producer returns to the imprint that helped set the tone for his early trajectory, bringing with him a deepened, more introspective evolution of the sound he debuted on Silver Bear.

Kilig has long been recognised for weaving industrial textures, minimal frameworks and ambient sonics into a distinctly modern interpretation of London’s electronic landscape. His work has earned support from Ben UFO, Call Super, Saoirse, Batu, Overmono, Midland and consistent radio play across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, NTS, and a global network of specialist stations. His music continues to resonate widely on streaming platforms as well, with standout editorial placements across Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.

The single drifts between delicate atmospheres and subtly shifting rhythms, echoing the palette that first introduced him to the label while pushing further into the trip-hop and ambient influences he’s recently embraced. Speaking on the new release, Kilig shares:

“Around this time of year my mornings are everything. It's the only daylight I properly get to enjoy. Days seem to eat themselves, and by 3pm, we're in darkness again. I get that winter is for clubs, but for me I'm hunting something to wind down to. 'Its Trying To Be Light, But It's So Dark' encapsulates that feeling. This time of year I’m drawn to more trip hop and ambient music; lots of super delicate vocals and organic sounds. Best served with a big hot chocolate and double dose of marshmellows xx”

The single stands as both a homecoming and an expansion, an artist returning to a label that helped define his early sound, now equipped with a matured, more spacious sonic identity shaped by years of creative exploration.

PREMIERE : Kilig - Its Trying To Be Light, But Its So Dark

There is a sense of purpose about the Italian duo Underspreche. Perhaps this is best demonstrated through the volume of work they have released over the last couple of years. However, what is in fact most impressive about the up and coming pair is their stature and from which camp their releases have emerged from. Last year the enigmatic duo released three independent EP's on Optimo, this is no small feat. Fast forwards to 2017 and Underspreche are back at it again having just released a new three track record on the Mule sublabel Endless Flight.

The pair appear to be on a course for success, eyes peeled.
