Partyfine is more than a record label. It’s an imprint powered by a collective of like-minded individuals and highly-talented artists, all brought together by the musical vision of one of France’s most prolific artists, Yuksek. 

Since the label’s conception a year ago, Yuksek has assembled a family-like unit of producers and vocalists, all of whom are in keeping with the Partyfine ethos, which is to provide quality music that always maintains heart and substance. Luscious synths, sweeping vocals, emotive melodies and powerful ballads all have a place on Partyfine. 

The launch release came from the label-head and featured Juveniles and Oh Land!. This was just the beginning and now Yuksek celebrates 12 months of musical curation with a best-of CD. 

The Partyfine roster are all represented and the best tracks have been compiled for a label retrospective. There are tracks from family members Villa, The Alexanders (Yuksek & Alex Metric), Black Yaya, Peter & The Magician (Yuksek & The Magician) and Crayon, but of course that’s not all. Friends of the label are also included, with exclusive cuts from Clarens, Darius, Get A Room!, Michael Garçon, Chassol & Poom all included and further promoting the Partyfine feel.

With plaudits won from the industry’s finest such as Busy P, Tensnake, Annie Nightingale MBE, Gilles Peterson, Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank, the future starts here for Yuksek and his musical brainchild.

Boston DJs Charlie Levine and Eli Goldstein go by the name of Soul Clap and are pretty much household names in the dance music cosmos. Their funk-fuelled music has an infectious vibe that travels with them everywhere they go, and if you've ever had the delight of dancing at one of their parties, it'll only take you about four bars to be hooked on their effervescence. The pair's next release comes via Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz Recordings in the form of So Sedated feat. Dayonne Rollins, a sampler taken from the forthcoming Tempo Dreams Volume 3 compilation on the label. It's low slung goodness and its here for your ears only.

Berlin based duo Hotlane's crystal clear, slow-melancholic electronic indie-pophouse has many fans. After the two singles they released over the last two years on Gomma they now come with a full EP and this new wonderful single: 'My Favourite Habit' - A slow, sweet ballad. Written in the greyness of Berlin winters - the town where the Swedish actress and singer and German DJ/ producer live, work and founded Hotlane. Both are part of the vibrant alternative party and fashion scene of Berlin. Agnes Lindström works as a model, actress, singer and DJ and Jack Tennis is one of the main DJs at Berlin underground happenings, art events and off spaces like Kingsize or the new Konzulat club. The new single comes with remixes by three of - as we think - the most interesting producers of the moment: Berlin House genius Nils Penner delivers an almost folky, very soulful, version. Pablo Nouvelle, who currently gets a lot of buzz on the internet transformed the original into a space-electro trip and Pixelated's remix is a straight forward house interpretation that might find a lot of fans.

Blending electronic production with emotive song writing, a key ingredient of Rumours' sound is Mark & Marion's intertwining male & female voices: vulnerable yet grounded in a unique sound hard to pigeonhole.  The young trio possess a natural disposition for meticulously crafted, emotionally engaging songs, heady production, and live instrumental energy. 

 

This new remix provides the blissed out and dreamy elements of the original with a suitably pleasant ‘dancey’ edge. The gorgeous, hypnotic vocals from the band work in nicely with the beat; it’s lively, imaginative and poignant at the same time. There are shimmery echoes that add to the overall nostalgia promoted by the track as Folamour certainly leaves his mark. It is precisely shaped and furnishes the soft lyrics in an unintrusive way. The resulting feeling is that the track is listener friendly and possesses plenty of sass so add it to your lover’s mixtape or Sunday afternoon playlist and it should go down a treat.

London bass-smith Rob Burn, after February's single tease, delivers his full Infinite Machine wax debut, under the moniker iO Sounds.

The A-side features "AFDW", a UKG house interplay of dancefloor-rousing vocal stutters and goosebumps-inducing R'n'B melismas, and "Tough Luck", which we've previously described as " a tour-de-force of everything of superlative appeal in electronic music nowadays", and which has not disappointed upon thorough club testing.

The B-side rocks "Bag of Snakes", which builds upon the style of the A-side tracks, while sneaking in more pervasive tech-house elements and a serpentine (wink-wink) progression, and "Always Something", a soulful next-gen deep-house number, featuring one of the most memorable hooks in IM's catalogue.

We also proudly offer not one or two, but four digital bonus tracks, in the form of the remix gallery (not including Cloaka's earlier single-only offering). Deft takes "Bag of Snakes" into mechanistic dub techno territory, drenching the original in plenty of atmosphere, while latching it to an impeccable slow-burning 4/4 beat, with a spoken word sample as centerpience... spoken word our listeners are encouraged to heed. Herr Johann gives "AFDW" an emotional, expressive, score-like leftfield treatment. Sibian & Faun increase the BPM on "Always Something", and characteristically bolster the sound design quota, blending urgency and ambience into an alternately gliding and pummeling future bass workout. Blakmsmif's 'Forge Melded' remix of "Tough Luck" is an exuberant closer, showering us with ear candy via its metallic percussion, and coaxing the original's vocals into full-on euphoria via its bed of trance stabs.
