There is an eerie familiarity to “DEAD RIGHT,” apparent from the first seconds that you hear it. The psych guitars and dusty breakbeats lure you into a zone, until you realize you’re in a whole new place hearing a novel voice. Frank Leone is a self-produced multidisciplinary artist from the woods South of Chicago. A bedroom prodigy who is just as confirmable programming beats, singing, rapping, as he is writing screenplays and creating animated TV shows. And while he has collaborated with artists as far-ranging as Gary Wilson and Sudan Archives, this new album reveals his face (literally) and places him front and center for the first time. Fans of Foushee and The Internet will undoubtedly be drawn into Frank’s supernatural meanderings into nature and love.

The second offering from Frank Leone’s rich, soulful album FISH is the tender, dare we say sultry song Morning Dew. Co-produced by BADBADNOTGOOD’s Chester Hansen, with its skittering ride cymbals and smoky ambiance, the song transports us into a disillusioned lover’s lounge. “She never loved me in the morning,” sings Leone. Morning Dew takes a dramatic turn when Danish singer Coco O (Quadron, Tyler the Creator) comes in to lend her beautiful vocals. The depth and sincerity of this number surely piques curiosity for the upcoming album FISH.

Following the success of " DEAD RIGHT" and "MORNING DEW" with Coco O., multidisciplinary artist FRANK LEONE stops by Valentine's Day with a beautiful cover of the iconic 1969 Gal Costa song "QUE PENA” ahead of his debut Fool's Gold album, FISH, coming this Spring. Enlisting additional vocals and guitar from instrumentalist hrlum, "QUE PENA” is a full-blown bossa nova song, true to form with acoustic guitar and string arrangements. Timeless romantic music, truly a universal language.

The final single from FRANK LEONE's upcoming album FISH is the gorgeous KOALA, a sweet serenade with rich harmonies, lush flutes and acoustic guitars. Frank is once again joined by Danish singer Coco O (Quadron, Tyler the Creator) on this duet, setting the sonic landscape for his debut Fool's Gold album. If we’re on an accelerated path to dystopia, New York based Matsu and Matthew Law are going to make sure we have a good soundtrack to dance until the planet burns down or eats itself. “Pressure”, the title track from the upcoming EP by these Slow Roast and Fool’s Gold affiliates, is a frantic club weapon that pulverizes a syncopated rhythm. The chopped-up vocal at the core of the track feels like H.A.L. hitting a short circuit and losing his mind, which is honestly how we want to feel when we hit the club.

When that asteroid comes for us, will you be hitting the club? There is a grim, frantic energy to the four tracks on this EP, which the New York based Matsu and Matthew Law expertly turn into irresistible rhythms. These are DJ weapons first and foremost, filled with syncopated rhythms, laser sounds, cut-up stuttery vocals with a remarkable attention to detail.
