The Pandemic party started in pittsburgh, pa back in november or 2005 as a collective of three dj's spinning the best in global sounds. we smash together gypsy brass, cumbia, bailefunk, bollywood, ska, bhangra, bosnian hip hop, bongo flava, thai pop, balkan beats, taureg blues, and whatever else we come across that interests us.

Punk Rock born in the gutters of New York City

The Silver Thread is a three piece indie psych rock band from Pittsburgh, PA. The members consist of Todd Thomas (Guitar & Vocals), Tim Thomas (Bass & Vocals), and Dave Halloran (Drums). The sound of the band is a mixture of various influences: 60’s psychedelic rock and 70’s underground rock, early punk and post-punk. 

The Academy of American Poets is the largest membership-based nonprofit organization fostering an appreciation for contemporary poetry and supporting American poets. For over three generations, the Academy has connected millions of people to great poetry through programs such as National Poetry Month, the largest literary celebration in the world; Poets.org, the Academy’s popular website; American Poet, a biannual literary journal; and an annual series of poetry readings and special events. Since its founding, the Academy has awarded more money to poets than any other organization.

THE GARMENT DISTRICT is music by multi-instrumentalist Jennifer Baron, a founding member of Brooklyn’s The Ladybug Transistor (Merge Records). The Garment District has released music on Night-People Records (tape + vinyl), La Station Radar (Sonic Boom Remix 7") and Kendra Steiner Editions (instrumental album), and has contributed songs for compilations on Moon Glyph, Crash Symbols, Crafted Sounds, Esopus and others. The Garment District has performed at the VIA Music & New Media Festival, The Andy Warhol Museum, Ladyfest, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Music SPACE series, THRIVAL Festival, Deutschtown Music Festival, Spirit's Summer Recess, Strip District Music Fest, and has recorded live for The Andy Warhol Museum’s Silver Studio Sessions and participated in Doug Aitken's STATION TO STATION video series. Music and lyrics composed and arranged by Jennifer. The Garment District also features lead vocals by Jennifer’s first cousin, Lucy Blehar, a writer/producer/actor based in Los Angeles.
