Joining forces with vocalist @shawneetaylor, who also has several Subliminal Records credits, @deanmickoski is breaking ground in 2019 with the racing “Hand Over Heart.” Borrowing from the progressive and tech house traditions, this mercurial song exists in the space age. Setting the scene with little but a snare, a hi-hat and claps, Mickoski’s production creeps to the build like it’s got something to hide. With a muted intensity, Taylor coos “Hand Over Heart,” gearing up to sprint through the chorus while the warbling synths blur the lines between disco and commercial house. And with a bonus flip from @simonfieldofficial that takes the track deep underground, the record never slumps and demands the listener to match its energy on the dance floor.
